Written by ShaeHi! Last time I did a gifts for her blog and this time I'm doing a gifts for him! I feel we have to keep it fair, since sometimes it's not always easy to shop for that special guy in your life. Believe it or not, jewelry is not just for the ladies. Girls, there is a wide assortment of guy friendly jewelry. Imagine his face when he opens a box and there is the replica of Tony Stark's Iron Man bracelet from The Avengers. (Make sure to add in the glowing Arc Reactor shirt!). Even if he's not into Iron Man, the bracelet is pretty awesome and very manly. To go along the lines of staying masculine, there's also a wide variety of watches at Think Geek that speak to every nerd guys fandom. Why have a classic watch, though, when he can have a Fob Watch that would make the Doctor jealous? This next pick suits any fandom and has made me really consider buying one for myself. Programable TV remotes; these little guys come in many new shapes and fandom designs. Harry Potter fan? How about a wand remote? These guys even come in two different Sonic Screwdrivers (Tennant and Smith's) and, my favorite, the Lightsaber remote. It's a gift for him, that you get to use later! "Television turn-onacus!" would be pretty epic to say while waving around the wand. And, everyone in the room will be astounded the first time they see it. I might just have to give in and get one now! Now, my other pick is a bit unorthodox; but remember. Men are creatures of manly nature and they sometimes feel the need to showcase this skill by grilling and cooking meat. Why not a can of Unicorn Meat? Nah, that's not manly enough. Dragon meat, on the other hand, now that is truly a mark of masculine! That's right, dragon meat comes in a can and you can find it on Think Geek. (Now, it's not really edible, but shhhh, we can all pretend.) This novelty surely will get an amused reaction from your special guy. Okay guys, that's it for today, but don't worry! I will be back with more great gift ideas!

Written by ShaeHey everyone! Look! I didn't die! I'm back from surgery and ready to give you guys some Geeky Gift ideas for the wonderful day of love; Valentines Day. Now, some of us hate this holiday, some of us may think it's overrated, and some of us love it. I, have a confession. I happen to be a hopeless romantic, so for me, this holiday is kind of fantastic! So! If you have a special someone in your life, but don't know what to get them, let me give you some recommendations. Hearts are always a great thing to give, and everything around this holiday is indeed, heart shaped! Now, I've said this before and I will stick by it, if you're shopping for a girl, most of the time jewelry is a good thing! Thankfully, there is plenty of jewelry to be found. Think Geek has it's fair share and a wide selection for Geeks and non-Geeks alike. From watches, earrings, necklaces, and anatomically correct hearts--wait, what!? Yep. That's right, how about a locket of a real looking heart. This is not only a unique piece of jewelry, but a great gift for that special girl in your life. Maybe she's a science nerd! Even if she's not, it's pretty cool. Not into the heart idea? How about a two piece necklace set? Think Geek has a Star Wars one in the shape of the rebellion symbol that reads "I love you" on one side and "I know" on the second. Or maybe a pair of sonic screwdriver earrings is on order. But, we all know, nothing truly says "I love you", like the One Ring To Rule Them All. Okay, now maybe you've been dating this girl for a bit, but you haven't really said those three magic words, just yet. You still want to get her something nice to show you like her; why not an 8-Bit flower or rose? Or how about an 8-Bit hair bow? Nothing speaks of feelings of love, however, like an 8-Bit mining pick from, you guessed it, Minecraft. But maybe you want to get her something with diamonds. Don't worry, Think Geek, Amazon, and Target, (sometimes HotTopic) have the Diamond Sword from Minecraft. Just remember, those things can mine diamonds and should be given with care. Now, what girl doesn't love stuffed animals? They're cute, plush, cuddly, and are always a warm caring friend to have. Especially when they're zombiefied! Yep, I stumbled upon a zombie teddy bear on Think Geek earlier today and I was utterly in love with it. How could anyone say no to a zombie bear!? Or, a Zombie plush you can dismember! Zombies aren't for everyone, though, and that's okay. There are plenty of geeky plush out there, like the Soft Kitty from Big Bang Theory, which you can find at Amazon, Think Geek, HotTopic, and sometimes Urban Outfitters. I don't have a special squeeze right now, but I did just buy myself a stuffed Moose today (I named him Sam). In my search I discovered that Build-a-Bear is still around and thriving! Who knew!? The greatest part about this, is you can make your girl her own personal stuffed toy, dress it up, and stuff a heart into it's chest, or a record a secret message and have it play when she squeezes it. This also works for non-geeks too! All right, that's it for today, but don't fret! I'll be back with some more gift ideas and some great gifts for him! Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Sometimes, a show comes on and you're excited to watch it. Sometimes while watching it, they play with your feels. Sometimes, when they're playing with your feels, they throw you something so shocking you don't know how to handle it. Yeah, that sums up Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. because they otally did that this week. Firstly, I love this show. I squeed when it came back on and was glued to every second. Maybe it's the Marvel nerd in me. Or maybe I've just fallen head over heels for the characters. Or maybe Agent Phil Coulson is just so utterly awesome, that I cried in The Avengers during his death scene. (True story! Mattie was there, she can provide first hand account to this.) So, when you take one of my favorite characters and abuse them, I get emotionally violent. Thankfully, so did Phil's Team. This week the Team banded together and worked with Agent Hand and S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives to hunt down and find the kidnapped Agent that is Coulson. First, Skye gets kicked off the Bus; impersonates Agent May, but she kicks butt and finds a money trail that leads them to where Coulson is being kept. Meanwhile, Ward's been pushing himself physically trying to beat up every Centipede goon they come across. Fitz is bossy and angry, Simmons is melancholy. May? Well, she's May. Don't mess with her Team. Hand doesn't seem to be too keen on finding Coulson. However, she's supposedly been on the phone with Fury and Hill as all of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be up in arms trying find Coulson. Since Hand is more concerned about finding Centipede bases, the Team meet up and hunt down their favorite Agent themselves. Phil, on the other hand, is busy being beaten by angry Centipede operatives. Mostly just this one guy from that jail a few episodes back that knows our girl in the flower dress. (He hurt Phil, so his name isn't important to me.) That is, until he get's a call from Clairvoyant…and dies. Leaving Raina (girl in the flower dress) to give her hand at getting Coulson to cooperate. She's not much into violence… She ends up talking Coulson into willingly using this device that will help him remember what happened to him. So what really happened in Tahiti? It is a magical place, after all. Brain washing? Super Soldier Serum? (Whoa, say that three times fast!) Well…let's just say, Phil was better off not knowing. I think we were all better off not knowing. Seriously? I'm not a Nick Fury fan right now. Not after what he ordered to be done to Phil. As it turns out, Phil remembers being on a table. But he's not in Tahiti, he's not getting a massage. He's screaming from pain and begging them to let him die. All while some machine is working on his exposed brain. What in the name of Thor!? After being reduced by Skye, May, (and the others)), Phil's returned to the Bus and acts like he's fine. Later he pays a visit to a certain doctor that was present at his surgery. Remember the guy from the first episode? Who was really Book from Firefly? Yeah. Phil pays him a visit. Turns out he had been dead for more than just a couple seconds…or days. And this surgery he remembers was the 7th. Who know's how many more he went through. All we do know is his memories were altered so he would have a will to live again. I have to say….this entire episode, all I could do was rage. Where were Black Widow and Hawkeye! They're S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents! Okay, so they're also Avengers…but in the comics, the three worked together! Well. All I'll say is Fury better pray the Avengers never learn of what he did to get Phil Coulson back to life. I'm pretty sure Iron Man of all people would be very displeased, to say the least. Just like I am. |
