Last week our beloved show took a break and gave us a wonderful special on Marvel. Everything we know and love has an amazing origin story. The week before, however, left us with more unanswered questions and a new fear. So far, the show has done anything it can to make us all feel as though the world isn't safe anymore. At least the Marvel world isn't. We learned that HYDRA Agent Ward has a brother with a lot of political power. On top of everything it seems that HYDRA has some powerful friends in more powerful places. A nation's offer to keep S.H.I.E.L.D. agents safe is a death trap that costs 6 agents their lives and nearly some of our team. Hunter, Bobbi, and May end up taking down the HYDRA scum that have killed some of their members and friends. Back to Ward we find out that it's his brother's word against his. Ward claims his brother is evil and lying to Coulson to make himself look better. Coulson sees that the senator is in it for the re-election points. But there might be some validity to his story. Grant is actually scared about being handed over to his brother. Coulson doesn't care. It's taking everything for the new director to not end Ward's life himself. Before the exchange can happen, Ward escapes, unbeknownst to the team. With so much going on, there is one silver lining. The U.S. Government has finally decided to stop its war against S.H.I.E.L.D. and focus on the real threat, HYDRA. With that it seems General Talbot is finally on their side. It's the little things? Right? Tonight we get to see what happens when the team finds out Ward is free and we will see just what the ex-agent does.

Random trivia to start of the recap of what we missed last week on Gotham! This show is seriously one of my new favorite addictions. With all kinds of fun, wonderful, stories and a deeper look into the city itself. It's a glimpse into what everyone and everything was before The Batman. Last week was no exception. We got a chance to see the fallout of Jim Gordon letting Oswald Cobblepot live. Bullock was rather irritated when he realized what Gordon had done. And it's safe to say that none of that went over too terribly well. Shortly after being arrested, the department is greeted with Cobblepot himself. Not dead, Gordon and Bullock are released. Gordon goes to call Barbara to get her to leave while he grabs his stuff, only to have Harvey deck him. Jim makes a plea for his partner to join his side and help him with a plan to save them, or get them killed. But Bullock is having none of it. Now on his own, Gordon heads to the Chief's office and tells her he's going to arrest the Mayor and Falcone. It's then that the GCPD is invaded by one of Falcone's best men; Victor Zsasz. He and his two compatriots order everyone out of the precinct, all but Gordon. In a valiant effort to not get caught by the mob thug, Jim makes a run for it. Zsasz shoots him twice and it's only the timely rescue of Montoya and Allen that save his life. Jim wakes with his wounds sown but weak from blood loss. Still, he refuses to let Falcone run this town anymore, he makes his way home to Barbara. She seems to have some company, and with two shots, the monsters are taken care of. Barbara is sent away, and Jim finds himself at Wayne Manor. Explaining his plan to a young Bruce is out of the question. He only assures the kid that if he dies, Montoya and Allen will solve the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne. Finally ready to take on Falcone and the Mayor alone, Gordon is more than shocked when Bullock comes to his apartment, offering to help. First things first, arrest the Mayor. With that taken care of they make it to Falcone's office. It's only when Gordon has a gun to Falcone does the mob boss reveal he has Barbara in his custody with Zsasz. They surrender, despite Bullock thinking it a bluff. Once Barbara is reunited with them, Falcone makes a decision. He lets them go. Alive. Not too long after, Falcone goes to check on his chickens, only to be met by the Penguin. It just so happens the Oswald made a deal with Falcone. If the don allowed Gordon to be tasked with killing Cobblepot, and he lived, he would come back to Gotham and work for Maroni; spill the rival's secrets. In exchange for that, Oswald told Falcone what Mooney was planning. So Falcone allowed Gordon to "kill" Cobblepot and the rest of Penguins' story is history. With all this, just what is in store for us this week? We find out tonight, and I couldn't be more excited. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Last night, Once Upon a Time aired the episode we've all been waiting for, the one where we get a glimpse into the Snow Queens past. After all, evil isn't born, it's made and every baddie has had their side of the story told. It seems Regina isn't the only evil queen with a sad origin. The tale begins with three sisters, Ingrid. Helga, and Gerda. The princesses of Arendelle are playing when they come across a man who wants to kidnap them for ransom. Ingrid discovers her ice powers in a horrifying moment to protect her sisters. At first, they're all accepting. Helga and Gerda promise they'll love and help Ingrid always. The sisterly bond is born and it seem everything will be alright. But as fairytale go, happy never lasts for long. It's at a party that Ingrid discovers her powers are beyond her control. She plans to leave, but is stopped by her two