Written by Scott Edwards If and when the polar ice caps melt, it will be amazing to see what has been hidden in them for so many millennia. As since, while scientists keep an eye on what it will do to our environment, they are also able to find secrets that have been trapped in the ice. Their discoveries may be great, but what it will bring us as a species may not be as beneficial as it seems. Towing an iceberg down to the warming region of Egypt, two crew members are astonished to see it break apart before making their delivery. Not knowing what could possibly be frozen in the ice, they find that a Megalodon shark has been lying dormant in their tow. As the shark comes back to life, it begins to wreak havoc off the coast as it is hungry from all of its years being stuck in the ice. Scientists Jack Turner and wife Rosie are testing out a new technology to battle the ancient beast and have almost completed their test trials. They are called in on the hunt for the Megalodon and the military has created a more suitable hunting machine than they have ever used before. Knowing that the operating system is the key behind making the updated tech work properly, Jack fights to get it installed in this new mechanical shark. Without full testing being completed on the military’s model of the metal shark, Rosie has to work all of her magic with the new systems to track down and kill the Megalodon. With glitches happening all around and the massive shark fighting back, Nero, the operating system, is forced to work on his own without help from his creators as they are not as durable as he is. With unknown firewalls being put into the system, Nero has to fight the military’s control, along with the Megalodon. Just another one of the many entertaining movies that the SyFy network has blessed us with over the years. With a mega shark running havoc across the land and sea, and the friendly skies, it is next to impossible to keep everyone safe from the impending threat. Dealing more with the politics of the situation put in front of them, rather than the true impact that the shark could cause makes this almost feel like a real-life situation that would never get resolved. With a mechanical shark that is also being used to save the seas from the massive threat, I really enjoyed when it has to deal with the same problems that all of us have to on a daily basis, because all computers have issues. Stay Scared!
