Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Knowing your enemy is one thing, but becoming your own enemy is something else. With all of the choices we have to make in life, it is easy to think that doing something that benefits yourself or someone else is good at the time, but looking back, you may find that it was the wrong thing to do. Having to battle this within yourself and not being able to get any help from anyone else can tear yourself apart. No matter what the consequences may be to everyone else around you, you are the only one that can make it right in your own mind, regardless what others think about your current predicament. Wilson Fisk is beside himself as the love of his life Vanessa has been poisoned. Needing her to recover, Fisk refuses to leave her side and lets the business go unattended to. With Wesley by his side, Fisk knows that matters will be taken care of, as they have been friends since the beginning. Wanting to insure that Madame Gao was not involved in the threat against Fisk’s life, Wesley sends Leland out to see her again to gauge her emotions, but Leland is far from a mind reader and is not able to tell if she is really sincere or not in what has happened. Although Wesley is not happy with the response, he gets another phone call, but this one changes his outlook on what needs to be done. Ben is upset with Karen for dragging him back into the story that he was ready to get out of. Even hearing the story from Fisk’s mother about how her boy killed his father, it is still not enough to bring the man down in the public eye. But Karen is adamant on making sure that the entire world knows who Wilson Fisk is and what he has done to their city. But what Karen does not know is that the she has made an impression on Wilson's mother and she wants to know when Karen will return to talk to her again. Matt is on his own once again and after being able to talk with Claire after some additional patch work, he is starting to understand why. Although Claire has a place in her heart for him and will always be in his corner, she will never be his in the realm of love. Now without his best friend Foggy and keeping Karen guessing about what is happening in the shadows, Matt has to clear his mind and find a new weapon he can bring to the table when fighting Fisk again. Knowing that Fisk had some sort of body armor, Matt wants to know what it is and how he can get his hands on it. Asking the hard way, Matt finds the secret shop where the armor is woven into the Fisk’s clothes and ask nicely of the proprietor if something special can be made for him. Although this episode was really focused on Fisk and the love he has for Vanessa and what he will do to those responsible for her current condition, I had more takeaways from Karen’s story. After talking with Fisk’s mother, Karen is putting on the full court press to make sure that the man’s story is made public and all of the lies he has been hiding behind will be revealed. When Karen is called out by Fisk’s mother when talking to Wesley, Karen has a target on her back again. Not believing that the old woman would remember her, Karen has no idea that she will be put in the hot seat in front of Mr. Wesley. Getting offered a job to change the minds of everyone that she has been infecting with the bad aspects of Wilson Fisk, she does not take the offer and then her friends and family are dealt on the table. She doesn't want to see harm come to any of them, but does not have the ability to stop it, until an unexpected phone call comes from Fisk to see where his trusted advisor is at. Wow, this episode really pulls at the heart strings when all is said and done. With Matt and Fisk both trying to justify their actions up to this point, they both know why they are in the current situations they are both in. Same with Karen, but she seems to have the weight of the world on her shoulders as she has found the ultimate lead in the Fisk story, but is also trying to pull Matt and Foggy back together. I don’t know what to say about the ending of this episode without giving it all away, and if you have Netflix, you have probably already watched it, Wesley is gone and I am kind of upset about it, but not as much as Fisk will be when he finds out. Things are really starting to heat up in Hell’s Kitchen as there are just two more episodes to go. I can say one thing about this right now, I am not ready for this season to end.
