Written by Scott Edwards Everyone needs a break from life at some point and there is no better time to get away than on Spring Break. Even when you get out of school, this can prove to be one of the more entertaining times to take a vacation. Knowing what you did as a kid and with a little bit more information about life, it is a great time to people watch and make new friends. You never know what you will find when hitting up a beach or an amusement park during Spring Break and more than once, you will find yourself happily surprised. Waking up after an all-night rager on the beach, Kaylee sees that she has spent the night with the lovable loser Mitch who is happy to be there. Looking outside and seeing her ex-boyfriend Jonah snuggling up with Chanda, along with Ronnie and Vance necking in the backset, everything seems fine, but there is nobody else left on the beach with them, except for Gilbert who is stuck in a trashcan. As the group is trying to come up with a plan of how to get home, Kaylee notices a bird that landed on the beach and sees that it has gotten stuck. Watching as the bird is taken under the sand, she knows that something is up and everybody needs to stay off of the sand. Trying to warn her friends about something strange happening, nobody believes her as Vance jumps out of the car to try and help a friend. Watching as the beach has eaten its next meal, the group starts to notice that anyone that slept on the sand is now gone, yet their belongings are still there. With their cell phones locked in the trunk of the car and the car’s battery dead, there may be no way to escape the killing zone. With nothing going according to plan, everyone tries to keep their heads, but watching as Gilbert is dying in the sun, they know that something must be done and waiting for help is not an option. Seeing what looks like an oversized broken egg on the beach, the group sees that they released the beast last night and while that is all well and good, they still need to find out how to escape it. Finding a spot where the sand is no longer deadly, a new plan is hatched, and Jonah is ready to put it into motion. Using his surfboards as a type of walkway, he is able to move harmlessly across the sand with no problem, but when the sand starts to take his boards away, it is ready to feed once again. Stinging Jonah in the belly and giving him massive lesions that burst, he is still alive, but worse for wear. Knowing that nobody will come to help them, the group is forced to try to come up with another plan of moving off of the beach, or at least getting to a phone to call for help. But the sand is hungry and it will pass up on no meals if it has a choice. A creature under the sand that traps and eats people, I mean come on, how much more realistic of a movie do you need. I was pleasantly impressed with how the movie played and loved the blood shots as people were being taken under. I was not a huge fan of the love story that kept revealing itself in the movie as it seemed too rudimentary, but you know what, you have to have a conflict to try and keep everyone happy. I felt so bad for big Gilbert being stuffed in a trashcan on the beach and not able to do anything throughout, I mean what a way to go. The characters were fun and you get some jokes, plenty of tension and lots of yelling about how stupid everyone is, just like when friends get drunk together. With your main horror elements covered, bikinis, blood, a monster and a silly cop, it is just a fun movie to watch that you don’t have to think too much about. Stay Scared. Five Takeaways

Written by Scott Edwards One of the things that we always seem to let go of when we get older is keeping up with our old high school friends. I know that social media has helped out with this over the years, but still for the most part when you hit a certain age, you start to let go of your youth. It is hard to keep a good relationship with all of your friends from childhood, mainly because when you finally become an adult, you become a different person. It is important to keep up with your friends of days gone by, since it makes it easier for you to know what kind of person you have become since then. Ready to help her friends out in setting up their high school reunion, Gaby is quickly having second thoughts about being a part of it when she sees that her ex-boyfriend Brad is going to be a part of the committee as well. But before she is able to pull out, her best friend Jade shows up and is able to convince Gaby to stay and be a part of the team. Not being able to leave when all of her other friends arrive, Gaby is stuck in a big house that does not seem big enough for her, but needing to make the best out of a bad situation, she is ready to have some fun. The old yearbook committee is back together and ready to make the reunion one for the ages. With Simone, Lamont, Jade, Freddie, DJ, Brad and his supermodel girlfriend Bella, along with Gaby, the group is ready to get everything done in one night. But there is a small problem in the back of their minds when the owner of the house Ray, and his high school squeeze Ashley, are nowhere to be found in the house and as night starts to set in, the group knows that they need to find their friends before they get hurt. Making their way down to the beach, Gaby finds Ashley’s body cut up and hidden in the electrical shack making everyone point their fingers towards Ray, who they think is