Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...I am not going to lie, I am upset to see this season come to an end. I have been rather enjoying watching it and it has been an honor having you read my recaps. I am happy to see that it has been brought back for a second season and cannot wait to see what they do with the story, but before then, I think it would be good to put out some of my final thoughts on the series and what it has brought to the small screen for everyone’s enjoyment. I would like to take a couple of seconds to talk about the characters that have been gracing the small screen in this series. First, I will have to talk about Matt Murdock, our lead character. Even though he has been partially blinded, he is still able to see, even if it looks like the world is on fire. I am not going to say that this helps him fight, since he is always wearing something over his eyes, but it does give him an advantage while talking to people to see what their reactions really are. And then with his added abilities to hear everything that is happening around him, he has been able to utilize it to find out more about the situation than seeing can provide. Watching him grow up and having to fight with his inner demons was great in the first season, and hopefully it continues into the next one with a little bit more backstory involving Stick's training of him. Who did not fall in love with Karen Page in this series? Because I know that I did. Being framed by Union Allied from the get go, she was going to be the greatest scapegoat, but there is nothing anyone could do to hold her down. Taking a position with Matt and Foggy was the best choice she could have made. With plenty of eyes on her, she is still able to get away to find what she is looking for, no matter the cost. She has become a very powerful character in this series and does not want anyone to look after her, even though she needs it. I must admit, that her pulling the trigger and killing Wesley was the defining moment her character's coming of age and I hope she does not back down from anything that may be forthcoming in the series for fear of hurting anyone again. Foggy Nelson, oh what can I say about Foggy? Although he is supposed to be comic relief, he is really so much more than that. Even with everything that is going on in the city, he is far from someone that will lay down in a fight. Even when Hell’s Kitchen is in flames around him, he contains a little bit of that hero aspect and wants to make sure that everyone is all right. But Foggy really is a hero when it comes to keeping his first client Karen from being hurt. With a softball and a bat, Foggy can kick some major bad guy butt. But the story line seems to be fading away of the Foggy and Karen show since he is hooking up with his ex that was able to provide some very valuable information that helped take Fisk down. Now let’s take a quick look at the big bad of the show, Wilson Fisk. Most people do not like this character in the series since he does not really show his killer attitude at all times. This is something that I will ponder about long after writing this, but what I saw in the series is that he is trying to resurrect himself to be more of a pillar of the community, not a killer. Wanting to live the normal life seems to be what he really wants, but when being in charge of the crime syndicate, it will never be in his grasp. Wanting to show the love of his life that he is human and not the brute everyone is trying to make him out to be seems to be the mask he is hiding behind. I wish there was more about him and his history in the series, I cannot lie about that and a reason why he is at the top of the mountain, rather than Madame Gao or Nobu, but I guess we will have to wait and see what happens with him when he gets out of prison. One of my favorite things about this series is how everything seems to revolve around Leland Owlsley. But what I do not understand is why you never get to know anything about him. Being a mob accountant seems to work fine for him as he is able to move money all around and make it disappear without anyone batting an eye, but when it comes to light that he is stealing and trying to get Fisk back on track, you want to know more about the man. With all of the connections that Fisk has, Leland was probably the most powerful man in Hell’s Kitchen, but he only tried to show it once and that got him killed. I wanted to know more about the plans he had made with Madame Gao, but I guess it will have to wait until she returns from her home land with a new plan to dethrone whomever is in power. What about my favorite reporter, Ben Urich? I loved the way Ben was brought to life in this series. He has his ear to the ground and knows plenty about what is happening in his city, but needs a push to make something happen. Even though he has been a writer at the paper for many years, he continues to get push back from the higher-ups and that makes him believe that there is something else behind it. With help from the man in the black mask, Ben is able to expose what happened with Union Allied and clear Karen’s name of murder, but that is not enough for the man, he needs more. With Karen at his side, he knows that what he is getting himself into will be dangerous, yet he continues to do it because the truth must be known by his readers. All the while, as he tries to take care of his ailing wife, Ben shows how much he loves his job, along with what is most important to him when it comes to his life. I was devastated to see him go at Fisk’s hands, but as his wife told Karen, he knew what he was getting himself into and died doing what he did best, bringing the truth to his readers. Then there's my favorite baddie, James Wesley, Wilson Fisk’s right hand man. It was apparent from the get go in the series that Wesley was more than just a stooge to the big man, but a trusted advisor. Doing whatever he could to make his boss’ life better, Wesley was there to do it. Recommending the right wine, to treating cops, to even killing someone with sensitive information, Wesley was the man to do it all. Being trusted with all of the affairs at hand, he knows