Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Okay, just…okay. Everyone take a moment, sit down, try not to cry. I’m actually crying. Are you guys crying? Okay, I’m not actually crying, but I am really sad about what happened last night. How could we not be sad! Oh my God. So, it starts out fine, right? You guys thought so too? This chick comes in for some eye study thing, and then the next thing we know, she’s having her throat slit and her eyes carved out of her skull while she’s still choking on her own blood. Which, by the way, is a horrible way to go. Seriously. The guy jumps out a three story window and lives! But it’s cool…because, reasons. So. Dean gets wind of this case and is like “Sammy let’s check it out”! Sam, seems distracted, with good reason. He’s called Charlie to help Rowena decipher the Codex. But, Sam can’t be there 24/7 to watch the two of them, so he asks Cas to stay and watch the girls; surely this won’t end badly. Charlie is fine helping out, but she’s struggling with lying to Dean about it. Since, you know, they’re lying to Dean about it! Keeping things from each other is so not right. Sam and Dean have done this since the beginning and it’s never worked well in their favor. This is no exception. When it comes to the case, however, Sam and Dean notice a tattoo on the guy who killed that poor girl. Turns out he’s a member of the Stein family. With some research they find out that the Stein’s just magically appeared one day, which families with that kind of power don’t do. They’re able to capture the Guy, since he tried to jump Dean after he picked up pizza. Can we talk about that for a moment too? Where are these magical 24 hour pizza joints!? They don’t exist! I swear! Unless, I just live in the wrong area of the world. Either way, totally jealous. With the baddie chained up, Dean gets to the bottom of some things. He finds out that the book is protected by magic and can’t be destroyed, which doesn’t quite add up because he saw Sam burn the book….right? And the family? Frankenstein was their original name before Mary Shelly wrote a book about them exposing their family and forcing them to go into hiding. They’ve caused a lot of damage without the book in quite a long time, but with the book they could do so much more. It’s something that doesn’t sit well. And when Sam is off getting a call from Cas, Dean gets all this information and goes to confront his little brother. Baddie being a baddie, rips his own arm off to get free of the cuff and flees. What was Cas calling for? Just to ask what he should do with Charlie and Rowena. Charlie is demanding quiet since Rowena is a bit of an annoyance…which is actually fair. While Sam offers no answers, Cas drags Rowena off into another room to give Charlie the quiet she needs. Charlie, however, takes this as an opportunity to leave and go find her own quiet. She checks into a motel to continue deciphering the codex. She doesn't have the knowledge that Rowena does, but she does have a computer and an ability to look for patterns and figure things out. She’s also unaware that the baddie from before is after her. Actually, everyone is. But the baddie thinks she has the book, and now so does Dean. Said Baddie shows up and Charlie runs and hides in the bathroom and calls the boys; they tell her to hand over what she’s working on only she can’t do that. Right as her room has been broken into, her computer finishes the work it was doing, and yes, she has successfully translated what she was working on. Within minutes she’s uploading and sending it, presumably to Sam…and then she breaks her computer, just as the Baddie comes storming in. By the time Sam and Dean find her…it’s not pretty. This show has hurt me more than any show I have ever watched. It’s with such a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye to a beloved character…with Charlie’s death looming over them, Dean aware of Sam’s lies…but at least the codex is translated, something good has to come out of this, right?