losing his mind. Yet, not being able to find Ray as well is proving to be a problem and not having power in numbers may prove to be costly. As the group returns to the house to find Simone dead in the hot tub, the group knows that they are up against someone that knows a little something about them. Reading all of the 'Most Likely To' blurbs from their yearbook photos, each one has some meaning when it comes to the way they are going to be X’ed out by the killer. Not knowing who they are up against, the remaining people in the group are trying everything they can to survive. With no way of contacting the outside world, Jade is able to find the gun that Ray keeps around the house for self-defense, but that may not be enough when the true killer shows up to claim all of them dressed in his Papier-Mâché mask and wielding his box cutter of revenge... Just your classic high school slasher movie that takes place ten years after the fact, and is filled with remorse. I love how the storyline played out and the backstory of John Doe, who the group harassed for years, leading to his expulsion from school. Even though they all admitted to being a part of changing out his yearbook photo, which led him to snap, it seems like they feel bad about their decision, yet the grudge was never let go. With every character getting a good backstory, you start to feel like you are part of the crew, even when their issues come to the surface showing what they have done wrong in their lives. Not a bad way to tell a story, and you know what else is not a bad way to tell a story… adding a bloody ending. Box cutters, guns, gowns and even a graduation cap that is able to cut through anything, this is really the type of horror movie I can keep on my shelf for a night when I need to be entertained. Not only do they give you unconditional love and respect, but sometimes they are even willing to give you a new house, well, new to you. As some homes are always meant to stay in the family, you should know what all has gone on inside of the house before you claim it as your own. If you do not know about all of the skeletons in the closet, you may be in for a ride that you will never forget. Amy is more than excited to get a chance at owning a home and with her Aunt Margaret’s coming up on the market, she is ready to move in. Her cousin Gordon is not too happy about the idea however, knowing a little bit more about the house that has been on mothballs for over fifty years, but there is little that he can do to stop her. Opening up the house for a quick inspection, only a little graffiti is in the way of making the old house into a proper home for Amy and Luke who would like nothing better. With everything working the way it should, Amy is ready to start her life over again and no one is going to stop her. Heading off to the hospital to talk with Aunt Margaret about taking control of the house, Amy is not greeted the way she expects as her aunt is suffering from Alzheimer’s and does not know who her niece is. Grabbing Amy by the wrist and saying something in a foreign tongue, Margaret gives the young woman something from the past that will change her life going forward. A heart shaped planchette that has history in the house has been handed off to the next homeowner in line and while Amy does not understand what it means, she keeps the piece of wood with her because it must be important. Hearing strange bumps in the night in her current home, Amy is relieved that she is all packed up and ready to move into the new place tomorrow and cannot believe that her new home will be just that, a home for her to grow old in. Arriving at her new home, Amy tries to get some of her boxes inside before the rain hinders her task, but when the power goes out from a lightning strike, she is left only with her cell phone to illuminate the way. Trying her luck at the breaker box, she is not able to get the power turned back on and a strange banging is coming from upstairs that she is forced to investigate. Entering the only locked room in the house, she feels cold, but finds out where the knocking is coming from, but when she turns back to the door, she sees a face and is forced out of the room with a mark on her arm. With help from Luke and Gordon to get her keys back, Amy knows that there is something strange going on in the house and will need someone to help her figure it out and a local priest might be just the person to talk to. Talking with Father Halloran for a moment, Amy sees that he knows something that he is not telling her, so she is forced to take matters into her own hands and finds out what happened in her new home and that it may go beyond a simple haunting, since something that is related to the family name is making an effort to connect the past and the present... Interesting premise for the storyline as Amy goes back to her family’s home that she has never stepped foot in. I must admit that the main draw for me to watch this movie is that it was filmed in The Real Exorcist House where the idea for the novel, The Exorcist was spawned. Makes the story feel a bit more real, but I would really like to know what happened in the house during the filming, it would add a little more to the story that was brought to the screen. I liked how willing Amy was to open up to her man after strange things started to happen to her. The closed mindedness of Luke was priceless as he believed that Amy was going crazy and might