'Stan Against Evil' Recap: 'Curse of the Werepony'

‘Kenny, the toothpaste is out of the tube, okay? And the reason the toothpaste if out of the tube is because the toothpaste had sex with our neighbor.’

After not being able to contact her ex-husband, Evie is shown that he is up to his old tricks to gain his daughter’s love once again. Getting young Grace a pony to claim the ‘Greatest Dad Ever’ title, Evie finds out that the young horse will be her responsibility to take care of. Getting home and building a post to keep Daffodil in the yard, Denise rushes over to see the new steed. Not wanting the pony to fell small, she has a plan to make sure that Daffodil knows how much he is loved in the community by building a pony town.

Going out to get a beer, Stan and Kenny hit it off and the two men get to talking about future plans and how Kenny wants to get back with Evie. Not thinking that this is a good idea, but wanting a new friend, Stan invites Kenny to stay at the house while his daughter has taken to sleeping on the tire swing. While Kenny is looking for love once again, he tries to convince his former wife to take him back, but the tension is starting to not only get to the Sheriff, but to her pony as well. Getting back to the house and showing Stan who he really is, Kenny is kicked out of the house for the night, but that might not be a bad thing as he is good at making new friends, just maybe not the ones he really needs.

Trying to find Daffodil before going to bed, Evie is approached by a cowboy looking stranger that needs some help. Not being able to stay and find out his story after getting a call about a murder, Evie quickly finds out that there is an aggressive animal on the loose that she needs to find. Asking questions around town, she is approached by the stranger once again and is starting to get upset with him trying to hit on her during the investigation. Seeing that she will not be able to rid herself of the stranger, much less her ex, Evie needs a break from all men, but that is not in the cards for her.

As Kenny does not want to give up his quest to get the Barret band back together, he witnesses the stranger putting the moves on Evie and is forced to leave the house in a huff. Watching as her ex and the stranger load up in his Camaro, she has no idea who or what the man really is. Getting word from Leon that the animal attack had traces of pony saliva in the wound and not being able to get ahold of Kenny, she turns to Stan to try and figure out where her ex ended up for the night. But arriving at Stan’s house and seeing that Kenny is missing, she fears for the worst and is forced to face the thing of nightmares as the Werepony is ready to claim his next victim.

This has to be my favorite episode of Stan Against Evil since it truly embraces everything that I love about the show. With just the right amount of relationships, killer pony and bro time with cargo shorts, it just hit the spot in all the right ways. With Stan making a new friend and then tossing him to the curb, it is obvious that he needs another good friend in his life. Evie is not torn when it comes to her feelings about her past life and being married to Kenny at all and will not allow the toothpaste to be put back in the tube. Denise is ecstatic that there is a pony in Willard’s Mill and will do everything possible to make sure he is happy and safe in his new surroundings and Deputy Leon appears to be envious of massive sideburns. While this is kind of taking a side step when it comes to what the previous episodes have brought forth, this is still a just a great episode that graces us with great cameos by David Koechner and Steven Ogg, love it! Stay Scared.