sisters. Gerda speaks up about a man that might be able to help Ingrid control her powers. As always, magic comes with a price. Rumple offers up gloves that could help Ingrid control her powers, and an urn....one that would contain her if her powers were too out of control. Finally, Ingrid is able to be out of her room. The Duke, a man Helga is in love with, comes to visit with Ingrid and hit on her....a slip of her powers has him trying to turn Helga against her, but the love Helga has for Ingrid is stronger than he words. He threatens to tell all of Arendelle about Ingrid and the monster she is. The future queen goes to stop him with her powers, but strikes Helga as she goes to protect the man. Hitting her heart, Helga is frozen and turned to solid ice in seconds. She shatters in Ingrid's arms. Gerda stumbles upon the scene and takes the urn, locking Ingrid away....she then goes to the rock trolls and asks grand Pabbie to make a potion strong enough to wipe the memories of everyone in the kingdom. Nobody in Arendelle will remember Ingrid or Gerda. Pabbie warns that magic comes with a price...could this be why Gerda's daughter, Elsa, has ice powers? In the present, Elsa and Emma have managed to capture the Snow Queen. Emma detains her and tries talking to her but things are only getting worse. The Snow Queen riles Emma up so bad she blasts a hole in the side of the building. The Snow Queen escapes and Emma is unable to control her powers. In her haste she knocks a lamp over and it slams into David. For the first time, Emma sees her family stare at her with fear....she flees... On a brighter note Robin has finally decided where his heart lies. After confronting Regina previously, he tells her he won't live by his code if it means giving her up. He loves her, and refuses to let her go. Regardless of the consequences. Hopefully with that happy ending brewing, nobody will notice that the Snow Queen is making a deal with Rumple once more. In exchange for her ribbons back she gives him information about the hat. The magical hat that can free him from the dagger...but are his intentions pure? Probably not. With so many things going on its hard to wait a whole week for the next episode. Hopefully, things start sorting themselves out soon! Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...In the past season and a half Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has gone from an adorable Marvel show to an integral part of the beloved movie franchise that have captured our devotion. The show starts off after The Avengers and has since been a product of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on a larger scale that I never imagined. More than just an hour filler show ever week, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a very important part of nerd history. It's rare for movies and shows to coincide with one another, let alone be directly affected by the other. This is not only ground breaking, this is world shattering. From the very beginning, this show brought its A-game with guest stars from the Marvel movies we love so much, and continued to deliver cameos throughout the series. S.H.I.E.L.D. also helps with the long wait between movies. If you're a Marvel Junkie like me, you've probably felt that sense of withdrawal after a movie is no longer in theaters. Sadly, I'm feeling that this week as S.H.I.E.L.D. is taking a break. In its place we get a special on Marvel and their universe. In the meantime, Let's talk about this shows development shall we? In the first season we were introduced to the organization we have all come to love. We also got the joy of finding out that Coulson was brought back to life. This is a character that we have all fallen in love with (or at least like), from his first appearance in Iron Man, to his heartbreaking end in The Avengers, Phil Coulson is one character that held a special place in all our hearts. Getting his own show was just an added bonus! By whatever means, Coulson was back, and he was putting together his own special team. On it was agent Malinda May, the brilliant engineer Fitz, Simmons the adorable scientist, and Agent Ward...the evil sociopath that broke all our hearts (though we didn't know that yet). The team wasn't complete, however, and along the way we picked up computer hacker genius Skye. It seemed all was well, everyone got along, and the world was fine. Or was it? Thor: The Dark World was our first glimpse of the intertwining of the two shows even more than we thought. Special guests made their appearances, solidifying the cameos we so craved. It also gave us more to look forward to. What happened on the big screen was affecting the world created on our little screen and it was magical. Slowly, our team was learning to trust one another. After all, our team had discovered their friend has been turned into a weapon, Deathlok. But things weren't done there. We almost lost Skye to the bullet of a bad guy. Thankfully the same stuff used to bring Coulson back saved her life. We also found out how Coulson was brought back from the dead; the blood of an alien being. That dark secret nearly pushed our favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent over the edge. He finally got answers from Director Fury himself. Our Coulson was considered an Avenger, and Fury wasn't about to let his best man die. With that, Coulson moved on to other