Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Guys…what even….seriously….that was intense. So, clearly Dean is a little more than peeved at the fact that Charlie is dead. He’s fully blaming Sam, which in fairness, kind of is his fault. However, she did die trying to help Dean, if that’s worth anything, which it isn’t in his eyes. He storms off at her funeral after telling Sam off and goes on a quest…a magical quest to murder the entire Stein family. I’m not sure I blame Dean, but his blood lust is getting a little stronger. There really wasn’t a need for being so harsh to Sam. Despite everything, Sam is still trying to help Dean. He’ll never forgive himself for Charlie’s death, and this all is spiraling out of control way too fast. By the time Sam gets back to where he has Rowena, Cas is just a bit concerned. Finding out that Charlie is dead doesn’t help matters, and Sam is actually about to pull the plug on all of this…until he decides to pull out his phone and find out where Dean has gone. It’s then he gets the e-mail from Charlie, the translations have arrived and it’s back to saving Dean. There’s just one catch. Rowena won’t do anything until Sam kills Crowley. At first, I though Moose wouldn’t do such a thing…and then, as Moose shoots Crowley with a Devil’s Trap bullet, and gives him a hex bag, I was sad. I mean, I know Crowley has been evil, and done things…but haven’t they all? He doesn’t deserve to die, especially like this. For that fleeting moment I almost thought they’d do it too…but they didn’t. Crowley digs the bullet out and burns the bag. Seems our King of Hell has snapped out of it and isn’t about to let mommy dearest get away with this. Sam on the other hand, he thinks of killing. At the last second, he spares our Moose…just to send a powerful message. While he’s in the mood of sparing people, Dean isn’t. He gets pulled over and arrested because the dirty cops are working for the Stein’s. But he escapes. Finding their home isn’t that hard, and soon he’s storming in with guns blazing. It’s a wonder he gets as far as he does before he’s knocked out and taken prisoner. The Stein he’s looking for is off raiding their bunker, while Daddy Stein has some words with Dean. He’s willing to cut into Dean and well, that’s not going to happen. When Dean breaks free, he slaughters everyone in the room…and then everyone upstairs. He stumbles back into the bunker as the raid is happening. Kills Roscoe (I don’t know why I can remember his name, but nobody else’s), and then the other guy. The guy that killed his Charlie. All that’s left is a kid. Daddy Stein’s youngest. The kid isn’t like the rest of them. He wanted to move away from his family and be free. Dean doesn’t care. He kills him with only a bit of hesitation. Cas chooses that moment to walk in. He’s more than displeased, and it’s clear the Mark is taking back over. The fight that happens breaks my heart. Dean in his right mind wouldn’t beat Castiel into a pulp, and he certainly wouldn’t threaten to stab him. Thankfully, he doesn’t. But he gives a final warning. Cas and Sam need to leave him alone. Just like that, we’re back to the beginning…Dean is out of control and Sam and Cas are left trying to figure out a way to save him.

Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...When Dean gets wind of a case he tries engaging Sam, but Sam, seems distracted, with good reason. He’s called Charlie in to help Rowena decipher the Codex. But, Sam can’t be there 24/7 to watch the two of them, so he asks Cas to stay and watch girls; surely this won’t end badly. Charlie is fine helping out, but she’s struggling with lying to Dean about it. Since, you know, they’re lying to Dean about it! Keeping things from each other is so not right, according to her and Castiel. Sam and Dean have done this since the beginning of, I don't know, ever, and it’s never worked in their favor. This is no exception. If there's one thing about these two, it's their huge amount of disfunction. Regardless, Dean drags Sam along to in vestige the murder of a college girl. Her throat was slit and her eyes taken. While viewing security footage, Sam and Dean notice a tattoo on the guy who killed that poor girl. Turns out he’s a member of the Stein family. With some research they find out that the Stein’s just magically appeared one day, which families with that kind of power don’t do. They’re able to capture the Guy, since he, and a lackey, try to jump Dean after he picked up pizza. With the baddie chained up, Dean gets to the bottom of some things. He finds out that the book is protected by magic and can’t be destroyed, which doesn’t quite add up because he saw Sam burn the book….right? And the family? Frankenstein was their original name before Mary Shelley wrote a book about them exposing their family and forcing them to go into hiding. I guess when you're a family of monsters, stealing body parts from other people to enhance yourself, you should keep that quiet. They call it a harvest, and they normally don't leave anything behind, this guy, got sloppy. The family in question has caused a lot of damage without the book. Including things like 9/11 and the most recent of wars. It's something that doesn’t sit well with the older Winchester. Sam