Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Last night our story was told in a different way. Instead of following around the beloved characters, we got to see the show through the car that has come to mean so much. Baby has become as much of a character as the rest of them. With carved initials, a toy soldier stuck in the ashtray in the back, and so with how many times she has been rebuilt, Baby is as much Winchester as anyone. Her perspective is just a bit limited, which works for what's going on. A supposed case has the boys heading out of town. One of them might get lucky along the way (go Sammy!), and there's even a few weird instances. Sam has a dream, it's his Father driving the Impala, but not the one they grew up with. He's younger, and giving a warning. John tells Sam that he and Dean need to defeat the darkness. That God helps those who help themselves. Now, John was also Michael's vessel, once upon a time. When Sam tells Dean about the dream a few other things get spilled along the way. Like Sam having been infected back at the hospital. About how he had prayed for help, and how he cured whatever sickness the darkness had caused. The case takes a few odd turns. They're searching for something that drinks blood and eats hearts. A werewolf/vampire hybrid? No such thing exists....Castiel does some research and finds that the creature is like a ghoul. They need a copper coin in its mouth before decapitating it. Should be easy? When they find the Alpha of the group though, things go wrong. Dean is kidnapped by the woman they were there to help solve the murder for (her husband). She's one of the creatures. The Alpha is the deputy sheriff. And it's not going well. Dean is nearly killed by the creatures, but is lucky enough to find a penny and kill the alpha. This frees the others and turns them normal, which is good since Sam was tricked and sent into a trap. The two are able to make it back into the car, and head "home". But really, Baby is home. Covered in blood, and glass, and missing the rear window, she's going to need some fixing up....just like our boys.

Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Cannibals, Killers and Zombies, oh my. This episode of True Monsters dives into the depths of the most mythic cannibals and killers in history and tries to find out if the stories are true. Everyone is afraid of death, this is known, but being killed and eaten by somebody seems to leave a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Well, for the most part anyway. We start off this episode by getting into the story of the Sawney Bean Cannibals that would stalk the roads looking for their next meal in Scotland. Now, I have not heard this story before and am very intrigued since it could have happened, or it might not have happened, but many travelers failed to get to their destinations and this could have been the reason why. The story goes that Sawney and his family would live out of a cave that was covered by high tide during the day so they could do their hunting at night. The local villagers had no idea who was living in the cave, just that people go missing at night and there needed to be an explanation for it. When a victim escaped and told the villagers about what was happening, they all picked up their pitchforks and searched the mountains for the family and found human remains in the cave and one by one, captured the surviving children that were still practicing their family’s craft. But this could just be a story since the English had such distain for the Scot’s during the day and categorized the northerners as a race of barbarians who nobody wanted to be around. Pretty good job on getting the word out there I would say. Then we jumped into the story of Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. Now this one got a little more serious when it came to the story. Having never read the unedited version of Grimm’s fairytales, I must find a copy since they were much more adult than the stories I was told as a child. Long story short, the story was a warning for the girls of the times to be careful and guard their virginity while alone in the woods since it was easy for any of the upper class riders heading though the woods to pick one up and take full advantage of them. Different times for sure and it must have been extremely scary to walk through the Black Forest without an escort back then. Staying with the stories, they then took a look at Bluebeard, one of the first novelized serial killers. Bluebeard had been married six times and even though nobody knew what happened to his wives, he was still able to marry. When taking a leave from his castle, he gave his current wife the keys to it and she stumbled upon his dark secret. All of his previous wives were in the dungeon, dead and cut up. When returning home to see that his wife had uncovered his secret, he is ready to kill her as well, but her brothers showed up to kill him before he was able to follow through. There are reports in the past about a Count killing his wives, but I liked how they tied the story to H.H. Holmes who built his Murder Hotel and went on a rampage during the Chicago World’s Fair where he confessed to twenty seven murders, but may have committed many more than that. Jumping into everyone’s favorite genre, Zombies, the group explores real zombies that are alive and kicking in Haiti. The practice of making zombies is examined and has been proven on many occasions since people that have died or vanished years ago continue to funnel into town. Taking away a person’s free will, is what makes a zombie, not the urge to eat. The Voodoo priest has found the right method to do this using drugs to that can lead to the person losing their ambitions. I have heard many accounts of this and although it does not seem as frightening as the flesh eaters, you might need to ask yourself if you could go through life not being able to control yourself