Written by Scott Edwards College can be one of the best times of your life. Getting to meet new people from all over the country, it is just a time that you never want to forget. But there are so many people that don’t feel the same way as they did not have the pleasure of a great experience since they had to find jobs to support their class schedule. The price of college keeps getting higher and higher and many people are having to take a year off after high school just to get enough money put together so they can attend. With the promise of greener pastures when completed, it is important to get as much out of the classes as you possibly can, because real life is unforgiving. Justine is ready to start her Thanksgiving break off in style, at least as much style as she can since she is unable to afford a ticket home for the holiday. With all of her classmates gone and her boyfriend leaving as well, she will be all alone on the campus with the exception of her roommate, but that does not stay true either. When her roommate is invited up to Aspen to visit her parents, Justine is left all alone and will have to find ways to occupy her days. Having the dorms all to herself, she is able to stay amused, but as the holiday approaches, she needs to head off campus and get some food to celebrate with. While at the local shop, Justine spots a young woman that seems to have an attitude problem when throwing all of the magazines on the ground. When Justine reaches the checkout, it is revealed that the strange woman is a student and she demands a discount like what Justine receives. As the strange woman is not able to get what she wants, Justine offers to buy the sunglasses that she wants but that makes the moment worse. The strange woman starts to yell at Justine for being better than her and wants nothing from her. Being chastised for doing something nice for another person has left Justine floored and she heads back to campus to enjoy her quiet holiday. All is not quiet on the holiday front however when Justine sees that she has been followed back to campus and the one strange woman has turned into a group that has one thing on their minds, to kill. As the security guards on campus are the first to go, Justine has to find a way to get the word out that she is being hunted while not giving away her position. Having free reign to the entire campus may be her only way of surviving the attack by the hooded strangers, but without being able to get any help, how long can she survive before just tiring out? I have been on both sides of trying to do something nice for a stranger and I have very few regrets over it. There are those people that are just looking to take advantage of the situation and these are the ones that make it hard to trust anyone else’s kind intentions. I don’t fully understand what Justine could have done differently to keep the gang of killers from chasing after her, but there does not have to be a reason behind everything, some people don’t even need a reason to be set off, they just love to hunt. Even though Justine is alone on the campus, she is strong and smart enough to keep her wits about her, especially when it comes down to protecting herself. Stay Scared.