on the other hand, is still too distracted. He leaves when Castiel calls him again, leaving Dean time to get all the information he needs. Like, the book not being destructible. Being a baddie, and a Frankenstein, our captive rips his own arm off, literally, and breaks free of the Bunker. Castiel was calling Sam to tell him he needed a way to separate Charlie and Rowena. Charlie is demanding quiet since Rowena is a bit of an annoyance…which is actually fair. While Sam has no time or way to help Castiel right now, so Cas just drags Rowena off into another room to give Charlie the space she demanded. Charlie, however, takes this as an opportunity to leave and go find her own quiet. She checks into a motel to continue deciphering the codex. She’s not got the knowledge that Rowena does, but she does have a computer and an ability to look for patterns and figure things out, viewing the codex as a type of computer code than anything else. She’s also unaware that the entire Stein family is after her, since they're thinking she has the book. And now so does Dean. After a panicked call from Cas about Charlie missing, Dean has figured a few things out. Sam lied, Charlie is involved, and now Charlie is being hunted. Our Baddie shows up at her door, demanding entry. Charlie runs and hides in the bathroom and calls the boys; who tell her to hand over what she’s working on only, she can’t do that. This is Dean's only chance and she has actually translated the codex! Right as her room has been broken into, her computer finishes uploading the translation, presumably to Sam. She takes the chance and smashes her computer, right as the bad guy waltzes in. By the time Sam and Dean find her…it’s not pretty. In fact, it was awful. I mean...it's just not right seeing Charlie go. With Charlie’s death looming over them, Dean aware of Sam’s lies…and the codex translated, something good has to come out of this, right? The murder of a family member is never easy, and Dean is on the hunt for blood and vengeance. Justice will be had. Written by ScottyThere are many people in professions that have to face fear on a daily basis. Police officers, firemen, soldiers along with so many more. These people have to put their lives on the line to protect us from the world and have to find a way to battle their fears to make sure they can save us if needed. There is no shame in being afraid of anything, and if anyone tells you otherwise, they are lying to themselves. This is one of the things that makes us human, but it is what we do with the things that we are afraid of that can make us stand out from the rest. Lieutenant Kalthrob has been promoted through the ranks, but has not been able to conquer one of the biggest feats in his life, his fear. Martin Kalthrob is afraid of dying and while that is something normal for everyone, he is in a position to put his men's lives in danger to accomplish what has been commanded of him, but he still cannot pull the trigger. Calling for a retreat, his Sergeant tries to fight him all the way as the commands have come down from the General, but the Lieutenant is on the field of battle and will not risk the lives of his men to take a meaningless hill. While formulating his next move, General Kalthrob is trusting that his son is following through with the orders that he has been given, but when Sergeant Ripper enters his tent, the General’s eyes are opened to what his son is, yellow. Even though Martin is his father’s son, he does not have the drive of the General and cannot even bring himself to fire his weapon at the enemy. The General is disappointed at this and thinks that his son is making him look weak in his position of power. When it is necessary to get another garrison to take the hill that his son could not, the General finds out that the lines of communication are down and assigns his son to head closer to the enemy line to fix the line. With promise of being transferred to the rear of the fighting, Martin takes a small group of men to go and fix the line, but still the Lieutenant is too afraid to step out of the fox hole and follow through with his orders. As the Sergeant takes command of the situation, he advises his superior officer to hold back and signal the men if he sees any of the enemy. The Lieutenant agrees, but when he sees the enemy stalking his men, he freezes up and does not let a warning signal out. Running back to base, Martin tells the General about what has happened, saying that he killed the enemy, but lost all of his men in the process, but an unexpected survivor enters the tent as well, and Sergeant Ripper tells the General how it really went down. Finding his son guilty in his court martial, the General has a plan to make his son look like more of a man in the military’s eyes than he has ever looked before. Promising a new life for Martin, the General will load blanks into each of the rifles before the execution takes place, just as long as his son promises to face the firing squad like a man. With a smile on his face, Lieutenant Martin Kalthrob has a smile on his face and is awaiting his fate, but will his father do as he has promised, or has he done something to save himself of the embarrassment his son has caused? Just a boy trying to gain the