and having someone else making all of your decisions for you. That seems pretty darn scary to me. I will not be visiting Haiti anytime soon, I can tell you that for sure. Coming back to America, the Tar River Banshee is discussed and this is just a fun story. When a patriot was trying to get grains to the American soldiers during the Revolutionary War, he was stopped by the British and drowned in the Tar River. But before he drowned, he spit out a curse that the Banshee would take the British soldiers lives. The soldiers died off one by one shortly after, but was it the Banshee that did it? This could have just been a story that the immigrants from Ireland and Scotland told during this time since Banshees were more of their culture, but the problem is that Banshees were never known to kill anybody, they would just yell and place their own curse on people, pretty much telling them they were going to die. Pretty fun stuff there. Then off to Japan to visit the streets where Kuchisake Onna roams and kills children who are not able to answer her question correctly. Kuchisake Onna was said to have worn a surgical mask while wandering the streets to keep her mouth hidden from her victims, since it was slit from ear to ear so she always wore a smile. When asking the children in her path if they thought she was pretty, there was never a correct answer. If they said no, she would stab her trusty pair of scissors into the youth, but if they said yes, she would cut her deformity into their face. Although this is an urban legend to keep the kids off of the streets, a victim was identified to have his mouth cut open from ear to ear, Kuchisake’s calling card so she may still be roaming the streets today. Then the show ended with a trip to Ghost Mountain Pennsylvania where it was said that a gang of albino cannibals roamed the hills in the 1960’s. It seems to be a rite of passage for the youth in the area to drive up the mountain and try to find the house where the people lived and ate their victims freely. There might not be any real credence to this story, but everyone in the area keeps their eyes wide open in the middle of the night to make sure that they are not being hunted by the albinos and who knows if anyone will be able to make this story a reality. I really dig this episode since they talk about the one thing we are all afraid of…being eaten by someone else. Death is imminent, we know this, but we do not see any joy in becoming a happy meal for anyone else when our time has come. Ranging from propaganda to the real zombies of Haiti, True Monsters shows that it can go all around the world to find out the history about what scares us the most and make it easy enough for us to understand. Knowing that cannibals are real things, zombies are real (even though they are not what we are used to seeing on TV), the Brothers Grimm delivered much more powerful stories than we heard as kids and that some urban legends are made to terrify us, everyone seems to come to the same conclusion on the show. We like to be scared, it makes if feel more alive and even if these are just stories to frighten us, we want to challenge the unknown and being scared while doing it is just part of being alive. Stay Scared. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Let’s just take a moment to awe at the amazingness that is Mark Shepherd. He is one of the most amazing actors to ever grace TV, and honestly, Crowley would not be as great as he was were it not for the genius that is Mark. Okay, at this point I’m a little intimidated to ever meet the man, but, hey, you never know. Last night Crowley not only showed a loving side, but proved that even the King of Hell has his moments of ‘Oh s*it, what did I do’. Yep, It seems Amara is a little more than he can handle. Or more than anyone can handle really. She’s consuming souls at an alarming rate, and it seems that the type, human or demon, doesn’t really matter. She’s hungry and won’t be stopped. By the end of it, Amara has even grown a bit more…and Crowley, who has bitten off more than he can chew, has tried to say no to feeding her more…well, I feel this isn’t going to end well for our King. For things not going well, the second, or first really, award goes to Castiel, who is under the influence of the spell Rowena cast upon him. While he didn’t kill anyone, that wasn’t trying to kill him, yet, he is struggling to keep it together. Fighting the spell is proving hard, and even sending the angel into seizures. Sam and Dean put their plans to find Metatron on hold in order to focus on helping Cas. Which means finding Rowena, which means doing so before Crowley can have her assassinated. That shouldn’t be so hard, right? Eventually they do find Rowena and the Codex, but they don’t find the Book of the Damned. Rowena has been off trying to start her own Coven of Witches, but recruitment is a little dry. Nobody seems interested in being a part of her Mega Coven. Now with Crowley trying to kill her she’s trying to skip town. Thankfully the brothers get to her first. The deal is simple, free Cas and she can go free. Dean decides to add in the Book of the Damned though. Speaking of Cas, he’s off on an adventure of his own! More like running off to murder people. Sam and Dean track his phone while Rowena brings up some…secrets. Sam never did tell Dean he’d made a deal with Rowena. If she lifted the Mark of Cain from his older brother, Sam would kill Crowley. Why so much Crowley hate? Sure he’s a demon, but he’s the coolest demon! Of course Dean isn’t happy. He’s even less so when he finds Cas strangling a girl, only he does save the chick. And Rowena does hold up her end of the bargain and frees Cas from the spell. She escapes with a flick of her wrist. Cas seems fine, and Dean….he’s a little off kilter. Seems he can’t get the image of the Darkness and his meeting to get out of his mind. Are they tied together? Are they going to help each