"Tales from the Crypt" Retro Recap: "Werewolf Concerto"

Finding a trade that  you are good at and can profit from is more difficult that it looks.  You get to see so many people that appear to be happy at their jobs and good at them as well, but is it all an act?  You need to find a way to get by these days, since there is always someone looking to take your place, no matter how much you dislike what you are doing.  Put on a smile and do the best that you can to make sure you are secure, because if you are not, there is someone looking to feed off of your lack of success. 

In a small retreat there is something going on in the woods that no one can explain, except maybe Mr. Antoine who is running the hotel.  There is a werewolf on the loose in the jungle, but there is nothing for his valued guests to worry about, as he has been able to wrangle up someone that can put the beast out of its misery.  Although he will not be known to the rest of the guests at the resort, Mr. Lokai is the man for the job and is checking on each of his accompanying guests to figure out who the werewolf might be. 

Being propositioned by the actress, Janice Baird, Mr. Lokai might have bitten off more than he can handle, but the woman is never around when he is ready.  Talking to each guest individually, Mr. Lokai is no closer to finding out who the beast could be, but he is still watching to see if anyone could possibly be slipping up. Seeing Mr. Hertz running into the jungle with a bag, Mr. Lokai believes he has found who he is looking for.  Catching up with the old man and finding out that he has taken credit for killing another one of the hotels guests, Mr. Lokai is able to secure his gun and shoot the old man in the head.

Thinking that his job is done, Mr. Lokai returns to the resort in high spirits, but when he gets a message that was meant for Mr. Rechek about Mr. Hertz being a Nazi, he knows that he has made a grave mistake.  With only one more person in the hotel who could possibly be the beast of the night, Mr. Lokai starts to stalk around Janice’s room, but has no luck in finding her.  As the night kicks in, Mr. Lokai has a secret of his own that he has been holding out on, for he is a werewolf as well.  Killing a maid while searching the hotel, he finds that Janice Baird is in her room and she is something much different than he expected as she is also a beast, but not one that requires a full moon.

Just a little werewolf story that does not disappoint.  With everyone in the resort freaking about something that only comes out during a full moon, they seem to lose sight of what is important on their vacation.  With the time away from their normal lives, they have been exposed to something they will remember for a lifetime.  Trying to put the positive spin on for the resort since it seems to cater to only the special guests, and even those that come out to play when the sun goes down.  Starring Timothy Dalton as Mr. Lokai, Dennis Farina as Antoine, Walter Gotell as Mr. Hertz and Beverly D’Angelo as Janice Baird.  This is a star studded cast and if you are a fan of James Bond movies you get a little reunion with Dalton and Gotell going at it once again, but this time over a creature, not a stolen piece of Russian equipment.  Until next time, Stay Scared.
