Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Life is full of issues, some which are easily taken care of, while others take up much more time to resolve. No matter what the problem is, it needs to be corrected within a certain amount of time, since if you don’t, it only gets to be worse. Prioritizing the issues is something that more people need to figure out, since the harder things to fix and take up the most time to do so are saved for last, but they are usually the most important. No matter the issue, no matter the severity, it warrants your attention and no matter how long it takes to get resolved, it needs to be taken care of before it turns into something much worse. Ben Urich is being laid to rest and nobody is feeling worse about it than Karen. Thinking that it is her fault for pressuring the reporter to further investigate her story, she takes a moment to talk to his widow. Knowing that her husband could not be forced into anything he did not believe in, Doris tells Karen that it is fine and that she should not be burdened with the loss. Talking with the priest, Matt is sitting in his guilt since he did not know about what was going to happen and that he was not there to save Ben from his untimely death. Even though the priest does not agree with the actions that Matt has taken in the past, he knows what the man is capable of and anything to help the city from any further loss of life would be smiled upon. Wilson Fisk is going over his finances when he finds that a large sum of his money is missing. Bringing it up with Leland, the accountant says it is nothing more than moving the missing funds from place to place to avoid the SEC, but Fisk knows that the man is lying. Leland is not afraid of Fisk and what he can do and comes clean about everything that he has been doing, even trying to kill Vanessa. Telling the powerhouse about what he plans to do when leaving the city, Leland also tells him about the ace he is holding, Detective Hoffman. Not caring about the money that has been taken from him, Fisk is more upset about the attempt on his love's life. Taking Leland out of the equation, Fisk now has to find a way to locate the wayward detective before he comes clean to the police about what he has been doing for Fisk for the past year. When visiting the police station, Matt and Foggy are trying to get any information about the fire that took out a heroin ring earlier in the week. But Matt’s ears are focused elsewhere when he hears the name Hoffman mentioned by an exiting officer. Knowing that the detective is still in the city and with the information provided by Marci about Fisk, the group is in a race against time to find the detective before Fisk is able to put a bullet in his head. Finding a building that has been erased from the files, Matt starts his search and when he hears gunfire outside of the abandoned building, he knows he is in the right place. Being able to secure Hoffman before he is killed, the man in the black mask gets him to the police station safely on one condition, his statement. As Detective Hoffman’s statement is made, Fisk’s world comes crumbling down. With Hoffman spilling his guts on who else is on the powerhouse’s payroll, the FBI swoops into action around Hell’s Kitchen and starts arresting everyone last one of Fisk’s assets. Knowing that he is in a race against time as well, Fisk is able to give Vanessa instructions on what to do in his absence, but he knows that it will not be for too long. As his payroll runs deeper than even Hoffman knows, Fisk is able to escape from his armored escort and make his way to freedom with his love. But when hearing about this, Matt knows that the man has to be stopped and must never be allowed to vacate the city. Dawning his new outfit and toys, Matt is ready for battle against Fisk and as round two between the men squares off, there is nothing more than blood oozing down the alley way. The final episode of the season and I am sad to see it go. This was a great way to finish it and I was happy that there was another faceoff between Fisk and the now known Daredevil to fight for what is right in Hell’s Kitchen. It is easy to see that the story has not ended, it is far from over as Vanessa seems to be in charge of what is happening in Fisk’s absence, but who knows how far she will be willing to go to get him freed from prison. Matt, Foggy and Karen have ended on a high note and they should be good to go for quite a while with not a care in the world. With everyone talking again and Foggy ragging on the new nickname for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, it appears that they are happy and will have nothing holding them back from stopping crime in their city, by using the law and Matt’s fists. No more episodes for me, I will have to find something new to watch until Daredevil comes back for its second season.