need to be medicated. Exploring the different reaches of the spirit world, there is no stopping a demon from taking what it wants in this film, which is how evil is supposed to work and that is portrayed perfectly. Written by Scott Edwards It is funny how parents forget that they had a bit of a wild side growing up, especially when they are trying to teach their kids a lesson. But there has to be some trust given to your kids at some point, because if you don’t give it to them, they will just end up acting out just to spite you. Hopefully you know your child’s friends pretty well, so at least you have some sort of idea what trouble and mischief they will be getting into rather than going in blindly and eventually getting a call to pick them up from the police station. Waiting to meet her friend Ava at a party, Paige is shocked to find out that her best friend in the world will not be coming. With the party taking place in the haunted Borley Forest, Paige wants to leave, but is unable to find her ride, so she starts making the trek through the creepy woods. Thinking little about what is around her, she stumbles upon an old tree with a rope hanging from it. With no idea what this means, or what happened in the forest many years ago, she finds her way home only to be grounded for lying about what she was doing tonight. While having dinner with her family, her older brother joins and Tommy is surprised that his younger sister is in trouble. Trying to plead with his parents about the punishment, Tommy is unsuccessful and is forced to watch his little sister suffer. But Paige is alright and able to take care of her other commitments including her job. Bumping into Ava at her job, Paige lays into her making sure she understands how badly she feels betrayed. Going through her motions, she gets stopped by Cooper who is nice and funny, but Paige wants nothing to do with him. Warming up a little bit to the stranger after they talk for a bit, Paige cannot even consider dating him, due to the grounding and all, but he stays on her mind. Usually her room is a safe haven for Paige, but something has changed and being woken up in the middle of the night consistently now, she is barely ready to take on the day when she wakes up. But what really gets her motor going is when a strange message is written on the mirror in her bathroom while she was taking a shower. Having Cooper show up at the door right after it happened has does not fare well for the guy but knowing that she is having some troubles around the house, he backs off. With her parents going on vacation without her, Paige is left alone in the house under the supervision of her brother and his wife. Not being able to give his sister his complete attention due to work, Tommy rigs the security cameras around the house to make sure that his parents do not suspect him staying away. But there is something that Tommy wants to check out for the family as a mysterious flower delivery is given to his sister and when he finds the footage with nobody on it, he knows that there is something up at the house. Not being able to leave the house, Paige invites her friend Jenna over for a sleepover since she is lonely, but there is something else in the house with sinister ideas of what to do with the girls and when Jenna is frightened so badly to become catatonic, Tommy knows that the footage he found could be the answer to what is happening in the house. Knowing that the ghost in the house will not leave on its own, Paige is encouraged to find out why it is attached to her and what it wants, but all is not good when she finds out the truth and is all has to do with the Borley Forest, which has plenty of demons of its own. Not really the kind of poltergeist type movie I was expecting, but it was still fun to see people get attacked in a ghost movie. Every ghost story has a mystery surrounding it and this one was pretty good and even though it gets a little crazy as the end gets near, I liked seeing how the spirit interacted with the living. With plenty of ghostly shadows in her room, Paige has no idea what is really haunting her and when she finally has questions, well, they never get answered which is a shame. I am still blown away by the ghost hunter that gets called in to help, since he has never dealt with a real haunting before and how worthless he really is to the cause. The ghost attacks are priceless, even though they may be too powerful for a poltergeist to do, it will make you think twice about entering a haunted forest, especially for a silly party. Stay Scared. Written by Scott Edwards Everyone wants a good and safe way to have an adventure, and if they wind up getting rich in the process, so be it. Getting someone or something for nothing seems like the best way to get anything, but for some reason it does not work out for many people like that. Everything has a price, shoot, even the promise of going skiing for free requires you to listen to someone talk about a silly timeshare or something. Make sure to always read the fine print out there, as there is nothing that is absolutely free, not now, not ever. Just minding their own business on the line, King and Tyn are approached by Wex who has a proposition that they cannot refuse, the promise of becoming a couple of the richest convicts known to man. Wex knows that an old man buried himself with all of his worldly treasures and it would only take a couple hard bodies to pull it