more about Fisk than anyone else does and makes sure to keep it that way. When getting word about others in the organization trying to play his boss, he was able to cut off the nasty head of the matter before it even appeared. With the world at his disposal, Wesley also understands what his employer needs, and could make things happen to bring the smile onto the large man’s face again. Although he notices the trouble that Fisk is getting into with his business partners, he will not leave the man’s side, since there is one thing that Wesley is, loyal. One of the things that I love when it comes to a show or movie that I get into, are the storylines. Daredevil did not lack in this at all. There were a couple of holes that I noticed, but they were not big enough to complain about since the season ended with a bang. I cannot wait and see what the second season will bring to the small screen and what characters will be introduced to Hell’s Kitchen. Finally seeing the suit and where everyone is at at the end of the season, with the exception of Vanessa, there will be hell to pay in the Kitchen for what has happened to Fisk, but how it will come down will be the true question. Well, I hope you all enjoyed the write ups that have been put up about the series and know that I am looking for another one to get into, so if you have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to shoot me a line. Until next time, keep turning the pages, because the ending is just a heartbeat away.

Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Life is full of issues, some which are easily taken care of, while others take up much more time to resolve. No matter what the problem is, it needs to be corrected within a certain amount of time, since if you don’t, it only gets to be worse. Prioritizing the issues is something that more people need to figure out, since the harder things to fix and take up the most time to do so are saved for last, but they are usually the most important. No matter the issue, no matter the severity, it warrants your attention and no matter how long it takes to get resolved, it needs to be taken care of before it turns into something much worse. Ben Urich is being laid to rest and nobody is feeling worse about it than Karen. Thinking that it is her fault for pressuring the reporter to further investigate her story, she takes a moment to talk to his widow. Knowing that her husband could not be forced into anything he did not believe in, Doris tells Karen that it is fine and that she should not be burdened with the loss. Talking with the priest, Matt is sitting in his guilt since he did not know about what was going to happen and that he was not there to save Ben from his untimely death. Even though the priest does not agree with the actions that Matt has taken in the past, he knows what the man is capable of and anything to help the city from any further loss of life would be smiled upon. Wilson Fisk is going over his finances when he finds that a large sum of his money is missing. Bringing it up with Leland, the accountant says it is nothing more than moving the missing funds from place to place to avoid the SEC, but Fisk knows that the man is lying. Leland is not afraid of Fisk and what he can do and comes clean about everything that he has been doing, even trying to kill Vanessa. Telling the powerhouse about what he plans to do when leaving the city, Leland also tells him about the ace he is holding, Detective Hoffman. Not caring about the money that has been taken from him, Fisk is more upset about the attempt on his love's life. Taking Leland out of the equation, Fisk now has to find a way to locate the wayward detective before he comes clean to the police about what he has been doing for Fisk for the past year. When visiting the police station, Matt and Foggy are trying to get any information about the fire that took out a heroin ring earlier in the week. But Matt’s ears are focused elsewhere when he hears the name Hoffman mentioned by an exiting officer. Knowing that the detective is still in the city and with the information provided by Marci about Fisk, the group is in a race against time to find the detective before Fisk is able to put a bullet in his head. Finding a building that has been erased from the files, Matt starts his search and when he hears gunfire outside of the abandoned building, he knows he is in the right place. Being able to secure Hoffman before he is killed, the man in the black mask gets him to the police station safely on one condition, his statement. As Detective Hoffman’s statement is made, Fisk’s world comes crumbling down. With Hoffman spilling his guts on who else is on the powerhouse’s payroll, the FBI swoops into action around Hell’s Kitchen and starts arresting everyone last one of Fisk’s assets. Knowing that he is in a race against time as well, Fisk is able to give Vanessa instructions on what to do in his absence, but he knows that it will not be for too long. As his payroll runs deeper than even Hoffman knows, Fisk is able to escape from his armored escort and make his way to freedom with his love. But when hearing about this, Matt knows that the man has to be stopped and must never be allowed to vacate the city. Dawning his new outfit and toys, Matt is ready for battle against Fisk and as round two between the men squares off, there is nothing more than blood oozing down the alley way. The final episode of the season and I am sad to see it go. This was a great way to finish it and I was happy that there was another faceoff between Fisk and the now known Daredevil to fight for what is right in Hell’s Kitchen. It is easy to see that the story has not ended, it is far from over as Vanessa seems to be in charge of what is happening in Fisk’s absence, but who knows how far she will be willing to go to get him freed from prison. Matt, Foggy and Karen have ended on a high note and they should be good to go for quite a while with not a care in the world. With everyone talking again and Foggy ragging on the new nickname for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, it appears that they are happy and will have nothing holding