other? Amara seems afraid of God finding her. Then again, she’s eating souls…so, maybe God had the right idea to lock her up… Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...If you are afraid of things that go bump in the night, put your fears to rest as the History Channel has just the show for you. True Monsters premiered last Friday and is looking into myths versus what actually happened, well at least in a way. With no scary myth or legend off limits, this show takes you back in time to see where it all started, or at least the best logical explanation with the facts they have ascertained. Starting off with the Jersey Devil who runs rampant in the woods of New Jersey, you get the backstory of Mrs. Leeds who was said to have cursed her thirteenth child who was then changed into the beast we have all been trying to get a look at three hundred years later. Then the story takes an interesting turn and even hits up one of our founding fathers, Ben Franklin and the birth of his Poor Richard’s Almanac. Talk about a story, along with a reasonable explanation of how the myth might have actually started when Daniel Leeds’ life was turned upside down by someone that was much more powerful than him and the fear of the unknown. It then takes a look at our favorite holiday, Christmas, but not the soft cuddly side of Santa Claus who comes and brings us presents. No, it talks about Krampus who would punish those kids who were bad. Coming from the same religion, Krampus was brought forth for those naughty kids to steer clear of causing heartache over the holiday as Krampus week takes place two weeks before Christmas. Now, I don’t know about you, but if I made the naughty list, I would not get any presents. If you make Krampus’ list, you will get beaten and possibly taken to his lair for some further abuse. The show also takes a look at the underworld with Hades, Hel and Satan. They covered all the rules of the underworld, and how each monster has his or her own take on it. I especially liked the story of Hel who is the Norse ruler of hell who is part angel and part death. Hel has a cold underworld, ice, snow, you know, pretty much the worst of our world, especially if you do not have a fire to stay warm by. This was pretty insightful since I have only known the one hell and the one in charge of it and it has sparked my interest to look into some other beliefs. Either way, we all have to wait for our judgement, but we might have a choice on who will be giving it. Then they talked about the Jinn. If this sounds kind of familiar, this was the birth of genies, but with a much different purpose. Jinns were known to pester people, make their lives more difficult and overall kill the ones that released them. A big difference from the genies that would grant people three wishes. In some cultures, everyone is believed to have their own Jinn, that little voice you hear once in a while, that could be your Jinn telling you what the right thing to do is. Or maybe, just trying to put you on the wrong track altogether so it can be released. And what a way to end the show with a story about the Ammon family exorcism. I will not lie, these are my favorite types of movies to watch as a demon makes itself known in the household, along with taking over someone’s body, but this stuff might not be a story, it might be real. With exorcisms up quite drastically over the past twenty years, the Ammons family knew that they were in trouble when they moved into their new home. As the son of the family walked up a wall in the hospital and everyone else has funny feelings while in the house, they called on their priest and he found that it was not a hoax, but something he could end. With every member of the house experiencing a possession in one way or another, the priest is able to save their souls, along with saving the house. A good story and I might start believing that there is something else stirring in the dead of the night. If you are needing a little reprieve from being frightened all the time, this show might be the right fit. Featuring familiar names in the horror and sci-fi/fantasy genre to explain what really happened is just the right fit. You might find out that your fears have been wasted on a story that was told at a coffee shop once, or you just may be able to see that that thing that you have worried about your entire life has been nothing more than trusting your parents trying to keep you quiet for a night. You never know, but if you are not busy on Friday night, True Monsters might be worth checking out. Stay Scared. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Moose! I'm pretty sure I have started this blog just like this before. I can't help it! What is going on with Moose?! He plays with my feels! So does Squirrel. And Cas. And Crowley. I'm pretty sure my love of this show is bordering on unhealthy at this point. It has to be. Last night Mattie and I actually got to watch the show together. It never really happens, every, especially on time. But, last night happened and we got to share in the feels. Things were looking bleak for the boys. Just kidding, it was just Sam. The sickness that the darkness spread is getting worse. Sam is in a mad struggle to find a cure, without letting Dean catch on to anything. With a visit from a Reaper (that isn't Tara) things look....bad. She's named Billie and tells Sam that there are new rules. Death allowed them to keep coming back out of pure entertainment. Not anymore. They die this time, it's the last time. They plan on throwing their souls into the Nothing. No more heaven, no more hell, which is....scary. She promises to see Sam very soon before leaving. This fuels Sam to find a cure even faster. He even goes to the hospital chapel and begs God for a sign. There's a flash from the cage, from being tortured in hell, and then nothing. It's not until Sam is on the verge of delusion does he find something, a clue, a hint. Burning