acceptance of his father is all who Martin is. He was never made out to be in the military, but did not have a choice and has to be punished for his sins, along with those of his father. With a bad ass Sergeant running his mouth towards his direct report, Martin is not able to defend any of his decisions on the battle field, even when the Sergeant should be dead, he still had to throw the Lieutenant under the bus one last time. I did not bring in the voice of reason throughout the entire episode, Captain Milligan who tries to back the General on all of his decisions, along with trying to make sure that he knows what he is doing when sentencing his own son to death. A very valuable character looking back at the story, just not the keys to the father and son dynamic that took place, along with Martin’s main foe, Ripper, or his conscience. This one has a star studded cast featuring Eric Douglas as Lieutenant Martin Kalthrob, Kirk Douglas as General Kalthrob, Lance Henriksen as Sergeant Ripper and Dan Aykroyd as Captain Milligan. This is not a scary or strange story that you have come to love from the Tales from the Crypt staff, it is a life story that shows the challenges of family and how far you would go to save your own dynasty. Until next time kiddies, Stay Scared. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Okay, just…okay. Everyone take a moment, sit down, try not to cry. I’m actually crying. Are you guys crying? Okay, I’m not actually crying, but I am really sad about what happened last night. How could we not be sad! Oh my God. So, it starts out fine, right? You guys thought so too? This chick comes in for some eye study thing, and then the next thing we know, she’s having her throat slit and her eyes carved out of her skull while she’s still choking on her own blood. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...With each passing episode, the end draws near, and I'm really not ready for it. But still, we must carry on and last week we got to see a different dynamic amongst our Team Free Will. Claire is back, and she's been hunting down information about her lost mother. Seems she has a few choice words for the woman that abandoned her after Castiel took Jimmy away from them. Which, what's with that by the way? Claire has been following leads that eventually send her into a dive bar in the middle of nowhere, searching for what might be the last man who saw her mother. He, however, isn't willing to give her any information on her mother's whereabouts. Instead, he gives away he knows what her last name is, and when Claire confronts him, he knocks her down and she passes out. A call from the hospital sends our boys running. She is family, after all, in a weird way, and Cas feels very responsible for her. She's less than pleased to see them, but that doesn't stop them from helping. Dean and Castiel head off back to the bar to find the guy that Claire talked to, turns out Claire escaped from the hospital, and Sam goes to her motel room to await for her arrival. It's not long before she and Sam aren't hating one another. He even teaches her how to hack into her mother"s credit card records. By then, Dean and Cas arrive with some information on the man who took Claire's mother. Granted he may have beaten it out of the guy, but he wasn't going to talk otherwise. Cas isn't willing to take any chances given the mark on Dean's arm. He orders Dean and Claire to stay behind while he and Sam investigate a farm were it looks like Claire's mom is being kept. Dean is less than thrilled, so he and Claire head off to play some mini golf. Earlier in the episode, the guy who got Claire into the hospital, may have been stabbed violently and died. The wound looked like an angel blade, but nobody could figure out what it really was, since there was a nasty red mark around the wound that isn't consistent with an angel blade. While playing mini golf, Claire helps Dean explain the red mark. This discovery leads them to doing some research. Turns out, Angels can have things like, swords that have hilts, not just blades. The type of angel? They're called Grigori, and were the first Angels to be on earth. Some lore says they're watcher Angels. Other lore says they feed off humans. This Grigori isn't nice...at all. And he's now in a farm house with Sam and Castiel. Cas finds Claire's mother; who was having her soul fed on by the Grigori for two years. Sam runs into our Grigori, but narrowly escapes. Thankfully, he lives...because Moose is awesome. Claire and Dean make it to house just in time to fight he Grigori. Claire gets a tearful reunion with her mother, and then gets her ripped out of her life as she's stabbed by the rogue angel. It's Claire who saves Cas from the Grigori, the two have finally made peace with one another. In the end, Claire keeps the Grigori's sword, and she is off to live with Jody. With Claire taken care of, her and everyone on good terms, and Cas willing to stay in her life, they all have one less thing to worry about...how to find a way to remove the mark. Written by ScottySometimes we lose out on reality when watching our favorite shows. I will admit, I have had a hard time coming back from a couple of episodes in the past, but I have always made it back. But