them back from stopping crime in their city, by using the law and Matt’s fists. No more episodes for me, I will have to find something new to watch until Daredevil comes back for its second season. If you are able to get more than one person to view anything that you have done, regardless of what you are writing, it is a victory. But if these people believe what you have written and know that it is fact, then you have formed something much more powerful than just yourself, you have made a connection and nothing can take that away. As long as you have a group of loyal readers, they make sure that your writing will never go unread, along with passing on what you have written via their own means. Your words could be passed on much further than you ever expected and when you hear it come back to you in casual conversation, it does make your day a little bit brighter. Wilson Fisk has been put on the ropes, but is slowly moving off of them. With Vanessa waking up in the hospital, Fisk is feeling better about his life and choices since she will never leave him, no matter what happens. But there is something in the air that is not right when he gets word that his men have found Wesley. Rushing to be at his friends side, Fisk cannot contain his anger towards whomever is coming after him and his friends. Knowing that Wesley’s last call was made to his mother, Fisk decides to move her out of her retirement home to a place where nobody will be able to find her. Asking what she remembers about her visitors that caused this interruption, he finds out that one of Hell’s Kitchen’s own has uncovered something that he should never have stumbled upon. Karen is close to losing it after shooting Wesley. Not wanting to believe that anything bad could happen to her after going against Union Allied was foolish and now that she has found the golden egg when finding Fisk’s mother, she knows that things will be heating up. Urging Ben Urich to print anything and everything that they have found on Fisk, Karen needs a friend more than ever, but with Matt and Foggy fighting, she does not know who she can turn to. Although Foggy has shown that he can be the man who can keep her safe from anyone, Karen is too afraid to confide in him what has happened and what trouble she is actually in. Foggy is keeping up on the case and is playing all of his aces to find answers about what is happening around Hell’s Kitchen and what Fisk is really up to. Talking to an old college girlfriend, Marci who is working at a larger firm, Foggy has to convince her that something at the offices is not right. Showing her all of the files he, Matt and the man in the black mask have uncovered on the man, Marci’s eyes start to get opened, but that might not prove to be a good thing. Since her firm works for Fisk and his goons, she has a conflict of interests in discussing his affairs, but Foggy is trying his hardest to make sure she knows that there are people around the city that can protect her, as long as she is not on the payroll as well. Matt is running around the city, still looking for answers. After finding out about the drug trade that has been going on in Hell’s Kitchen, along with who was running distribution for it, he knows that Fisk’s hands are in everything. But there is someone else who is in charge of the drugs and Matt will have to find out who is at the top and burn them out. Being able to detect a drug mule, Matt is able to follow them to their hide out and expose the boss of the blind business, Madame Gao. After confronting her, Matt sees firsthand how powerful the old woman is and what her people will do to not disappoint her. Enough beating around the bush, here is the main story from the episode and it all revolves around Ben Urich. Although Ben does not have enough to print the stories that Karen has been able to get him, he is starting to change his tune. With the young woman begging him to get anything about Fisk in the paper, he is starting to look at another way to tell the story. Along with another visit from the man in the black mask, Ben is trying to help where and when he can, but does not know all of the ins and outs of what is happening in the city, but knows the direction to send someone looking to make a splash. After talking with his editor about the story that could expose Fisk, at least to show a little bit of the monster he is to the public gets shot down, Ben gets fired for speaking the truth. Not wanting to let the story die, Ben looks to write a blog, with everything that he knows up to this point. He does not care about what happens to him from a legal standpoint since he no longer has anything to lose, but a large visitor in his apartment may change his mind about that…the hard way. This episode went too fast for me, but it covered so much in such a short time. As Matt is able to find out more about the drug trade around Hell’s Kitchen and how the loss of the Russians would have put a lot of money on the table for someone to take, he knows that Fisk has to have his hands in it somewhere. Karen is a mess and I do not know how she will be able to come back from what she has done, especially without her support group of Foggy and Matt. The friends will not even look at each other, much less talk to one another and that is pulling more than their relationship apart. Ok, spoiler and I am mad as hell about it. They killed off the only voice of reason for Matt and Karen when Fisk finds out that Ben Urich brought his mother into the equation. Two of my favorite characters are now off of the show and I will never get to see them again. One I guess was justified and the other was at Fisk’s hands once again. Oh well, one more episode to go and then I will be allowed to let myself shed a tear for our newly fallen comrade. Also a new player has shown up that is looking to take Fisk out, but I will not bring that up until he gets exposed to the big guy. Written by John Edward BetancourtTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Every single I show I watch has that one episode. The one where everything comes together in perfect fashion and you come to realize that the show has finally found its soul if