Written by Scott EdwardsIt seems silly, but there are people in your life that you seem to trust no matter what. No matter how many times they leave you high and dry or just flat out lie to you, you will continue to listen to them and believe what they are saying. I don’t know how this gets programmed into our minds over the years, and I would think that we would try to remove these people from our lives, yet we cannot. Even though it may seem impossible to let these people go for one reason or another, just make sure to protect yourself from them the best you can, because in the end, that is all we can do. After being thrown to the wolves in Washington by Wesker, Alice is back on the road once again. Searching another abandoned shack and disposing of some zombies that are in the wrong place at the wrong time, Alice hears the air raid siren go off, then mysteriously stop. Not knowing what could have caused this, she is greeted once again by the Red Queen who has some very bad news for the former Umbrella employee as time for the last survivors is drawing short. With kill squads being sent to every refuge by Umbrella to finish the job that the T-virus has not, there is an air born anti-virus which can stop it for good. Not knowing if she can believe the Red Queen, Alice has forty-eight hours to save the world, even if it will wind up killing her. Needing to make her way back to where it all began, Alice needs to return to her old home of Raccoon City to retrieve the anti-virus. But that is not all that is on her mind as Wesker will be there waiting for yet another reunion between the two foes. Hitting a spike strip on the road that leaves her car out of commission, the zombie killer spots a motor cycle that might get her to the final destination sooner than later, but there is a catch as she spots the Umbrella logo on the side. Fighting off another hit squad, Alice has free reign to the bike, but is left unconscious when its security measures kick in. Waking up and seeing the face of Dr. Isaacs, Alice has been captured once again and the good doctor has another use for her. With his convoy up and running towards Raccoon City as well, the Umbrella employees are herding up a massive army of zombies to unleash on any settlements along the way. With the clock not in her favor, Alice is able to escape his evil clutches once again and returns home as fast as possible. Getting distracted and wrecking her bike, she wakes up once again to find her old friend Claire is hiding out with another group of survivors. Catching up very quickly as an army the likes of which has never been seen before is approaching, Alice helps the survivors set up a trap for anyone that wants to mess with them. As the clock keeps ticking and the horde approaches, hell on earth is unleashed, but will it be enough to allow Alice to enter the Hive that released the apocalypse ten years earlier? Well, according to the title, this is the final chapter of the Resident Evil series and while it is far from the best story, you once again get to see more action than you can shake a stick at. I will admit that this was more of a video game movie than the others when it came to the fights and effects, which is not a bad thing at all. Bringing back Isaacs and Wesker to reveal the secret that Umbrella has been hiding all of this time was great and you should never be surprised to see anyone that you believed dead in this series make a comeback, because we saw all the clones of Alice from a couple of movies ago. I liked how Alice was willing to put her life on the line for a small amount of survivors across the globe, since she has been doing this the entire series, but with the promise of killing the T-virus, things do get a little more real for her mortality. With action, guns, gasoline, zombies, headshots, the Cerberus program, missing limbs and did I mention action? This is a decent installment for what we believe to be the final movie of the series, but you can always believe that if the people want it, there might be another. Stay Scared.
