Written by Scott EdwardsBasking in the light of victory is a good thing for people to do every now and then, but you have to know when to come back down to Earth. Even though it is hard to admit, life continues to move around you and if you don’t pay attention because you think it is foolish, you might miss something that will take you down a level or two. While I am all for taking a victory lap and enjoying it for what it is worth, it is meaningless if you are not able to follow up on it with another win, because that is what life is all about. Keep your drive alive and keep working to be the best and celebrate when you have the chance, just remember to keep an eye out as the world keeps spinning. While getting ready to put some posts in the ground, Jack Taggart Sr. is making sure that his youngest son Billy knows what he is doing. Hanging the scarecrows in the corn field, it is important that he gets them on tight so they don’t blow off again. Turning his attention back to the Post-Puncher and seeing that someone messed with it, Jack is upset with both of his boys, but when he hears Billy scream in the cornfield and sees something taking the boy, Jack shuts down and does not know what to do. But Jackie Jr. is not giving up on finding his brother and finds a knife that has been left by the creature in the field that gives his father the perfect idea. Getting out to the barn and making a weapon that will ground this flying beast, Jack does not know what lies on the road ahead for himself and his boy. Driving back after winning the championship basketball game, the group of players are having a great time and screaming their chant song until the bus gets a flat tire. Investigating the cause of this flat, the driver and coaches find what appears to be a throwing star made of bone stuck in it. Trying to call back in for help on the radio, the driver gets no response. As time goes by and everyone is getting restless, the group loads back onto the bus and tries to make it a little further to get a signal. While falling asleep, cheerleader Minxie has a dream of two different boys telling the group to turn back, but she is not able to figure out why, but when seeing a creepy man running alongside the bus before he causes another flat tire, she is shocked to see that her dream was in fact, reality. Finding another bone throwing star in the tires, the adults understand that there is something strange going on and try to keep the kids calm, but that only lasts for so long as the Creeper takes them away one by one. With no more adults, team captain Scotty tries to take control of the situation but does not have the buy in from everyone else. With the doors locked, the group gets to see what they are up against face to face as the Creeper takes a long look at his future meals through the back window. Passing out from fear, Minxie has another dream and knows exactly what they are up against. Telling the group what she saw, they must try and find a way to survive the Creeper’s attacks, but only wanting a few of the group causes a rift that possibly none of them will survive. I must admit, as a sequel goes, this one really did the story right. With plenty of scares like the original, you get some great deaths as well, even some reanimation of limbs for the Creeper which was excellent. I liked the two storylines between Jack’s family and the high schoolers combining at the end, as the story really went around full circle for a great payoff. I am still unsure how Minxie got the gift of seeing the ghosts of the previously deceased, I wish that would have been explained a little better, but with the Creeper taking anyone at will, it did not take too much away from the storyline. With missing limbs, a dog, a bone handle knife, a massive harpoon gun, a revenge minded father, a pissed off basketball team and a bus that gets totally destroyed. This is just a fun movie overall and you should be able to identify with one of the stories being told, since it covers much more than love and revenge. Stay Scared.