holy oil might be the only thing to save him. Luckily it works! And Sam even saves a few people after, just as he promised. Meanwhile Cas is being tortured by his angel "brothers" demanding information on the whereabouts of Metatron. Sadly, he doesn't know where he is. The torture goes on until Hannah shows up. She gets the others to leave and tries to get Castiel to tell her where the Winchesters are. After all, Cas will choose helping Sam and Dean over the Angels any time. Our Angel of the Lord catches on to Hannah's ploy and even tells her off, in his own way. In a last ditch effort the two angels bring out a familiar device, the little torture device Naomi and Crowley had both used before (poor Samandriel!) in hopes of getting answers. Hannah isn't sure she wants that, so she argues with them, and Cas is still under the curse Rowena left on him....in a burst of magiced rage, Cas breaks free....and everyone ends up dead (though he didn't kill Hannah). Cas flees back to the Bunker....needing the help of Sam and Dean. Speaking of Dean, he's brought our Cop girl to her grandmas house....then leaves. Things seem normal, right? Just kidding! After Dean leaves weird things start to happen. Like, the baby Amara sending blocks into the wall that reads "feed me". Freaking out, cop girl calls Dean and he comes running back. Only grandma had another plan, she calls for an exorcist....who just turns out to be Crowley. The King is there to figure out what this creature is. Before anything can happen, though, Amara takes things into her own hands....and does something to our cop because soon she's slitting her own grandmother's throat. What even? Crowley reveals that the woman doesn't have a soul anymore. The baby? Oh she's grown just a bit....and while Dean is distracted fighting the cop, that Crowley kills, Amara leaves. Dean and Crowley have a little disagreement and it seems our King of Hell is sick of these one sided "friendships". In the end Amara and Crowley leave without a trace. Only, Crowley finds her....with a van of people who have souls....while Dean heads home to the Bunker to meet with Sam and finds Cas needing help. Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...As their plans of leaving the city have come around, Eph, Nora and Zach are ready to board the train and travel to a safer place. Hearing that they will be on the final train out of New York since the National Guard will be taking over travel arrangements, the three are very lucky. But when hearing a gunshot ring out from behind the fence, the three know that the fight is still not over. After the train starts its long journey to safer pastures, it starts to encounter bumps along the tracks and what the conductor sees makes him slam on the breaks before the train can be derailed by the mass attack of Strigoi. Abraham and Fet find their way back into Alonso Creem’s house to bid on the Lumen, but find that the other interested party will not be attending and that Thomas Eichorst will be taking Palmer’s place. After verifying funds, the bidding war escalates quickly and before Alonso can catch his breath, the total reaches three hundred million dollars. Knowing that the bidding will not stop, Alonso checks the total funds available to determine the winner and Eichorst has the most. But before the old German is able to acquire the Lumen, his funds are cut off and he is left having to watch as Abraham takes the book out from under him. Eldritch Palmer is loving his day and the decision he has made to gain respect from both Eichorst and the Master. With Coco at his side, there is nothing that can frighten him as she has given him more than anybody ever has. Losing the Lumen to Abraham, Eichorst arrives at the rich man’s apartment and listening to his rantings, Eichorst has a surprise for the powerful couple. With the Master in attendance, Palmer is able to voice his demands straight to the one in charge, but the Master does not believe that anything should be changed at this point. Knowing that Palmer would be nowhere without his help and less of a nuisance without his new love, the Master takes Coco away from him and will leave the old man as weak as he was before. On the drive home from the auction, Fet and Abraham find themselves being attacked by a massive group of vampires. Thinking they were home free with the book, the two are shocked to see that Eichorst is attacking so quickly. With numbers not being in their favor, the two have to lock themselves in the heart of the van and when Fet lays down some covering fire, he sees that another group has joined the fight. Gus and his crew arrive and save the day in a manner of speaking and are able to take out the threat while Quinlan is able to talk to the Master through Eichorst. With rampant gunfire and the van being set to explode, the fight ends quickly, but the battle rages on. As the battle on the tracks starts, Eph gets separated from Nora and Zach and has to find them before it is too late. Taking out a couple of Kelly’s Feelers, he is rushing back to the station to meet up with them again. But Kelly is on the hunt for her son and when she finds him with Nora, she will stop at nothing to get him back. Nora will not go down without a fight and is able to gain the upper hand against Eph’s ex, but when she heads in for the kill, Zach is able to persuade her to stop. With Kelly basically beaten, she releases her stinger and bites Nora before the blade is able to take her head. As Zach watches in fear, he has his mother's back and follows her into the depths of the subway. Well, there you have it, the end of season two. It went out in grand fashion like it should have. I am a little bit disappointed that they took out the strong women in the story and now they will have to bring in some new ones, but I am not the one telling the story. Abraham and Fet have found some new friends in Quinlan, Gus and Angel as they are heading down river