out of the ground. Although it seems too good to be true, King takes the bait and has a plan of how he and his good friend can get out of prison and secure their life of luxury. Tyn does not want to believe it, but with King’s excitement towards the hunt, he will have to join along, since his good friend is never allowed to have all the fun. Putting money and drugs in the right hands, King and Tyn are able to make it out of the prison unnoticed, but the further they get down the road, the harder the jailers are working to hunt them down. Killing the guards coming after them, the two men need to get a change of clothes and make it to the town where their future wealth resides. Stopping at a little farm where they see clothes hanging out to dry, the boys get what they need to blend in, but the farmer is none too pleased to see anyone on his land a puts a bullet in Tyn’s stomach. Not wanting to deviate from the plan the two are forced to make a detour to try and get Tyn fixed up before something bad happens. Calling on their old pal Travis who they went to jail for in the first place, King knows that the embalmer will help them out. But Travis has his sights on something bigger and when King leaves for the evening, Travis makes sure that Tyn tells him everything about the treasure before he passes away. With his group of boys, Travis takes Boo and Cletus to the cemetery to dig up their long overdue riches, but not knowing what they are looking for, along with not being alone, the group is forced to call it a night when King comes wandering in. With only a partial clue in hand, Travis needs to find the other half to make his wildest dreams come true, but little does he know that he is not the only survivor looking for gold and everyone is willing to go the extra mile to make sure the treasure is all theirs. When reading the description of this movie, I thought there would be more killing and such right away, and while there was some killing, it was spread out nicely. With nobody but bad guys looking for the infamous treasure, you do not feel too bad when they start passing on. Following the storyline, you get some great clues as to who is kin in this story, along with who might end up with everything in the end, and it is all enjoyable. When the bad accents are not bad enough to push me away from finishing a movie, it means that it was pretty good overall. I like a good mystery tied in with some killing and a treasure that people are willing to die over, just makes for a good ol' time. Stay Scared. Written by John Edward Betancourt Fall truly is a special time of year. Simply because the leaves begin to change, the air starts to cool down and most important of all, horror fans everywhere get their Halloween celebrations underway. For some, that involves breaking out the decorations and spook-ifying their home. For others, they simply get their detailed and amazing costumes ready for Sam Hain’s big night. But for a great deal of horror fans out there, they watch scary movies around the clock during this time of year and the nature of the season allows for that to happen, without anyone raising an eyebrow. And one particular streaming service that is helping fans everywhere accomplish that goal, is Shudder. Because they are hosting their ‘61 Days of Halloween’ event as we speak and well, this particular marathon of terrifying tales just got infinitely better with the news that dropped earlier today. Because Shudder let all of us know that on October 26, 2020… a special Halloween episode of Creepshow is going to air and we need to take a moment and properly discuss this forthcoming episode, since Shudder has pulled out all of the stops for this one. For starters, it is animated feature and it boasts some big time cast members in Keifer Sutherland and Joey King and they will be lending their talents to two intriguing stories from Stephen King and Joe Hill and here are some details from Shudder in regard to this special and the episodes in question: ‘Survivor Type,’ based on the short story by Stephen King and adapted by Greg Nicotero, stars Sutherland as a man determined to stay alive alone on a deserted island no matter what the cost. ‘Twittering from the Circus of the Dead,’ based on the short story by Joe Hill and adapted by Melanie Dale, stars King as a teen whose family road trip includes a visit to the gravest show on earth. “Halloween wouldn’t be complete without Creepshow, so with the help of the father and son team of Stephen & Joe as well as a fantastic animated format, we get to continue the tradition and spirit of Halloween,” said Nicotero. “Although season 2, now in production, has been delayed due to Covid, Greg and his team were still able to pull off this fantastic special so everyone will be able to enjoy a little bit of Creepshow during Halloween season,” said Craig Engler, Shudder’s General Manager. But while those descriptions alone should get us excited for this special, since the King family always delivers, the animated aspect of this episode deserves a little more attention. Because that means, that Director Greg Nicotero has no restrictions in what he can accomplish visually with these stories, and that means we are in for one gory and terrifying special from one of the finest horror television shows out there right now. Which means this writer will be counting down the days to this special, because at long last Creepshow is back on the airwaves and