you will. All the things that it was and will become come together in that episode and when that nexus of awesome plays out on your television screen, you're left with one satisfying experience. That's exactly what happened on the season two finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last night because "S.O.S." was absolutely incredible. This is an episode that not only packed in plenty of amazing action sequences and an enthralling plot that involved an unfortunate and unnecessary battle with the Inhumans thanks to Jiaying and the buckets of crazy that comes with her, but this is also an episode that wrapped up so much in a neat little bow and managed to ensure sweet redemption for so many characters, and at the same time made sure all the villains got their just desserts as well. It's those amazing story arcs for the characters I want to focus on today because man...it made for some beautiful storytelling. Might as well start off with how one villain got exactly what he deserved because Ward was well overdue for it. After spending a better part of the show torturing Bobbi in brutal, and I mean brutal fashion, May managed to finally turn the tables on this conniving bastard by using his own lovely lady against him. Yes there was something sweetly poetic about watching him plug a few rounds in May...only to discover it was his beloved Agent 33. If anything it's a turning point for Ward. Because honestly, I think there was a short time there where he could have been saved from his dark path. But there's no going back now...it's all evil in his heart and one has to wonder if his hunt for names when it comes to what is left of Hydra doesn't play a part in Baron Zemo coming to power for Captain America: Civil War next year. But outside of villains getting what they deserve, bye Jiaying, bye Gordon, we need to look at the redemption buffet that was on display for the rest of the good guys and bad guys. Mack got his by no longer trying to run from his heroic side and staying and defending the ship, Coulson finally redeemed his actions of keeping everyone in the dark by reclaiming his role as the true leader of S.H.I.E.L.D., uniting everyone at last and he also lost a hand in the process. Not to mention his solid leadership kept Mack on the team and it also redeemed Cal. In fact it was awesome to finally see Mister Hyde in all his glory, but it was even more beautiful to see this tortured soul save the day. My only complaint from last night redemption wise, was that if Cal got that grandiose an ending, why didn't Raina get that too? Granted her death did serve to help leapfrog Daisy's development into a hero...but man, she really did deserve more than having her throat slit. But despite all that resolution, this show would be nothing without setting up some kind of grand finale that leaves us in shock and awe and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. delivered on that too. After all, the Inhuman story line doesn't end with Jiaying's defeat since the crystals she so treasured ended up at the bottom of the sea, and after dissolving, found their way into nearby fish and then onto the shelves of our stores. Will it be enough to kill those who aren't Inhuman? We don't know, Shae and I are of the opinion it's not enough to kill, but definitely enough to unleash those hidden super powers. Time will tell, but perhaps the cruelest twist of the night was the cliffhanger they left us with. After all this time, Fitz and Simmons finally begin to understand their feelings for one another...only to have Simmons swallowed up by the Kree rock in the closing moments. That's one cruel cliffhanger if you ask me, because now we have to wonder just how dangerous the stone truly is and more importantly, is Simmons still alive? Either way, this was truly the finest hour for this show. It was an episode that tugged at the feels, left you cheering and quite frankly the two hour format for this finale felt like its own Marvel movie and I'm still reeling from how awesome this was. The show has finally found its stride in every possible way, it's just a shame we have to wait until the fall to see where we go from here. Time to start counting down the days to season three, and I look forward to geeking out about it with all of you. Until then my friends. Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Knowing your enemy is one thing, but becoming your own enemy is something else. With all of the choices we have to make in life, it is easy to think that doing something that benefits yourself or someone else is good at the time, but looking back, you may find that it was the wrong thing to do. Having to battle this within yourself and not being able to get any help from anyone else can tear yourself apart. No matter what the consequences may be to everyone else around you, you are the only one that can make it right in your own mind, regardless what others think about your current predicament. Wilson Fisk is beside himself as the love of his life Vanessa has been poisoned. Needing her to recover, Fisk refuses to leave her side and lets the business go unattended to. With Wesley by his side, Fisk knows that matters will be taken care of, as they have been friends since the beginning. Wanting to insure that Madame Gao was not involved in the threat against Fisk’s life, Wesley sends Leland out to see her again to gauge her emotions, but Leland is far from a mind reader and is not able to tell if she is really sincere or not in what has happened. Although Wesley is not happy with the response, he gets another phone call, but this one changes his outlook on what needs to be done. Ben is upset with Karen for dragging him back into the story that he was ready to get out of. Even hearing the story from Fisk’s mother about how her boy killed his father, it is still not enough to bring the man down in the public eye. But Karen is adamant on making sure that the entire world knows who Wilson Fisk is and what he has done to their city. But what Karen does not know is that the she has made an impression on Wilson's mother and she wants to know when Karen will return to talk to her again. Matt is on