things. Let it be said that there are never happy times for long when it comes to Marvel. With the biggest plot twist, ever (I still get sad!) Captain America: The Winter Soldier brought forth a revelation that not only shook the MCU, but changed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. forever. HYDRA was alive and well; thriving in S.H.I.E.L.D. And if things couldn't get any worse, it turns out agent Ward was one of the them. After killing several agents and injuring Fitz (he did save Simmons though!), Ward was finally taken down by May. The betrayal is still felt. Season two handles the fall out and the rebuilding of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Coulson as the new Director. They may be small, fractured, and barely going, but the agency holds strong with the ideals that originally brought it to life. Skye has stepped up beyond the role of Hacker; trained by agent May, she is worthy of her badge. Fitz is desperately trying to be normal. Simmons, having a stint as an undercover agent in HYDRA, is now home with the team. Our little team has some new faces. Hunter, a mercenary who was married to the infamous Mockingbird, who has also recently joined the team. Triplett is back for the fun. Mack has taken Simmons place as Fitz new right hand man. The team seems to be functioning just fine. The threat of HYDRA is ever present, and a new threat is joining the game. Skye's long lost father has finally shown his face. The man is anything but fatherly, with a murdering temper. And now, agent Ward is loose....with such threats, it's daunting to think of how our team will survive, or if all of them will.... The show has evolved and changed to the movies happening around them. Coinciding while giving us more of the universe we love so dearly. Thankfully, the show returns soon and I can get my fix. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...With each passing episode we learn more and more about the Snow Queen, her intentions, and of course, the past. What has her so upset that she’s plotting evilly? There seems to just be one major theme, family. That embodied the entire movie that Frozen was. Here in Once Upon a Time, we see that theme not only being carried over, but expanded upon. In the town, Belle and Elsa hit the Library in hopes of finding information about Anna’s whereabouts. Sadly, they don’t find anything, and Belle is acting very weird. Finally, she leaves Elsa to find things on her own while she goes to do something herself. In the past, it turns out Belle knew Anna. She’d traveled to Arendelle in search for the rock trolls. Belle had lost the final memory of her mother, before the woman died, and is in desperate need to get it back. Along the way, she meets Anna and the bubbly princess takes Belle to the Rock Trolls together. Grand Pabbie gives Belle a magical stone that can give her back her lost memories. Anna gets a chance to talk to the ancient troll after Belle gets what she needs. It seems the princess is worried about their new aunt just showing up. She’s worried that Elsa is in danger and that their aunt, The Snow Queen, has an alternative agenda. It just so happens that the Snow Queen has been listening in on the conversation and attacks the two women as they descend the mountain. Anna is hanging on the edge of a cliff; Belle’s magical stone that would restore her memories has been thrown to the edge. Before Belle can grab it, the stone falls and shatters. Belle tries to save Anna but it too late. The Snow Queen appears and takes Anna away…Belle fully believes she’s the reason Anna had fallen and was blaming herself and that forces her to make the choice to contact Rumplestiltskin , make a deal with him, and save her own kingdom. Anna awakes in a cell to see the Snow Queen standing there, angry that Anna tried to betray her, and twists the situation. She leaves Anna there, convinced she can’t be apart of the happy family she so desperately wants. In present day, Belle is desperate to find the Snow Queen and make her bring back Anna. She uses the dagger Rumple had given her and commands him to take her to the Snow Queen. Rumple does, despite the dagger being fake, and Belle goes into the lair to see if she can find the hat Anna had. The very hat Rumple has. The Sorcerer's Hat. While there, Belle finds the magical mirror that the Snow Queen had made. The mirror calls to her. Standing there is her own reflection, telling Belle all the insecurities she’s been feeling. The mirror goes further, tells her the dagger is fake, that Rumple doesn’t love her…said Dark One appears and takes Belle back to the shop, snapping Belle out of whatever spell the mirror held on her. Belle confesses to Rumple that she feels guilty over Anna’s disappearance. She apologizes for using the dagger on him, and it seems that they might actually be okay. Meanwhile, Emma is really not okay with the fact that the Snow Queen was her foster mother for some time. More so, that she has no memory of this ever happening. But the Snow Queen has a lot of Emma’s old school work as well as an ancient scroll. It seems that she knew Emma would be the Savior, and that she has been trying to make Emma and Elsa into replacements for her lost sisters… The mirror? It’s part of a spell that would turn everyone in town against each other…All except Elsa and Emma…the perfect family the Snow Queen has always wanted. |
