Written by ScottyGetting what you want is not always as cracked up as it seems. If you are not able to get what you are looking for and turn to someone else to make your dreams come true, is it really you that should be rewarded? Fighting for something that will make your life feel complete is part of everyday life for everyone and most of the time if you don’t get what you want, there is a good reason for it. With the sense of entitlement that so many people believe they are due, it is amazing to think that anyone still thinks they need to earn the opportunity. Edward Foster is a young writer living in Los Angeles trying to get his first screen play off the ground. Trying to make a loving, wholesome movie, he finds that he is missing his muse. Running into a stunning woman while doing his laundry, Edward has found the woman of his dreams, the only problem is that he is not rich and successful enough to catch her eye. Finding out who she is from his landlord, Edward takes his shot at trying to win over the beauties heart, but is gunned down right from the get go. Looking for some sort of way to make an impression with the woman, Edward turns to his landlord that is keeping an eye on all of the apartments. Being invited in, Edward meets the recluse Mr. Stronham and the man has an offer that Edward cannot refuse. A drug that will make the hot young actress Miranda Singer fall deeply in love with him. Being offered this for no charge, Edward jumps at the opportunity and meets Miranda for a drink and gives her the potion, but has no idea what will really happen. Falling deeply in love with Edward, Miranda will do anything to keep him around and will never let him out of her sight. Quitting her acting career and refusing to leave the apartment, Miranda has given her all to her new found love, but it is too much for Edward to accept. Being tired out by all of the love making and not having a moment to be alone, Edward turns back to his landlord for more advice. Seeing all of the pictures of beautiful women on his wall, Edward finds out he is not the only man that has accepted this offer. There is no way to counteract the potion that Edward has given his dream woman, but there is a way out of the situation, but will Edward be strong enough to go through with it? A classic boy wants girl scenario that could not have been played out any better. The season three premiere of Tales from the Crypt does not disappoint with this episode at all. Staring Andrew McCarthy as Edward and Mariel Hemingway as Miranda, the casting department could not have done a better job finding the faces that could embrace the emotions that needed to be shown. I have always been a firm believer to be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it. Some things that might seem too good to be true, usually are and if you have not witnessed this in your life yet, you soon will. Until next time kiddies, Stay Scared.