his own once again and after being able to talk with Claire after some additional patch work, he is starting to understand why. Although Claire has a place in her heart for him and will always be in his corner, she will never be his in the realm of love. Now without his best friend Foggy and keeping Karen guessing about what is happening in the shadows, Matt has to clear his mind and find a new weapon he can bring to the table when fighting Fisk again. Knowing that Fisk had some sort of body armor, Matt wants to know what it is and how he can get his hands on it. Asking the hard way, Matt finds the secret shop where the armor is woven into the Fisk’s clothes and ask nicely of the proprietor if something special can be made for him. Although this episode was really focused on Fisk and the love he has for Vanessa and what he will do to those responsible for her current condition, I had more takeaways from Karen’s story. After talking with Fisk’s mother, Karen is putting on the full court press to make sure that the man’s story is made public and all of the lies he has been hiding behind will be revealed. When Karen is called out by Fisk’s mother when talking to Wesley, Karen has a target on her back again. Not believing that the old woman would remember her, Karen has no idea that she will be put in the hot seat in front of Mr. Wesley. Getting offered a job to change the minds of everyone that she has been infecting with the bad aspects of Wilson Fisk, she does not take the offer and then her friends and family are dealt on the table. She doesn't want to see harm come to any of them, but does not have the ability to stop it, until an unexpected phone call comes from Fisk to see where his trusted advisor is at. Wow, this episode really pulls at the heart strings when all is said and done. With Matt and Fisk both trying to justify their actions up to this point, they both know why they are in the current situations they are both in. Same with Karen, but she seems to have the weight of the world on her shoulders as she has found the ultimate lead in the Fisk story, but is also trying to pull Matt and Foggy back together. I don’t know what to say about the ending of this episode without giving it all away, and if you have Netflix, you have probably already watched it, Wesley is gone and I am kind of upset about it, but not as much as Fisk will be when he finds out. Things are really starting to heat up in Hell’s Kitchen as there are just two more episodes to go. I can say one thing about this right now, I am not ready for this season to end. Written by John Edward BetancourtSo here we are once again, May is upon us and the talk of the movie world is Marvel's next gigantic hit in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Once more this studio has hit it out of the park, and at this point it's simply incredible to see them do it again. By now most movie series have started to wear on us or show their age. But not Marvel movies. They are truly magical in their own right and quite frankly, I'm glad to see them continue their runaway success. After all, this is the golden age of comic book motion pictures and I want this to keep on going. But seeing that Marvel once more obliterated the competition did leave me wondering exactly how on earth they manage to get it right and satisfy the fans so often, and as it turns out the answer to my question was far easier to discover than I originally anticipated. The fact of the matter is, Marvel's strength is in its characters, and all of their flaws. You see, Marvel's characters are instantly relatable to us, and that's a huge deal. Because let's be honest, the characters we grew up reading about in comic books appealed to us on a supremely personal level. There was something about them that we instantly attached to because it was an element we saw in ourselves. It led us to follow their every adventure and that's what gives Marvel it's incredible dominance in the film world and it's the blueprint that every single comic book film should follow quite frankly, especially after Age of Ultron because the sequel managed to add a new wrinkle to the mythos that I'd never seen before, the fact that these damn near omnipotent beings can experience fear. In fact, seeing that new element introduced into the MCU actually made me enjoy the movie more, because we've all experienced self doubt, we've all been afraid and sometimes it is extremely hard to overcome those emotions once they've taken hold. Suddenly I was rooting for the Avengers with more enthusiasm than I ever had before. Much like the comic books I picked up as a kid, I was fully committed to the story now and that was a wonderful way to make a sequel that surpassed the size and scope of the first film an enriching experience. It really all boils down to this. Marvel has managed to take a core element of storytelling, relatable and realistic characters, and apply it to perhaps the most outlandish of ideas. People that can fly, that are invincible or immortal are no longer simply figments of our imagination they are grounded, they hurt, they feel and they make stupid mistakes just like the rest of us. In this case a dumb mistake almost caused the end of the world...looking at you Tony Stark. But let's be honest, sometimes our mistakes feel like the end of the world and we feel as though the odds are against us when we try to correct them or repair the damage done. That's why I'm a huge fan of the MCU and everything Marvel does, because the message at the core of it all is the same. That despite our flaws, despite our occasional foolishness, we really can achieve wonderful and heroic things...and there's nothing wrong with having that kind of message in film right now. They can change directors, change characters, do whatever they need to do...but as long as Marvel keeps bringing us these kinds of wonderful and dynamic characters...I'll keep watching. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...What if there is a world where everything is reversed? The heroes we once loved are now the villains of the story, and the villains? Some are heroes and some are...just trying to survive. In the world Isaac created everything is, well, weird. One thing is for certain, those who desired their happy endings the most, certainly got it. Isaac is now a world's best selling author of a book aptly named "Heroes and Villains". Within the book, everything has changed. Regina is no longer the evil queen we all feared. Instead, the enchanted forest is ruled by Snow White and her puppet Prince David. Does this mean StoryBrooke no longer exists? No, it's still there, and Henry has been left behind. Thankfully he has the key, and the door, and the ability to lock the author inside. Before anything happened, however, the Fairies were able to rescue the sorcerer's apprentice from the hat. He told Henry how to lock the author away, and then, like magic, everything was changed. Henry finds our author, living high off of his success. He's changed everything so much, that his dream has finally come true. His happy ending has been achieved, which is something that wasn't supposed to happen. Because of this, the pen is just a pen, and Isaac is technically not the Author anymore. But, Henry has a key, and with it, he's able to open a portal in the original book Isaac wrote, and the two are sucked in. This world is completely different than the real enchanted forest. Henry wasn't born with magic, or in the magical world, so he couldn't have been written into the story. When Isaac leaves Henry to be eaten by ogres, all seems lost, except for a knight in shining armor. Literally, he's saved by a white knight known as Rumplestiltskin. Did that freak anyone else out? I'm just kidding, it had me laughing, because, really? Come on now, this is just ridiculous. Then again. If he could be bad, why can't he be good? The idea isn't so farfetched. Now free, Henry sets off to find his mom, well, one of them. Regina is busy plotting her next heist. Guess she and Snow switched places quite literally. Snow full on wants her dead, and really, the evil Snow is pretty awesome, I'm just saying. She carries around David's heart, forcing him to bend to her every whim. Which, at the moment, might be killing Isaac. He is trying to warn her about Regina, and he does know exactly where Regina will be. So does Henry, he has a copy of Isaacs book, and tries convincing his mom that he's her adopted son. She's not buying it, and storms off without him, and almost gets caught, Robin Hood, however, saves her. They're so cute together! It almost works out. She almost falls for him and almost gives in to Henry's ramblings about Robin being her true love, but Robin is busy marrying Zelena later that day. Talk about a blow to the feels, right? I guess Regina doesn't get a happy ending in Isaac's book. In order to get the help he needs and convince Regina he's telling the truth, Henry heads off to find Hook and find Emma. Hook isn't what they want him to be, but he does help Henry, and they do get Emma free. Along the way to meeting Regina, however, they're stopped by Snow and David. Hook sends Emma to protect Henry while he fights David, and then is stabbed and dies. In front of Emma. That was uncalled for, but whatever. They do get away and Emma talks sense into Regina. Says she needs to go and kiss Robin so that this world can be undone. But things aren't always so simple. Isaac goes to Rumple and says the only way to keep his happy ending is to kill Henry. Which Rumple goes off to do. Just as Regina is about to go in and kiss Robin, Rumple shows up. Emma loses that fight, but Henry is saved by Regina. She gives herself up to save Henry. Isaac is there to gloat, because he's a dick, and Emma punches him, like we have all wanted to do since he appeared. The pen falls from his bag, and Henry sees it. It calls to him. When he picks it up, we learn that our Next Author has been chosen. He can undo all of Isaac's work, he only needs ink. It's the blood of the savior of this world, Regina, that allows this story to never even happen. In the real world, with everything set right, everyone seems fine and happy. Emma finds Hook alive and well, and she even almost admits that she loves him. But she doesn't say it, yet. David arrests Isaac, and all is almost right with the world. Belle runs to Rumple, and it's adorable and she admits she still loves him. Sadly, he's still dying. It's the apprentice that takes the darkness and pulls it into the magical hat of the sorcerer. The hat, rejects it, and the darkness is free, but so is Rumple. The darkness goes after Regina, but it's Emma that sacrifices herself in order to save her friend. She tells Hook she loves him and then pulls the darkness into herself, becoming the new Dark One.....her only hope is for them to find the sorcerer, Merlin. What a season finale! Right? Damn. All the feels and everything that happened! I can't wait for the next season! Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Trying to keep secrets from your friends can prove to be costly at times. They are your friends and trust that you are treating the relationship with the upmost respect. But if you have betrayed that trust and they find out, there can be hell to pay since what they have seen turns out to be a lie. Sometimes it is the right thing to do to keep them in the dark on some things, but if it could be considered something big, you have got to let them in or they will never forgive you, much less trust you again. Ben Urich is between a rock and a hard place. With his wife slowly starting to recover in the hospital, she is still far from being in great shape and is going to be discharged to a different location. With that on his desk, Ben is ready to hang up the investigation regarding Fisk and is ready to turn everything over to Karen so he can focus on what is most important in his life. Although Karen is not ready to take the reins on her own yet, she is able to convince the reporter to go to a retirement home, to just give it the once over. What she does not tell him is that she has located a woman that might keep his drive to bring down Fisk alive for another day. Wilson Fisk is being called out by his remaining partner in crime Madame Gao as well. Even with the plan of eliminating Nobu coming to