Written by Scott Edwards There are some people that believe in the paranormal and others that do not. There may be no right answer to this discussion since everyone has their own point of view. There are some skeptics that only need to witness proof to get them onboard, but many others will never accept that there is something beyond our realm. I am open for most things and if someone is able to prove their point to me, I am willing to see things from their side, but if they have a weak argument, that calls me stupid for not believing, it will never happen, no matter what. After the release of The Ouija Experiment, the actors have taken to the road to promote the movie, along with making a little bit of extra money on the side. While their movie has become a cult hit, Eric Window, Justin Armstrong and Swisyzinna are living it up and meeting their fans face to face. Now in a small town the group has agreed to help run a haunted house event for the historic Ritz Theater. Even though everyone is not completely on board with the idea, they are willing to join in and humor their fans for one long night. With Danny Grey running the event, he is overly excited to scare all of the people in his town and now with the cast from a horror movie on hand, it cannot fail. And the haunted house is not the only treat on this night, since he is offering an overnight stay in the theater with the cast from The Ouija Experiment for a special guest and two friends, and nothing could be better than that. Since Michelle has won the special package, she needs someone else than just her friend Drew to come along for the scares and invites Margo who has deemed herself as the town's outcast. But nothing could possibly go wrong in the theater since it will be locked down and the haunting in the building is just a story to scare the townsfolk, right? Justin and Eric believe that until they are stopped by the Sheriff on their way to the theater. Hearing about a crazed monster that will kill people and feed off of them until it is full, the two actors think it is just hogwash, but it sticks in the back of Justin’s mind. What nobody in the theater knows is that while trying to impress a girl by using a Ouija board, Eric left the session without saying ‘Goodbye’, leaving a portal open, which is exactly what happened in their movie. As Justin walks around the building with his video recording glasses, he sees the ghost that will be haunting them for the evening, but before he is able to relay this information on, he is flung off of the balcony to his death. Thinking that the actors are just messing around and not showing up, Danny goes on with his haunted tour of the old theater, but now with a spirit released, it will truly show how dangerous a haunted house can be. This movie is the first sequel to a found footage movie that I have seen and reviewed. I am not going to stay that is a bad thing, but it is different, and I can see it not being well received. The story was fun and being to several horror conventions and seeing how the actors are loved by the fans, it sat nicely with me. The haunted house idea was decent, but when the Ouija board was taken out and played with, well, I have a hard time believing that any of the actors would be okay with reliving their movie experience. I was not a fan of the special effects as it was just a puff of smoke that frightened people, I would have rather gone with the jump scares that made the first movie more special. Outside of that, I enjoyed jumping back down the Ouija rabbit hole and still will try to avoid a Ouija board at all costs. Not saying that they are real or fake, but I will be happy to learn from someone else’s mistakes when it comes to that. Stay Scared.
