Written by Scott Edwards A wish is worth a thousand words, or something like that. But when it comes to an evil Djinn that wants nothing more than your soul, it may be worth even more than that. It would be difficult to imagine getting everything that you ever wanted in the blink of an eye, but with the power of the Djinn, he can make your dreams come true, just make sure to phrase your wish correctly. Being trapped once again in the statue of Ahura Mazda, he is looking to get out and this time, to fulfill the prophecy. During their attempted robbery at the art gallery, Morgana and Eric have hit a little snag as the alarm is set off. Needing to get out of the building before being discovered, the two are caught in a shootout with the security team. Seeing something shiny blasted out of an old statue, Morgana picks it up and makes her way to the door but being shot in the chest was not what she expected. With the stone she picked up absorbing the blast, Morgana is alright, but Eric takes the next shot in the chest and knows that he will not be able to make it out of the art gallery alive. While waiting for death or the police, Eric gets a visit from the Djinn that has been awakened and has already set his plan in motion on how to release his kind upon the world. Taking the form of Nathaniel Demerest, the Djinn waits for the police to come in and arrest him. Knowing that he will be fine in prison, Nathaniel pleads guilty to the robbery, along with the murder of the guards inside of the gallery. Arriving in the penitentiary, Nathaniel makes it known to everyone around him that he will be able to grant them a wish as he is the Wishmaster and the cost of making their dreams come true is only their soul. Although everybody does not want their wishes granted, there are plenty that do, but when the boss of the prison yard thinks that Nathaniel is impeding on his business, he tries to take care of matters, but not knowing how powerful the Djinn really is, he is in store for a life changing event. Seeing that Nathaniel Demerest has taken the wrap for the botched robbery, Morgana is beside herself and cannot seem to get him out of her mind. Seeing visions of sinister actions, she has only one place that she can go to be comforted, the church. With her old friend Greg becoming a priest, Morgana knows that she can confide in him and he may be the only one to help her break free of her guilt. When trying to pinpoint the reason as to why she is having these strange visions, Morgana is able to find out some information about Ahura Mazda and that he was in charge of keeping evil spirits at bay. Even though she cannot understand why she is being targeted by this evil, she finds out that Nathaniel is a Djinn and the only reason he is here is to release his kind on the planet after she gives him her final wish. Knowing that it is her fault that the Djinn has been released, Morgana is ready to face him head on, but only knowing what she has read about the Djinn, she does not know what tricks he has up his sleeve. As far as sequels go, this is not the worst one I have ever seen, but not the best either. I did like seeing the Djinn come back and pick up right where he left off in the first movie and this time he will not be fooled. I liked how the storyline played out with the prison being the primary source of collecting souls and when that did not work, he had to move on to a new, less sophisticated brand of people. Morgana’s growth in the movie was great and watching her transform from a robber that doesn’t give a crap to a holy roller was really fun. Sometimes you never get to see it in a movie, but characters actually accepting responsibility for their actions is great and there should be more of it. Well, the Djinn may be back in his old home once again, but it appears that he will be coming back once more to try and take over the world in another movie, so keep your wishes to a minimum as you never know what they will cost you. Stay Scared.