on their boat. Palmer has taken a note from Abraham and removed his love’s heart, the only organ that is still alive. Eph is on his own in the city after Nora took her own life by hitting the third rail. Kelly has gotten what she has wanted out of the darkness and Zach will remain with her until the end. Okay, well, I guess it will be a year before season three starts and the story continues, I don’t know if I can wait that long, but I guess I will have to. At least I have the books to fall back on until then to try and figure out what might be coming next. Stay Scared. Written by John Edward BetancourtIt was a wild season for The Walking Dead as we saw the Rick Grimes gang be shoved out into the world with no sense of direction or purpose and to top if off the group was still splintered with Beth missing. That storyline alone would lead to two of the most devastating deaths on the show in ages, and also brought this intrepid band of survivors to an oasis filled with hope at last. But will the safety in Alexandria last? We find out in the Season Six Premiere, but before that arrives let's look back at the group's adventures and heartaches from Season Five. Episode One: "No Sanctuary" Immediately following the Season 4 Finale, we pick up with the group still trapped at Terminus, and trouble is already brewing for Rick as Gareth's lackeys pull Rick, Daryl, Glenn and Bob from their train car to slaughter them for food. But it turns out that Carol is near and saves the day, laying waste to Terminus, and helping everyone escape before being reunited and welcomed back into the group by Rick. Episode Two: "Strangers" Back on the road once again the group finds sanctuary in a church after helping out a jittery priest named Father Gabriel. As they catch their breath, Gabriel lets them know of a food supply that Rick and a group bring back to the church. It seems that all is well, but that's far from the case. Carol and Daryl are separated from the group when Daryl discovers Carol trying to leave and then spots a car similar to the one that nabbed Beth, taking Carol with him to pursue it and it turns out Bob was bitten in the food raid before being kidnapped by Gareth and the Terminus survivors. They plan to hunt Rick and his group, and they have already started their hunt by capturing Bob and cutting off and eating his leg. Episode Three: "Four Walls and a Roof" The showdown begins between Gareth and Rick when the Terminus survivors return Bob to the church. As Rick takes a squad to dispose of them at night, Gareth arrives at the church to exact his revenge. But his plans go awry when Rick returns and kills Gareth in brutal fashion. Following the end of Gareth the group is split when Abraham takes some of the group to head to Washington D.C., while the rest stay behind to wait for Daryl. He returns shortly after Abraham leaves, with a mystery person in tow... Episode Four: "Slabtown" Beth awakens to discover that the car she encountered at the mortuary has brought her to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she finds a group of survivors, mostly made up of Police Officers and people that owe those officers a debt for being saved. She figures out quickly that this sanctuary is anything but, it is ruled by a tyrant known as Dawn and it seems that no one has ever repaid their debt, meaning she may be trapped here for some time. Especially after her attempted escape with Noah, a man she has befriended there, ends in failure for Beth but success for Noah, and to make matters worse, Beth sees an unconscious Carol being wheeled into the hospital as well. Episode Five: "Self Help" Following an accident on the road to Washington D.C., Abraham's group is doing their best to secure some kind of transportation to head to the nation's capital. But there seems to be complications all along the way, including the demon's from Abraham's past and the fact that in a moment of panic, Eugene reveals he isn't a scientist and knows nothing of a cure, prompting Abraham to beat him senseless. Episode Six: "Consumed" Carol and Daryl arrive in Atlanta at last, and begin to scout for Beth's location. Along the way we learn much about these two, especially their pasts and the hardships they have suffered before being robbed of their weapons by Noah. They eventually figure out that Beth has been taken to Grady Memorial, and they also cross paths with Noah again, saving his life but alerting Dawn's police force. Their attempt to hide leads to Carol being hit by a car, sending her to Grady Memorial with Beth and sending Daryl and Noah back to Rick and the group to arrange a rescue party for Beth. Episode Seven: "Crossed" Rick and a vast majority of the group head to Atlanta to figure out how to bring Beth home. As they formulate a plan, Abraham works to come to terms with everything that has happened, and Beth works to save Carol's life since a show of strength from Beth has nearly doomed her friend, and Father Gabriel escapes the church to get a better look at the world as it is now on his own. Upon arriving in Atlanta, Rick and the gang encounter some of Dawn's crooked cops and capture them, planning to use them as bartering chips. But one of them has ideas of his own, and knocks Sasha out in order to escape. Episode Eight: "Coda" The escaping officer has been dealt with, and Rick and the group have a plan to rescue Beth from Grady Memorial. As they prepare to put their plan into action, Abraham and the D.C. gang return to the church just in time to save Michonne, Carl, Judith and Gabriel from walkers that the good father brought back to the church in his travels, prompting all of them to help Rick in Atlanta. But the mission in Atlanta ends up going more smoothly than expected as the come within seconds of Beth being returned to them. But things go horribly wrong, and Beth is murdered in cold blood by Dawn, prompting Daryl to put Dawn down as well. The episode ends in brutal