some people believe so much in their shows, that they think it is the way life should be. Most of the time this is harmless, but sometimes it can become an obsession that cannot be broken. Walking in your favorites stars shoes might seem like a good idea, but in the real world there are consequences that you would never see on the television. Janet is living the American dream, she is a stay at home wife who is married to a doctor. But this is not enough for Janet as she has been getting caught up in her favorite soap opera and wants some sort of excitement in her life. Wanting to get it from her husband, she is disappointed that he seems to want to work on his experiments more than he wants to be with her. With the promise that he will be with her when his work is done, Janet starts to look for other ways to fulfill her needs. When watching her stories however, the television goes out and she misses one of the vital happenings and cannot live without knowing what has happened. Feeling stronger than she ever has, she calls to get cable installed in the house, since she has been told by her husband to continue watching the television. But when the cable man comes to make his installation, Janet falls for him and with a name of Abel, she will not let him go. Thinking that she is living out what her favorite character would be doing, Janet takes the plunge and lets the cable man know he is the only one that can keep her plugged in. Thinking very little about the consequences that could occur with her affair and not caring since her husband is more in love with his work than her, she starts making calls to get her time slots filled by Abel. But when her husband comes home early one day to tell Janet that he will be at home at all times, working on his project, she is destroyed, but comes up with the ultimate plan to keep the affair going, just closer to her husband’s lab. Knowing that her husband Leon will not come out of his laboratory without turning off the light first, Janet and Abel are performing encore presentations on the couch just outside of the lab, but when Leon finally finishes his research, he is so happy and does not kill the safety light before running upstairs. Finding his wife with the cable man on his couch and listening to all of the things they want from each other, Leon comes up with a plan of his own on how to get even. Just a sad story for Leon when all he wants to do is finish his research and make the world a much better place. But neglecting his duties of being a married man and pushing his wife away while working is a little bit too harsh in my opinion. Forcing her to get her slots filled by a different channel, Abel is ready, willing and…you know the rest. Starring Faye Grant as Janet, Alan Rachins as Leon and Anthony LaPaglia as Abel, the Cable Guy, this story is full of the deepest desires of a daily soap opera, along with all of the innuendo that you could ever want to hear. Until next time, Stay Scared. Written by ScottyThere are so many things that can make someone go astray and several people are not able to find their way back to their old selves after venturing off. But for the lucky few that can find their way again, they attribute it to someone or something new coming into their lives. Even with the people that have hit rock bottom, they still have hope that there will be something to lead them away from their vices and give them a fresh outlook on life. Many people battle with this on a daily basis and even though it seems to be difficult, it is a fight that no one should ever give up on. Charles McKenzie is a down on his luck reporter that has found that the only way he can survive is to find the bottom of the bottle every evening. Not wanting to change his life, with the exception of getting a job, he is happy doing what he is doing, but there is something coming for him that will change his outlook on life. An attractive woman ventures into his local watering hole and although he may not feel the best about himself, he still wants to get to know who she is. Young Vicki is out on the hunt this evening, looking to find herself a new man to keep her from getting bored. Charles is the lucky man and after waking up together, he finds out that Vicki is not looking for a long term relationship, just something fun. She likes the excitement of meeting new people are trying new things and even though Charles can go along with the flow, there is something about this woman that has his juices flowing. Wanting to get back into the beat writing game, Charles goes back to his old paper and begs to get his job back with the promise of quitting drinking, although his old boss does not believe him, Charles is given his job back with the guarantee that he will find an extremely raunchy murder story to cover. Happy that he has his job back, Charles is not completely changed as he has to stop by his sister’s home to borrow rent money. But going back to the bar, he tells everybody about his plan to stop drinking and the cash advance he got from the paper. Vicki does not believe what has happened to her new friend, but even with the recent change in his life, she still does not want to commit to anything, but Charles does not truly understand. Trying to get