this should only add to the wonder of Halloween and help to tide us over, until season two of this magnificent series returns. The 'Creepshow' Halloween Special premieres on Shudder on October 26, 2020. Written by Scott Edwards Back in 1946 the town of Texarkana had a killing spree that nobody that lives there will ever forget. Then a movie came to light in the seventies, recreating the gruesome deaths that had the title, The Town That Dreaded Sundown. And it became tradition, after most of the original town members had died off, that the film gets played every year and so many of the kids in the town go to be entertained, yet, they do not know the history behind it, or that the events being played in front of them are based on what really happened. What a tradition to have in a little town that has two of everything, I kind of wish that my town had more of a sense of history like that, but without a killer and all. While at the drive in theater and watching The Town That Dreaded Sundown, Jami is starting to feel like she does not belong. Asking her date Corey to take her away, Jami has something else on her mind and when making their way to the old lover’s lane, she is ready to make good. But when looking out of the car window and seeing a masked man that resembles The Phantom from the movie, she knows it is time to go. Not moving fast enough, the couple is held at gun point and forced to exit the safety of the car and Jami is forced to watch the demise of her new boyfriend. Being given a message before she is sent on her way, Jami has become the new survivor of The Phantom Killer who is about to pick up where he left off so many years ago. Telling her story to the police, Jami wants to know more about who and what is behind the killings and even though they have their own leads from the original case, the soon to be college student has decided to do some digging of her own. Hitting up the town's archives and finding as much information on the original case that she can, she is able to put together some great guesses as to who the killer could be now, but the police have traveled down that rabbit's hole as well and have already eliminated the suspects. Getting a call from the killer, Jami knows that there is something else driving him to bring his reign of terror back to the town, she just needs to find someone that has a little bit more information about what really happened in 1946 since there are very few people left in town from that generation. Nick at the records department has taken a liking to Jami’s search and is going out of his way to help her find anything that she has not found yet. With the killer still running free in Texarkana, the two need to move fast or else someone else will die a meaningless death. Finding out that the son of the director that brought The Town That Dreaded Sundown still lives in town, the two are blown away by the facts that he is able to send their way. With suspects being locked up on both sides of the border, a killing had gone unnoticed by everyone and now Jami has a primary suspect in mind, but her time in town is limited after her grandmother is ready to move her to the coast and away from all of the madness. Turning her findings over to the police is the best that Jami can do before she leaves, but when you are born in Texarkana, most of the time you will die there as well and The Phantom Killer will do anything to keep her from getting away. More of a homage type of movie to the original Town That Dreaded Sundown, and if you think about it that way, it is not half bad. With The Phantom Killer coming back out of hiding, or his spirit being resurrected, Texarkana is forced to repeat what they did over sixty years earlier, go into lock down. Bringing in the Lone Wolf from the Texas Rangers to help with the investigation, he is forced to take a look at the town and its history, along with the movie that drove many people to madness. One of the things that I could not believe is that there are very few people in the town from the 1946 murders and nobody has any insight, just seems like there should be a historian there or something. With plenty of blood, the original movie is reenacted with ease as The Phantom Killer returns and is looking to get even for all of the years he has been forgotten. There is even a love story that gets cut short, since there is no love to be had in the town, especially when The Phantom Killer is loose and looking for his next kill. Stay Scared. Five Takeaways
Written by John Edward Betancourt It is outright safe to say, that every single person involved with a brand-new television series, hopes for longevity and adoration when their new story hits the airwaves. Because who wouldn’t want to be involved with a T.V. show that fans cannot get enough of, and that lasts for years on end? For that means that everyone behind the scenes has tapped into something that resonates with people on a fundamental level. But sadly, that hope is rarely realized in the industry, since television shows can and will fade from the lineup on a moment’s notice. But while that is an unfortunate and harsh reality of the business, there are some shows out there that grant the wish of those involved and stay on the airwaves for a good long time, and the best of the best… even begin to expand into an outright universe and when that happens; the original show in this new saga, becomes nothing short of a legend. For the series