Written by Scott Edwards In the end, there is nothing more important to most people than family. Always being there to take care of you, your family could be the only people that you can ever trust. It would be difficult to make it through your days without them by your side, to help you, to teach you and most importantly, to keep you inspired. But on the opposite side of this, you can have a crazy family that only wants to suck you dry and plays heavily on your emotions. The crazy families are the most difficult to get along with, but you must remember that they are still part of your life and even though you may not want to see or talk to them on a daily basis, they will be waiting for you in your time of need. Brielle Lake has tried her hardest to keep herself at arm’s length from her family, especially her father, but when she gets a phone call in the middle of the night informing her that her grandfather has died, she is a little confused. Thinking that both of her grandparents were already dead, she finds out that they were not and now she and her sisters have inherited the old hotel that their grandparents ran. Going to visit her sister Samantha, Brielle sees that she is still not in the best of shape and wants to sell the hotel sight unseen. But knowing that it could be something special, Brielle and her boyfriend Ben arrange a camping trip up to the property to see if it has any appeal or if they should let it go for the money, and Samantha surprisingly agrees to come along. Arriving at the Lake Hotel, Brielle, her sister Kelly, Ben and his friends Bill, Amy and Tanya are surprised to see how out of the way the location really is. Talking to Gloria who runs the front desk, they find out that Samantha arrived before them and that the hotel may not be the money maker that they expected, but no matter, they came to the place to go camping and to have some fun. While not being able to find Samantha, the group does not give it a second thought as she is a mess and never delivers with what she promises. Heading out to the lake to take a swim, the group has a great time, but when Bill and Tanya head off into the woods to collect some fire wood, everything takes a change for the worse. Being chased by two crazed killers that have already murdered Samantha, Bill and Tanya never make it back to the lake and Amy goes missing as well and while Ben believes that his good friend is cheating on his girlfriend again, he sees Bill hanging from a tree and knows that there is something sinister going on. Running back to the RV, Ben tells the group about what has happened, and they try to get away, but the killers are right on their heels. Getting back to the road, Ben, Brielle and Kelly are picked up by a local cop that is ready to hear their stories. Taking them back to the hotel for questioning, the three are starting to suspect that there is something funny going on with the situation as there seems to be nothing being done when it comes to the murder of their friends. Talking it out with Sheriff Chuck, the group is told that the state police will be taking over, but when they arrive at their next destination and find themselves tied up, they know that they are in far more trouble than they were before. This is one of those movies that frightens you on many levels, but with known killers on the loose, you would never expect a nice old woman and a cop to be in on the events as well. This movie houses some disturbing scenes and a sick storyline about keeping the family line pure. I liked how the sisters Kelly and Brielle were left in the dark about who and what their family actually is. Being upset with their father about not telling them they had an extended family; they understand why when they meet them. Even though this movie does not have the massive amounts of blood that you would expect from a psycho killer movie, when you do get to see it, you are not disappointed. Stay Scared.