lite, Fisk is still not himself and is being pulled in two directions and the old woman knows it. Trying to get his mind right for what is coming up next Madame Gao gives her partner an underlying threat to kick start his engines once again, but does not know if that will be enough. Sending his money man, Leland Owlsley to reassure his partner that everything is well in hand, Fisk moves his focus to a fundraising dinner and is ready to start becoming the man in the public eye that he needs to be. But someone has a different outlook on who Fisk is, as guests start to fall from their tables and a panic ensues. Now onto the main story of the episode, a friend’s trust betrayed. After receiving a beating at Nobu’s hands, Matt is laid up in his apartment with nobody better than his good friend Foggy to take care of him. With all that is happening around town, Foggy is shocked and upset that this masked man that is killing cops and gangsters is no one other than his best friend in the world. Foggy tries to figure out what would possess his friend to do such horrendous acts while telling him and Karen to abide by the law at all times. Matt is able to give the answers that he believes are right, but that is not working for his longtime friend since he has been lying about his abilities since the two met years ago in law school. This episode takes you back to Matt and Foggy’s law school days, when Foggy is happy to have this new friend in his life. Getting fired up about becoming a lawyer, Foggy has plans for the two to open their own office and bring their city of Hell’s Kitchen out of the dark and into the light once again. Even when getting a job offer from the firm that they interned at, Foggy listens to Matt’s opinions about what they are doing and it not being right. Without hesitation, Foggy packs up and the two go into business on their own. Since doing the right thing and playing by the rules is what they are all about, Foggy cannot believe what Matt is doing in his free time, putting on a black mask and beating up people that should have their days in court. As the trust has gone out of the relationship, the law offices of Nelsen and Murdock may be closed from this day forward. This has to be my favorite episode thus far in the series and it has nothing more to do than trust. Each character has to deal with it their own way as Gao does not trust Fisk, Ben does not trust himself and now Foggy does not trust Matt. There is only one way to insure their friendships will continue and that is proving that they are willing to do what must be done, if it is right or wrong. I also like Karen’s little bit of deceit in this episode as she has found something in the city that no one else has been able to locate, Fisk’s mother. What will happen in the next episode? I do not know what to expect as there is possibly another player coming in that is trying to kill off the competition. Can’t wait to see what happens on the flip side. What’s a girl to do at 4am when she can’t sleep? Why, look up geeky inspired wedding rings of course! This has rapidly become one of my favorite past times since it include two hobbies of mine: looking up shiny objects and nerding out about weddings. I don’t know why I love weddings. I think it’s because I love, love. Plus, I mean, come on. There seems to be a revolution in the air with us nerds and geeks. We’ve stopped hiding, and why shouldn’t that translate into our love lives as well? I think this is the part where my hopeless romanticism is bleeding into my work. These rings are just a fraction of what I found, but I admittedly fell in love with them right off the bat. Oddly, I was searching for a set of Avengers inspired rings that I had found quite a while ago. While I didn’t find what I was looking for (yet), I did find some rings that took my breath away. All these rings were found on CustomMade.com. This site allows various artists and people to come together to create something as stunning as well, these rings. Thankfully, we’re able to order the rings on this site, as well as make some tweaks of our own. As a hardcore Assassin's Creed fan, I may have squeaked when I saw this ring. It was designed with the game in mind, as the symbols of the Assassins can be seen etched out on the sides of the ring. It’s cast out of palladium; with a center square cut diamond. Birthstones adorn either side of the stunning inlayed center diamond, but can be replaced with any gem as desired. I don’t know any Assassin's Creed fan that would actually say no if someone proposed to them with that ring. Of course, ring size is required to have one made of your very own, and that can sometimes be tricky, which is why, ladies, it’s wise to know your size and make sure your best friend does too. Just, you know, as to not ruin any surprises. Currently this ring can run over $3,500, but it is well worth is, in my opinion, considering the gorgeousness of its design. I have shared some Zelda inspired rings in the past, and well, who can blame me? Zelda was a very popular game when I was growing up. I’ve not played it myself in years, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it, especially with a ring like this. Made in White Gold, the details of this Zelda inspired ring don’t go unnoticed by any fan. The heart in the center is to resemble the heart containers Link carries. The heart is lined with imitation aquamarine gemstones, centering a lab created ruby in the center and accented on the sides. Yes, that is a Triforce snuck into the sides of the band; this is a ring princess Zelda would love herself. The ring can be made out of different materials, as all are custom made. So, if you’re worried about the gems or colored metal of the ring, don’t be! Starting at $600, this ring has the ability to be as custom as you and the artist can make it. After all, it’s not always about spending a fortune to see the smile on her face. Right about now you guys are probably like ‘Shae! Do you even look at prices when you’re looking at these rings!’ And, to answer that, no. No I do not. It’s not always about how much is being spent, or even the type of gemstones within a ring that catches my eye. What I’m looking for is something so uniquely geeky, that anyone can look at it and have a true appreciation. I’m not a jeweler myself, but I know that high priced items don’t always mean quality. These are works of art. Case and point, this stunning Sonic Screwdriver ring. Doctor Who fans everywhere need to stare at this ring. I’ve seen many a TARDIS ring, but never a Sonic Screwdriver. How uniquely amazing is this? The best part? This ring is completely customizable, from the metal to the stones; you get to decide the level of detail that goes into this ring. It looks like a Sonic Screwdriver! I’m in serious awe of this ring. Any Doctor asking his companion to join them on a life journey should give serious consideration into this band. The solitaire in the middle can be any gem, synthetic or genuine, and you can even order it without a center gem and place your own in there. The description was kind enough to state the dimensions of the centerpiece, and warn that if a gem is not selected it will be sent without one. Kind of really awesome. This varies in price, of course, ranging from $195 (silver with no stone) to $840 (platinum with a stone) and doesn’t give prices for which stone. Have to admit, throwing a diamond in the center makes for a gorgeous engagement ring. On the other hand, you could put a blue or green gem or even a birthstone in the middle and have it be just a beautiful ring. And right about now I’m realizing I totally lied to you guys. Not all these rings were found on CustomMade.com. Okay, all those were. Earlier, I was searching through WhenGeeksWed.com, because like I said I am a hopelessly nerdy romantic who searches for awesome engagement rings when she can’t sleep at 4am. I’m starting to understand why I’m single. This ring comes from that site, or well, is featured there. It’s a custom piece by Tayasa Mizuno and is a 14K white gold Spiderman ring. Now, I’m not a give fan of our web-slinger. But, he has his purposes and many people adore him. It’s a gorgeous ring with a square solitaire diamond, inlayed with sapphires and rubies (I love rubies, personally). It’s currently priced at $5,500 and is found on TakayasCustomJewelry.com along with many others, and of course the ability to make your very own design. Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...When you are doing something that could possibly hurt others, do you ever need to take a second and make sure that what you are doing is right? Wanting what is best for everyone can be a double edged sword since everybody is different and has a different opinion on the matter. It can be a fine line and if you are trying to balance on it, you may find that you are falling off of it more often than not. Since everyone has their own priorities, doing the right thing for many still may not benefit as far as you could have imagined. As Wilson Fisk has turned the tables on Ben Urich’s story that Foggy, Karen and the man in the black mask have been trying to get out to the public, they are not willing to quit. Karen is determined to show the world who this Fisk man really is and what he has done that is not helping the community, but tearing it apart. Foggy is still caught up with the man in the black mask, still believing that he is a killer and wants to protect his city from the vigilante. Being given all of the information to take down Fisk in the public eye, Ben still does not have anyone to collaborate the stories that have been laid in front of him. With a special visit from their favorite client, Elena Cardenas, the group gets a little bit more unsettled. When the old woman has been offered twice as much to move out of her apartment by a new owner, Foggy urges her to stay while he and Matt are able to fight it in court. Knowing that Fisk is somehow involved in the offer, Foggy and Karen try digging even deeper into the elusive man’s past. Matt believes that there is an easier way to get information about Fisk and finds himself in the art gallery where his Vanessa works. Indirectly asking about her relationship and take on Fisk, Matt meets his devil face to face and finds out much more about the man than he wanted to know. Wilson Fisk is having a difficult time proving to his colleagues that he is still in charge of the operation. With Nobu still breathing down his neck, Fisk is forced to take action once again and get the apartment where Elena Cardenas lives cleared out for the triad. After the old tenant has been found murdered at her doorstep, Fisk has cameras following him around and asking him what his thoughts are on his newly attained property. Giving the answers that the people want to hear, Karen, Foggy and Matt know that everything that is coming out of his mouth is a lie, with the exception of wanting to improve the conditions in Hell’s Kitchen, just in a different way. Now on to the meat and potatoes of this episode, Matt’s beliefs being conflicted with a human’s morality. Although Matt knows what he is doing is helping the city, the appearance of Fisk has left him to ask more questions of himself and his work. Wanting to get the answers when talking with his longtime priest, Matt is left with more questions than answers and has to find a reason to carry on with his job. Knowing that has been pinpointed by the police, the media and now Fisk, Matt has to choose his battles more wisely, but when he gets news of Mrs. Cardenas’ death, it puts him over the edge once again and he is further driven to get proof about the man responsible. They just keep sucking you in as this episode plays on. After the last one where we learned about Fisk, this week we get to see who he really is. Knowing that he is the most powerful man in the city, Matt has his own problems that have been made worse by making his devil into a man. This adds to the humanity of the story that is playing out as each man wants what they believe is best for Hell’s Kitchen, but since they are not on the same page as to what that is, there will be more blood in the water before anything gets resolved. It is getting more difficult to wait and see what is going to happen next in this series, since every ending leaves you wanting more. |
