There was a time, where introducing children and teenagers to elements of horror through television, was nothing short of taboo. For such elements were considered to be dangerous to children and so many believed that such concepts should not be introduced into their lives until their age was appropriate enough for them to understand the fictional nature of such stories. But as the years rolled on, it became apparent that introducing young minds to horror in the proper manner, i.e., not trauma bombing them with gore and hardcore scares… could in fact be beneficial to a young mind. To help them comprehend fear and perhaps process it in a healthy manner with a little supervision and discussion with their parents. Which of course brought forth stories that blended kids’ themed storytelling and scary stuff together, and the seamless nature of those stories and their outright success, paved the way for a new generation of spooky centric storytelling aimed at kids to come to life, and it just so happens that a special show in that vein is heading our way. For 10/27/23 will see the debut of Curses! on Apple TV+. A spooky animated adventure series that will offer up a grandiose and engaging plot, that is grounded in somewhat heavier horror elements than we usually see for this type of show, as evidenced by today’s gift from Apple TV+.