fashion as Abraham and everyone else arrive at Grady Memorial, just in time for Maggie to see Daryl bringing out the body of her baby sister. Episode Nine: "What Happened and What's Going On" Following the death of Beth, the group decides to help fulfill her last wish and take Noah home to his walled community in Virginia. The road trip however turns out to be a fruitless effort when they discover Noah's community has been decimated and in the process Tyreese is bitten by a walker and has his life flash before his eyes as the others race against time to try and get him care...and fail, burying the second person of their group in several days. Devastated, the group makes a decision to try for Washington, D.C. on the chance that there may be people, supplies and hope waiting for them there. Episode Ten: "Them" On the road to D.C., the group finds that bad has gone to worse as their vehicle breaks down and they are forced to walk on foot without any supplies. Slowly their morale begins to break down and to make matters worse, a gift of water in the middle of the road means someone is following them. Just when it seems that this may be the end of the road for the group as walkers descend on their shelter, a freak storm saves them all and the person who has been watching them...reveals himself. Episode Eleven: "The Distance" The stranger who has been tailing the group, identifies himself as Aaron when he meets Rick and lets the group know that he is from a town known as Alexandria where they have managed to survive the entire crisis to this point and tries to convince them to check the community out for a chance to live there. Rick is of course suspicious, but agrees to travel there on his own terms, leading to near disaster when he chooses his own route to take to the city. But it turns out that Aaron didn't lie and Alexandria is real and the group enters the city. Episode Twelve: "Remember" The group meets the leader of Alexandria, a former United States Senator named Deanna so she can learn more about their experiences out in the world of the dead before they are given a pair of homes to live in and finally get a chance to catch their breath. But their past experiences leave the group on edge, they don't know if they can trust these people and that only gets worse when Tara is nearly killed on a supply run thanks to the careless attitudes of the men in charge of the supply run. It leads to Rick realizing these people have never dealt with the harsh realities of the apocalypse and that it will be up to Rick and his people to either teach them...or rule over them. Episode Thirteen: "Forget" Now settled in, the group quickly discovers that they are having major trouble acclimating to some semblance of civilization after spending so much time out in the horrors of the world since Rick, Daryl and Carol continue to discuss being ready to seize the city in secret and during their meetings, they discover walkers with the letter "W" carved into their foreheads. But none the less they try their best, showing up a party thrown in their honor and all of them continue to take jobs in the community in an attempt to get back to a sense of normality. Episode Fourteen: "Spend" As life in Alexandria continues on, the group begins to not only settle into their new roles in the community, they actually manage to take charge. One by one they are quickly recognized as the best in their fields, especially after Abraham saves the construction crew from a walker attack. But while they look like heroes, trouble is brewing when Glenn and a group go out to get parts for the city's power grid, and cowardice and carelessness costs Noah and Deanna's son their lives and to make matters worse, Father Gabriel warns Deanna that Rick and the group are not what they seem. Episode Fifteen: "Try" The tension in Alexandria continues to build as Deanna investigates what happened to her son, only to get two different stories from the parties involved. But as she mourns, more trouble is brewing for Aaron and Daryl are finding more corpses with the mysterious "W" carved into their foreheads and Rick has discovered that Pete is beating his wife, Jesse. Rick's attempt to protect her backfires when he and Pete come to blows, their fight spilling out into the street and the fury inside Rick is exposed to the people of Alexandria as he scolds them all for being weak before Michonne knocks him out. Episode Sixteen: "Conquer" Deanna has decided that following the incident between Rick and Pete that the town needs to discuss what is to be done with Rick. As the debate begins, a bigger threat exposes itself to Aaron and Daryl as they track a potential addition to the city and stumble across a trap set by the people carving the letter "W" in walker's foreheads. They are known as the Wolves and thankfully Morgan is there to save both men, but not before the Wolves get pictures of Alexandria. Meanwhile Rick's fate is essentially decided when he takes down a pair of walkers that snuck into the city and gives an impassioned speech to the people as to how good they have had it and how dangerous this world has become. As if on queue, Pete arrives shortly after Rick's speech is concluded and in a drunken stupor kills Deanna's husband. It is enough to send Deanna over the edge and she has Rick execute Pete, at the exact moment that Morgan, Daryl and Aaron arrive. Okay, it’s somewhat Dean’s fault too. Mostly. Actually, no , Moose….you messed up bad. Last night’s Premiere of season 11 was long awaited and I can’t even begin to explain what I’m still feeling. Like, how in the world did it get this bad? So Dean killed Death (which I doubt he is really dead, but alright) and Sam did the spell to release Dean from the Mark of Cain thus releasing the Darkness. With the bits of flashbacks we get it seems that Dean was taken out of the Dark by the Darkness…which is a woman? I mean, hello Darkness, my name is Shae, nice to