a juicy story, Charles calls up all of his old contacts, but nobody is able to give him a lead on any type of story. Wanting a drink, he goes back to his favorite bar but the bartender refuses to serve him. Sitting in an out of the way greasy spoon dinner, Charles listens to the owner Nikos complain about how bad life is. Trying to ignore the conversation, Charles hears something happening in the back and when Nikos comes out, he cries that he has just killed his wife. Charles jumps into action, since this is what he has been waiting for, but when he sees who the owner’s young wife is, something takes over in his mind and he makes sure that the story will be a juicy as possible. A loving story with a violent ending, but is that not always the way? I feel for poor Charles as he is trying to pick himself up and out of the gutter and his friends trying to help him in any way that they can and he keeps shooting himself in the foot. There is always a way to get back up after you fall, but at what costs are you willing to go to reach for that brass ring? In Charles' case, he is willing to get back to the man he once was at any cost, no matter how much it hurts him, or the ones that he loves. Starring Richard Jordan as Charles McKenzie, Marg Helgenberger as Vicki and Jon Polito as Nikos, this story puts you in the shoes of a man that is trying to get his life back and when everything starts to fall into place, it falls apart even harder. Until next time kiddies, Stay Scared. Written by ScottyJealousy is something that many people have to learn to get over as they get into relationships. Knowing that your significant other had a life before meeting you is a hard thing to get used to, but you need to accept it or else you will never get over what has been done. Even when the relationship goes to the next level, it is difficult to watch as people cannot get over having anyone else looking at their spouse, much less talk to them. I know that there is the fear that your loved one will leave you for someone else, but you have to have some trust in the relationship that they chose you for a reason and that is why they are with you for the long haul. Liz Kelly is stuck in a little do nothing town with no chance of escape. Taking a waitress job to make enough money to leave, she has found that the tips that can be pocketed do not exist and she has taken to having relations with some of her patrons. When a member of her one night stand group comes calling to take her out and will not leave her alone after she refuses, a stranger has come to her rescue. Not expecting to have anyone stand up for her in the bar, especially with her current track record, she is magnetized to the man and allows him to buy her a drink. Promising Liz a cozy life, Steve Dixon has been able to sweep Liz off of her feet and on the very same night the two meet, they got married. Returning to Steve’s home in the mountains, Liz sees that her new husband is a rich man as he owns his own lumber business. Knowing that he will do anything to keep her safe, Liz is growing accustomed to the married life with her mountain man, but she finds out quickly that this is not what she expected. As the men in Steve’s crew start joking around about their boss getting married to one of the loosest waitresses around, Steve hears the jokes and beats the living hell out of one of his men to show his dominance and love towards his wife. Giving the order that no one look at her, much less talk to her, Steve is happy with the results as the men go about their daily duties without incident. But a new lumberjack is looking for work and when Mrs. Dixon sees him, she knows that her newly boring life is over. Ted is a hard worker and a fast chopper that will be the new ringer in the lumberjack competitions coming up, but when Steve sees his wife’s eyes wander to the new man, he knows that there will be trouble once again. Calling Ted to do whatever she asks, Liz wants the young man more than he can imagine, and the scary thing is, he wants her as well. Trying to leave the camp before Steve finds out, Ted is surprised to see Liz in the doorway, wearing nothing more than her underwear. With Liz initiating the act of love, Steve walks in and finds the two bending trees and his rage boils over and he beats the young man, causing him to lose his sight. Being blind, Ted is taken in by the other lumberjacks and they teach him a new trade with using the chainsaws, but they have a surprise for him when it comes to competition cutting one that he will never see the end result of. I am upset that I have to be on Steve’s side throughout this episode, as his jealousy filled rage is justified when it comes to his wife. But it is not the men that are making things worse, it is her and that is just a shame that he did not get to find out who the woman he married really was until late. Even when beating his men up to make his point, I wanted to think he was being too strict, but in the end, he was right, but not focusing his aggression on the right person. Starring Brion James as Steve Dixon, Michelle Johnson as Liz Kelly and Billy Wirth as Ted, this is a great showing of how paranoia can be true, even if it costs you a ring or two. Until next time, Stay Scared. |
