Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap Part II: "A Fractured House"

Last week on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. everyone died.

Just kidding! Last week our beloved show took a break and gave us a wonderful special on Marvel. Everything we know and love has an amazing origin story. The week before, however, left us with more unanswered questions and a new fear. So far, the show has done anything it can to make us all feel as though the world isn't safe anymore. At least the Marvel world isn't. We learned that HYDRA Agent Ward has a brother with a lot of political power. 

On top of everything it seems that HYDRA has some powerful friends in more powerful places. A nation's offer to keep S.H.I.E.L.D. agents safe is a death trap that costs 6 agents their lives and nearly some of our team. Hunter, Bobbi, and May end up taking down the HYDRA scum that have killed some of their members and friends.

Back to Ward we find out that it's his brother's word against his. Ward claims his brother is evil and lying to Coulson to make himself look better. Coulson sees that the senator is in it for the re-election points. But there might be some validity to his story. Grant is actually scared about being handed over to his brother. Coulson doesn't care. It's taking everything for the new director to not end Ward's life himself.  Before the exchange can happen, Ward escapes, unbeknownst to the team.

With so much going on, there is one silver lining. The U.S. Government has finally decided to stop its war against S.H.I.E.L.D. and focus on the real threat, HYDRA. With that it seems General Talbot is finally on their side. It's the little things? Right? Tonight we get to see what happens when the team finds out Ward is free and we will see just what the ex-agent does.