meet you. Which is totally what Dean is thinking, right? Releasing her seems like a bad thing though, or does it? She doesn’t know who Death is, doesn’t know what’s going on. She’d been locked away for so long….and Dean lets her go. She does hold the same Mark as he had, but hers is more of a tattoo, or birth mark, more than anything. So what’s going on? She thanks him for letting her out, and he doesn’t kill her. He doesn’t even try to stop anything from happening, and before we know it, it’s all over. Sam is getting out of the car and finds Dean half a mile away, unconscious. That’s not to say things aren’t….bad. Castiel is still under the influences of Rowena’s spell, so he does kill Crowley. Well, not really. Crowley escapes his body at the last minute and has some fun in the body of a middle aged woman for a bit, before he calls for help. Then he gets back into his body, which is good because I can’t handle Crowley being anyone else but Mark! In the meantime, Cas calls for help from the other angels…but they’re not there to help….which, can someone please save the Baby in a Trench Coat! Where’s Gabriel when you need him!? Sam and Dean come across an injured cop, and find out that people are infected with the Darkness…it’s short lived since it kind of ends up killing them, but it looks to be contagious too. They get the cop to a hospital, and find a man holding a new born…only the guy doesn’t survive. Leaving our new cop-lady-friend to be the baby’s new adopted mom. Dean’s determined to kill all these creatures, while Sam advocates to save them. Which, I’m not sure where I stand on this. In the end they split up, because Dean agrees with Sam. Which is stupid! In an effort to save his own life, Sam has to kill a possessed nurse…only her blood gets on him, and yep, those are black veins creeping up into his neck…good job Sam! And, to top it off, the baby, Amara (I think?) has an unusual birthmark on her left shoulder…Yep, that was our season opener. Is anyone else really concerned? Because, I am. Especially when you have demon henchmen informing Crowley that they think either Michael or Lucifer is trying to warn them about the Darkness from the cage. Is now a bad time to remind everyone that Adam is still in there too? Because he is…and the Darkness is loose and in the form of a baby, Sam is infected, Dean wants to murder everything, and Cas needs help! This show is going to just ruin me emotionally for life!.......Waiting until next week is going to be painful… Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...The battle between good and evil continues to rage on in New York, but now on the political front. Mayor Lyle is tired of Councilwoman Justine Feraldo's antics and wants her resignation before the day is out. After demanding one percent of the property value for the Upper East Side, Justine knows that none of the elite class will lay their lives on the lines and the police force that she is in charge of will. Needing to pay her force, Justine will not back down and after having the Mayor escorted from the building, she is shocked to hear that Mayor Lyle has been found dead. With a detective watching her every reaction, Justine needs to find out who pulled the trigger and make sure that it was nobody associated with her or her team. Dutch has made up her mind after almost becoming a seasoned meal for Thomas Eichorst and is looking for the words to put on paper to tell Fet, but before she is able to make her escape, the exterminator enters her room. Dutch wants to make it work between her and Nikki and although this will hurt her and Fet’s relationship, she has to do it. Fet does not put up much of a fight, the love he has for the hacker runs much deeper than even she can ever know. Arriving at Nikki’s mother’s house, Dutch sees that the two are packing up and about to leave town. Putting herself out there for Nikki to know how much she loves her, Dutch is shot down since she cannot ever be the homebody that she promises she can be. Gus has a plan to get a new group of hunters put together and with Angel along for the ride, the two hit up Gus’s old stomping ground. Arriving at the prison where Gus had spent eighteen months, the two find that the outer part of the building has been hit by the vampires, but the general population is still intact. Freeing his old comrades, Gus promises them half of the town if they follow his lead and work with Quinlan, but the inmates start to have second thoughts after receiving their freedom. Alonso has the Lumen in his possession and has contacted Abraham to come and verify that it is the real deal. After holding the book again and scanning the pages, Abraham is able to give his word that it is the genuine article and is ready to complete his transaction. But Alonso has another bidder and even though he will accept his finder’s fee for attaining the book, Palmer is now in the mix and whoever has the deepest pockets will be able to claim the book as their own. With twenty four hours before the auction takes place, Abraham has to find a way to secure the funds necessary to attain the Lumen and all payments must come in the form of gold. While eating breakfast, the apartment gets a phone call from one of the call centers that have been set up around town from Zach’s grandparents. With nothing happening in their side of the country, Eph has to come to the decision to send his son away to safety until he can unleash his bioweapon on the Strigoi. Talking with Justine about what he needs for safe passage out of the city for himself, Zach and Nora, Eph knows that he can end the threat when he returns. Being granted everything that he has asked for, Eph will be happy to return home and inform his son that he will no longer be involved in the fight against the Master and his mother will not be able to find him again. With the backstory being told about how Eph and Nora met back in 2005, it is great to see how the two