Written by ShaeWhile we have a break from the show, I thought I’d take a moment just to recap what has happened in this epic season that is number 10. Especially since so much time has gone by. It seems so long ago, we were reeling from the ending of 9, and wondering just what was going to happen next for our boys. Season 10 started off with the bang we were all waiting for, during that long gap between then and now. Well, seems our excitement was not in vain. Dean was a demon and he was living it up without Sammy. Binge drinking, random hookups with hot chicks, karaoke, and at his side? None other than the King of Hell himself, Crowley. Yep, in Dean’s bender he decided to have a friend that fed into his wants and desires to just screw off and live it up. Crowley seemed like the ideal choice. Or only choice? Was this friendship even real? To Crowley, yes. Our lonely little King finally had a friend, and while the Winchesters have never really been the best to our Crowley, it seemed that Demon Dean was the perfect friend. Nothing lasts forever and in no time Crowley was finding out the true nature of Dean Winchester. What our beloved little demon ruler failed to see was that there is no controlling a Winchester…ever. So, that was short lived and in no time Crowley was on Dean’s ‘hit’ list. Crowley, however, doesn’t like being told no…he quickly turned Dean into Sam. The Younger brother had been searching high and low for Dean. Even torturing demons along the way, and possibly letting humans get killed. Finding Dean was one thing, trying to cure him was another. Castiel came to help, at least. Our angel of the lord wasn’t doing so well with his remaining stolen grace burning him from the inside out. Still, Cas came through, partly thanks to Crowley who killed another angel to give Castiel more grace. And Cas couldn’t have shown up sooner. Dean was loose, angry, and about to brutally murder our Sammy. With Cas’s help, Sam managed to cure Dean and he also gave the First Blade to Crowley. Were things back to normal? Our boys tried to pretend they were, going on hunts, saving people, doing what they do best. Castiel went off to help Hannah. It was then the two discovered their strange feelings for one another. Sadly, love isn’t in the cards for our little angel as Hannah soon realized she’d become too human, and went back to Heaven. So Cas resumed helping Sam and dean find a cure for the Mark. Cas thought bringing Metatron down would help, butttttt...it really didn’t. We got a single hint from the scribe. And that was it…. Along the way we met Jimmy’s forgotten daughter Clare, and it wasn’t long before Cas was getting into trouble trying to make things up to her for taking her father’s body…and also getting him killed. At least we know Cas is Cas, and there isn’t poor Jimmy still in there. Clare finally accepts his apology after she nearly tries to get Dean killed, and that seems resolved. Jody Mills returned and successfully stayed alive. She even made a friend! And, at long last, our Charlie came home. We just, had to wait for her to be put into one piece. We even met Crowley’s mother, who is a powerful witch! She’s currently manipulating our little demon into whatever she wants. Crowley was onto her plans, but now, it seems he may be falling for them. Before the break, we got to see Dean finally kill Cain, and it seems that he’s not handling things so well. The Mark is wearing on him in ways Sam doesn’t know about. While Dean gave back the First Blade, he gave it to Castiel instead of Crowley. Making tensions even higher. What’s going to happen next? With only so many episodes left, we’re counting down to finding a possible answer about the Mark and if it can be removed…after all, Metatron did say, Dean would have to go back to the source. Possibly a meeting with Lucifer? We’ll have to wait and see. Until then…there’s always re-runs. And let’s be honest, the ‘Musical’.