in question is in essence a trailblazer now, one that sets the tone for the new stories being born within in its respective world and one series that meets this particular qualification is The Walking Dead. Because after a decade of bold storytelling, one that gave rise to a prequel/sister series in Fear the Walking Dead, another new entry in this horrifying universe is coming to life on October 4th by way of The Walking Dead: World Beyond and well, we have some spoiler free thoughts to bring you in regard to this new series, specifically, why you should tune in. Because it turns out that this particular chapter in the TWD saga is going to be quite the incredible adventure, one that explores elements that the other shows have been unable to thus far. A feat that this particular series accomplishes by taking us into uncharted territory for this franchise. Because in this particular tale we are introduced to a city where people survived the end after all and enjoy much of the creature comforts that existed in the world before the dead returned to life and attacked the living. Which at first glance makes it seem as though this is a story about starting over and what that looks like and therein lies the surprise. For rather than simply show us people getting by and putting the pieces back together, the dynamic characters we meet here, who are indeed young adults; have questions about this world and their future. Because a world where death has no meaning, and where survival is paramount, changes one’s views of what tomorrow looks like and the questions that these characters ask about all of those notions; is what allows for this show to dive deep into philosophical concepts that the TWD Universe has always flirted with. The kind that quite frankly explore the meaning of life, and how one finds purpose and direction in the midst of a crisis and that is downright brilliant to find within the framework of a zombie story and the wonder of this new series doesn’t end there. Because this is also a story about the power of trauma, and how it hangs with us in ways we never think are possible and how we sometimes have no choice but to confront it, even when crisis surrounds us. Which makes this perhaps the most intimate and relatable TWD story to date since these are elements in life that everyone has to deal with at some point. But, while it is quite delightful to settle in and enjoy a series that features depth and meaning on a George Romero-esque level, we’ve yet to answer an important question that everyone likely has in regard to this series… is it scary? As it turns out, the answer to that question is a resounding yes. Because all philosophy lessons aside, the walking dead in this series, or ‘Empties’ as they are called, are a legitimate and terrifying threat once they arrive in this tale. Simply because the main characters have never had to face this kind of hazard before, since they've been living in relative safety their entire lives, and the horror the dead provide is further enhanced by a grand sense of danger that permeates the fabric of this series. Something that is nurtured by the world we step into with our intrepid heroes as they begin their journey and well, that makes this premiere and the entire series as a whole, a must-see for certain. Because this really is the TWD Universe at its finest since it offers a grand exploration of the human condition and a compelling story wrapped in doom. But what is truly amazing about this new series, is that it provides the audience with a grand sense of anticipation and curiosity for that matter as well. Because this really is uncharted territory for the franchise, and we don’t know who is good or who is bad or what we will find in a world where the dead now rule, since safety and community are paramount to the other shows in this franchise and that is going to make one for incredible viewing experience. One where we are outright required to just sit back and enjoy the ride. For much like our intrepid characters, we are at the mercy of fate, and it is going to be quite incredible to see what horrors and victories await our newfound friends, as they make their way through a world they simply don’t understand. Written by Scott Edwards Living in a small town can definitely have its perks. You are able to find help whenever you ask for it, you know everybody by name and there is always a way to pay somebody back, even if you don’t have any money. It says a lot about small communities, but it also comes with its downside, as there is always a member of the town that nobody will ever listen to or help since they have been shunned by someone or everyone in town. In the town of Texarkana, Arkansas, everything seems to be going according to plan. Everyone is able to go about their business without a care in the world, and even the kids are able to find quiet spots around town to get away from their parents without having a search party come out to find them. Nothing bad ever happens in the town, until one rainy night when a masked man decides to change all of the rules. Attacking a couple off of lovers lane, the masked man left two people to tell his story, but he is not through yet. When is second couple is found shot to death in the woods off of a secluded road, the police have ramped up their efforts in finding the man and have decided to call in extra help. Being able to get one of the best man hunt officers in the business, the