got together. With the questions that Nora asked during the SARS outbreak, Eph knows that he needs someone just like her on his team and his good friend Jim Kent is not against it, but wants to make sure that Eph’s head is clear since he is still married and Nora is a very attractive woman. As the relationship builds, the bonding of the group is shown and on one faithful night when Jim passes out on the couch, Nora comes clean about what she and Eph have and she will not give up on him, no matter the price. Not a bad episode as you get thrown into the political battle between the Mayor and Justine, but there can be only one power over the city to keep it running. When the Mayor gets knocked out of the equation, Palmer steps in and shows his trust in the one woman that can lead the city to its grander state once again. Becoming her backer, Palmer has given everything at his disposal to her, but she does not see what will come from it. Palmer and Coco are happy with how things are going and now that he has a beat on the Lumen, he is ready to outbid his old friend/foe for it. But a visit from Eichorst changes everything when the couple find out that the ‘White’ they have been given from the Master is not permanent and they will need more to survive. Gus has his small army and reports back to Quinlan with the news, but is shocked when he is told that he will need to attain the Lumen after Abraham buys it, at any means necessary. The season finale is tonight and I cannot wait to see how it finishes up. Stay Scared. Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...One of the things that I am awful about doing when attending the Mile High Horror Film Festival is taking advantage of what they are bringing, THE FILMS!!! As a lover of the horror genre, I have to sit back and ask myself why it has taken me so long to understand that these are the festivals that feature the first screenings of movies that will be invading theaters later on in the year. To heck with it! I am going this year not only to see the stars and mingle with other fans of horror movies, I am going to watch a movie. So, with this new attitude, I have decided to watch a movie at Mile High Horror Film Festival on my first day and I was far from disappointed. I caught the second screening of Even Lambs Have Teeth and this movie made me very giddy and let me tell you why. With all of the movies I catch on Netflix or On Demand, I always believe there is something missing, a strong female lead, and this movie has two of them that are ready to kick ass and take names while doing it. Sloane and her uptight friend Katie are looking for a way to fulfill their dreams of heading off to New York City and do their favorite thing in the world, go shopping. Finding a job at an organic farm not too far from Katie’s uncle’s home, they will be able to work for a month and then have enough money to hit the Big Apple with a vengeance. Although Katie is a little bit uptight about almost everything, she is starting to let Sloane get inside of her head and when the situation arises to let loose, she might as well go with the flow. After getting a ride to the bus station from Katie’s Uncle Jason, he tells his niece that she will have to call or text him every day so he knows everything is all right. The two come up with a plan for a code word to be used every day and being a suspended FBI agent, he will know if something is wrong. Even though the girls are skeptical about this plan, they will play along since there is nothing that can go wrong when they are working at the farm. Saying goodbye, the girls find their way into the local coffee shop and start talking to some fine country boys, Jed and Lucas who fill out their jeans entirely too well. Being offered a ride up to their job by the boys, the girls cannot deny the offer and are given the ride of their lives. Being drugged at the boys' house by their mother, the girls wake up chained in storage containers with all of the amenities that they need to survive. But there is something more sinister going on than they could have ever expected. As Sloane and Katie start receiving daily visitors, the two have been thrust into a redneck sex traffic ring and need to find a way out. While talking to the leader of the group, Boris, the girls find out that they are in it for the long haul and have little chance of escaping. But Katie still has her safe word to use with her uncle and when being asked about her text messages and how to respond, the gives the directions that should get the girls saved. Little do the two girls know how deep the sex ring goes around town and when Uncle Jason starts asking the right questions, well let’s just say that things start to escalate. I will have to leave this here right now since the rest of the world has not seen this movie yet, but I can guarantee you that you will love how a simple stop at a hardware store can change a woman’s life. I loved watching how Sloane and Katie transform into someone that they thought they despised to get exactly what they need. With almost everyone in town in on what the brothers Jed and Lucas are doing, I cannot believe that nobody tried to put an end to it, but they seem to receive their own benefits in one way or another. I love the revenge tale that plays out and have no complaints about it, but maybe just a little bit more blood and gore. I would say that this movie has a little bit more of a seventies feel to it and even though there are cell phones used, there is not really any other sort of technology being referenced and that is what really makes it a fun ride. If you get the chance, make sure to head down to the Mile High Horror Festival and check out Even Lambs Have Teeth and if you are lucky enough to get in, you will actually have the chance to meet with a couple of the cast members and ask them your questions about the movie, their motivation and most importantly, where the pig mask went.
