Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Last night I learned that Gotham was slang for New York City from my dad. Random trivia to start of the recap of what we missed last week on Gotham! This show is seriously one of my new favorite addictions. With all kinds of fun, wonderful, stories and a deeper look into the city itself. It's a glimpse into what everyone and everything was before The Batman. Last week was no exception. We got a chance to see the fallout of Jim Gordon letting Oswald Cobblepot live. Bullock was rather irritated when he realized what Gordon had done. And it's safe to say that none of that went over too terribly well. Shortly after being arrested, the department is greeted with Cobblepot himself. Not dead, Gordon and Bullock are released. Gordon goes to call Barbara to get her to leave while he grabs his stuff, only to have Harvey deck him. Jim makes a plea for his partner to join his side and help him with a plan to save them, or get them killed. But Bullock is having none of it. Now on his own, Gordon heads to the Chief's office and tells her he's going to arrest the Mayor and Falcone. It's then that the GCPD is invaded by one of Falcone's best men; Victor Zsasz. He and his two compatriots order everyone out of the precinct, all but Gordon. In a valiant effort to not get caught by the mob thug, Jim makes a run for it. Zsasz shoots him twice and it's only the timely rescue of Montoya and Allen that save his life. Jim wakes with his wounds sown but weak from blood loss. Still, he refuses to let Falcone run this town anymore, he makes his way home to Barbara. She seems to have some company, and with two shots, the monsters are taken care of. Barbara is sent away, and Jim finds himself at Wayne Manor. Explaining his plan to a young Bruce is out of the question. He only assures the kid that if he dies, Montoya and Allen will solve the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne. Finally ready to take on Falcone and the Mayor alone, Gordon is more than shocked when Bullock comes to his apartment, offering to help. First things first, arrest the Mayor. With that taken care of they make it to Falcone's office. It's only when Gordon has a gun to Falcone does the mob boss reveal he has Barbara in his custody with Zsasz. They surrender, despite Bullock thinking it a bluff. Once Barbara is reunited with them, Falcone makes a decision. He lets them go. Alive. Not too long after, Falcone goes to check on his chickens, only to be met by the Penguin. It just so happens the Oswald made a deal with Falcone. If the don allowed Gordon to be tasked with killing Cobblepot, and he lived, he would come back to Gotham and work for Maroni; spill the rival's secrets. In exchange for that, Oswald told Falcone what Mooney was planning. So Falcone allowed Gordon to "kill" Cobblepot and the rest of Penguins' story is history. With all this, just what is in store for us this week? We find out tonight, and I couldn't be more excited.