law enforcement of Texarkana is ready to find the masked man and put an end to his evil reign. With Captain J.D. Morales leading the hunt, everyone in town feels more secure and is almost willing to go back out as there has not been an attack in almost a month, but as the twenty first day comes about and another couple is found dead inside the city limits, fear takes over. With the town on lockdown, there seems to be no way for the ‘Phantom’ to strike, but as a true killer does, he is able to find his next mark. With nobody safe in the city, it is up to the transplanted Captain and all of the officers around town to find this masked individual before he kills again. With only a window of time to look at and nothing else, the officers are faced with a task that could take them a lifetime to figure out. The Town That Dreaded Sundown is a loosely based on a true story surrounding a serial killer called the Phantom that terrorized a small town on a specific night. With his attacks coming every twenty-one days and only in secluded areas, the killer is very careful and leaves no clues at the crime scenes. As the man hunt comes into full effect in Texarkana, an out of area officer comes in and tries to put everyone at ease but come to find out that he has no idea as to the person under the mask. As many nights pass and no suspects are ever brought into question, the town sits in fear of who the next target will be. Although this is an older film, it still delivers the chilling message of not knowing what could really happen. As each couple decides to chance fate by going out after sunset, they all had a choice and did not believe that the threat was real. Watching how the police tried to take control of the situation was good, but them having to admit that they have no idea what is really going on makes you wonder how would we respond, if an event like this ever happened again. Stay Scared. Written by Scott Edwards One of the things that I loved when I was a little younger, was going to the bank when pay day came around. With great people working behind the counters, it was the highlight of my day every couple of weeks to walk in, fill out a bank slip and get some of my hard-earned cash to put in my pocket. Alas, those days have pretty much gone away with technology and direct deposit, but every once in a while, going in and seeing the tellers is great. There is something about the human interaction that makes going to the bank so much fun, that, and getting a handful of cash from them without having to rob the place. Going to the bank to try and secure a loan to buy her father’s farm, Vivian is not having much luck since she has no collateral to put down. Taking her lumps from the loan officer, Vivian tries to leave with a smile on her face, but the insults thrown her way will not allow her to do so. Little does Vivian know that Joe Clay and Lenny are outside, casing the bank for the perfect daytime robbery that will keep them on a path of riches, rather than going back to the poor house and heading back to jail. When entering the bank, the two men have their plan worked out, but as it goes in life, something goes wrong and they find themselves on the run from the police with a hostage in tow. As Lenny dies in the back seat of the car during their getaway, ‘Scorpion’ Joe has found a way to elude the police car chasing him and has found a place to dump the body. But Lenny is a big sucker and Joe will need to get some help to get him out of the car. Releasing Vivian from his trunk to help, Joe sees that the young woman has plenty of fight in her, but her strength will need to be focused on helping him rather than trying to escape his clutches. With Lenny’s body out of the car, Joe is ready to make his way to Mexico with Vivian, but the clear road ahead of them is filled of terror as one of the tires on the car mysteriously blows out. Inspecting the tire and finding a bullet wedged in it, Joe takes a look around the desert terrain and sees no one, but there is someone watching him. With Vivian handcuffed inside of the car, she is forced to watch her captor get killed in front of her very eyes and hopes that the killer will set her free. But when Wyatt Moss comes to talk to her, Vivian quickly finds out that he is not a Good Samaritan, but someone that is looking to play a game with her that she is not accustomed to. Waking up in an unfamiliar area, Vivian walks through Wyatt’s carnival of death and sees that she is not the only one that has been put on this sinister ride. Not knowing where she is or how to get help, following her instincts may be the only way she gets out alive. When you think that a movie is going to take you one way, before it hits the breaks and turns the story to a new hero you did not expect, it makes for a great viewing experience. I really thought that the Joe Clay story would have been a little more prominent, but seeing his head get blown off and Vivian on her own against a desert mad man, well, what a ride. Not being afraid to do what must be done to survive, Vivian is just a great character to follow and even though she could have ended the affair earlier in the movie, her fight does not quit and she is always ready for battle. With a little bit of blood, plenty of self-reflection and the feeling that everyone will die, this is really a fun movie to lose yourself into and hope that the hero is victorious against the crazy man in the desert.
