Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...The battle between good and evil continues to rage on in New York, but now on the political front. Mayor Lyle is tired of Councilwoman Justine Feraldo's antics and wants her resignation before the day is out. After demanding one percent of the property value for the Upper East Side, Justine knows that none of the elite class will lay their lives on the lines and the police force that she is in charge of will. Needing to pay her force, Justine will not back down and after having the Mayor escorted from the building, she is shocked to hear that Mayor Lyle has been found dead. With a detective watching her every reaction, Justine needs to find out who pulled the trigger and make sure that it was nobody associated with her or her team. Dutch has made up her mind after almost becoming a seasoned meal for Thomas Eichorst and is looking for the words to put on paper to tell Fet, but before she is able to make her escape, the exterminator enters her room. Dutch wants to make it work between her and Nikki and although this will hurt her and Fet’s relationship, she has to do it. Fet does not put up much of a fight, the love he has for the hacker runs much deeper than even she can ever know. Arriving at Nikki’s mother’s house, Dutch sees that the two are packing up and about to leave town. Putting herself out there for Nikki to know how much she loves her, Dutch is shot down since she cannot ever be the homebody that she promises she can be. Gus has a plan to get a new group of hunters put together and with Angel along for the ride, the two hit up Gus’s old stomping ground. Arriving at the prison where Gus had spent eighteen months, the two find that the outer part of the building has been hit by the vampires, but the general population is still intact. Freeing his old comrades, Gus promises them half of the town if they follow his lead and work with Quinlan, but the inmates start to have second thoughts after receiving their freedom. Alonso has the Lumen in his possession and has contacted Abraham to come and verify that it is the real deal. After holding the book again and scanning the pages, Abraham is able to give his word that it is the genuine article and is ready to complete his transaction. But Alonso has another bidder and even though he will accept his finder’s fee for attaining the book, Palmer is now in the mix and whoever has the deepest pockets will be able to claim the book as their own. With twenty four hours before the auction takes place, Abraham has to find a way to secure the funds necessary to attain the Lumen and all payments must come in the form of gold. While eating breakfast, the apartment gets a phone call from one of the call centers that have been set up around town from Zach’s grandparents. With nothing happening in their side of the country, Eph has to come to the decision to send his son away to safety until he can unleash his bioweapon on the Strigoi. Talking with Justine about what he needs for safe passage out of the city for himself, Zach and Nora, Eph knows that he can end the threat when he returns. Being granted everything that he has asked for, Eph will be happy to return home and inform his son that he will no longer be involved in the fight against the Master and his mother will not be able to find him again. With the backstory being told about how Eph and Nora met back in 2005, it is great to see how the two got together. With the questions that Nora asked during the SARS outbreak, Eph knows that he needs someone just like her on his team and his good friend Jim Kent is not against it, but wants to make sure that Eph’s head is clear since he is still married and Nora is a very attractive woman. As the relationship builds, the bonding of the group is shown and on one faithful night when Jim passes out on the couch, Nora comes clean about what she and Eph have and she will not give up on him, no matter the price. Not a bad episode as you get thrown into the political battle between the Mayor and Justine, but there can be only one power over the city to keep it running. When the Mayor gets knocked out of the equation, Palmer steps in and shows his trust in the one woman that can lead the city to its grander state once again. Becoming her backer, Palmer has given everything at his disposal to her, but she does not see what will come from it. Palmer and Coco are happy with how things are going and now that he has a beat on the Lumen, he is ready to outbid his old friend/foe for it. But a visit from Eichorst changes everything when the couple find out that the ‘White’ they have been given from the Master is not permanent and they will need more to survive. Gus has his small army and reports back to Quinlan with the news, but is shocked when he is told that he will need to attain the Lumen after Abraham buys it, at any means necessary. The season finale is tonight and I cannot wait to see how it finishes up. Stay Scared.
