Written by Scott EdwardsIt can be frightening how much two complete strangers have in common, especially when it comes to relationships. As everyone knows, relationships are difficult to maintain if you are doing it right and so many people allow the spark to fizzle out. There is always something new that can be done to get that fire back, but most people seem to think that it is too difficult to accomplish. As old relationships end and new ones begin, it is easy to say that past love stays in the past, but when it all comes down to it, you never forget and always want a second chance. Andy Conway is having a grand time at dinner talking to his wife Emma, but she has something else on her mind. While Andy starts to talk about a work function, Emma breaks the news to him that she wants a divorce. Taken back, Andy finds out that she has been having an affair and is now in love with someone else. Trying to leave and go back to Chicago, Andy cannot let her go. In a fit of rage, Andy attacks his wife and winds up stabbing her with a pair of scissors, but that is only the beginning of his problems. Getting a phone call at the station, Officer Fine checks out what commotion happened at the Conway residence. Knowing of them, but not knowing them, he is welcomed into the apartment by Adam and checks around. Not seeing any evidence of foul play and only a suspicious class ring on the floor, Fine tells Andy to have his wife call in when she reaches her destination. Before leaving, Fine also informs Andy that there is another group coming in to check out the apartment. Knowing that they will find his dead wife, Andy goes into panic mode and cuts her body into small pieces to fit into his trunk. With a new plan in place, Andy is ready to make sure that his wife makes it to Chicago after all. At the train station, Andy is able to get the bag checked, but Officer Fine is at the station as well. Boarding the same train, Fine stays chatty with his new travel buddy and throws out all sorts of scenarios about how to kill one’s wife. Andy is not comfortable with the line of questioning, but is not able to escape it. While eating dinner with Fine, Andy finds out that there will be a big drug bust at the next station, but when Fine tells him that all of the bags will be searched as well, he is forced to step away. Getting into the baggage car, Andy switches the baggage tags with another trunk and throws his wife’s body off of the train. Little does he know that there is someone else on the same train that is trying to get out of a fractured relationship. Two completely different men in the same situation, but only one knows what is really going on. I really liked how the two men opened up to each other, especially when Andy was starting to get comfortable with Fine’s company. Fine knows what the end game will be and with the law on his side, Andy never stood a chance for killing his wife, no matter how good his plan was. Starring David Paymer as Andy Conway, Vincent Spano as Officer Fine and Traci Lords as Emma Conway, this is a great little ensemble for such an easy story and it reminds us that the best laid plans can be a cut above the rest. Until next time kiddies, Stay Scared.
