Written by Scott Edwards Do you ever sit back and wonder what would happen if you knew something bad was going to happen and worry as to whether or not you would be able to do something about it? I know that I am not vocal enough, much less strong enough to play the hero and save every life that I can. But I would like to think that if I had a solution in hand, my friends would see things my way and follow me to safety. It is a strange scenario to put yourself in, especially since there is so much happening in every minute of every day. They Look Like People is a film that takes all of that a step further as you go down the rabbit’s hole and find out that there is a war coming. Wyatt has just arrived back in town and is spotted by his old friend Christian. As the two have not seen each other in some time, Christian invites Wyatt to stay with him until he needs to leave again. Although he is hesitant, Wyatt takes the opportunity to get a roof over his head and looks forward to reliving some of the best times of his life with his old friend. As both friends are newly out of their relationships, Wyatt does not come clean about what happened to his fiancé and what caused the split. Not taking any pills and having stopped drinking, Wyatt is as clear as he has ever been, but his phone won't stop ringing in the middle of the night. While Wyatt listens to the voice on the other end of the phone, he knows that a war is coming and he must prepare for it. Hearing that Christian is not infected, Wyatt knows that the creatures have infected most of the city and the two must leave before it is too late. Stocking up on weapons, Wyatt is ready and will do anything to keep his friend safe. While Christian knows that something is up with his best friend, he is hesitant to ask questions until he knows that the time is right. Going on with life as normal, Christian starts to go out with Mara from work and while the relationship is growing, Wyatt notices that there is something strange about her. Showing her his stockpile, Mara is able to escape and breaks things off with Christian before Wyatt is able to harm her. While being upset with his friend, Christian stays by Wyatt’s side but needs to know what is happening inside his friend's head. Not a bad movie to say the least as long as you follow the story. I really enjoyed watching Wyatt and Christian rekindle their friendship and play all of the games they did as kids. Watching as Wyatt starts to fall off of the wagon was difficult to watch as his mind goes further and further away from reality. But the relationship between the friends is unlike any I have seen in a movie in a long time. Christian and Wyatt will do anything to keep each other safe and almost at any cost, you don’t see a bromance like that in this day and age. While you don’t get to see everything that Wyatt does and what has made him one of the special people, you do get a glimpse and that is more than enough. This movie delivered very well and has left plenty of questions open to the imagination. Stay Scared.
