Written by Scott Edwards THIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM. YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.Some experts say that if you go to sleep while listening to the radio or watching television, it affects your dream state. While I am no expert in these types of things, I tend to fall asleep with some sort of background noise from the television and for the most part it does not affect my dreams, as last night I was listening to a show where bugs burrow into people’s brains and make their heads explode, I dreamt about owning a dog, so not really the same. But there are different things that happen in people’s subconscious and sometimes they are more open to suggestion than mine currently is. So, I will tell you this, if you have a sure-fire way to go to sleep, use it no matter what the experts say, since sleep is one of the most important things the body needs to revitalize you for your next day’s conquest. Falling asleep while listening to a radio show that is talking about the macabre, Kyle is shaken from his dream state. Waking up to the darkness surrounding him, he has no idea what is going on and tries to figure out why he was awoken. Seeing nothing in the darkness, Kyle hears a growl coming from the corner of the room and arms himself with a baseball bat to investigate. Still not seeing anything in the still of the night, the growl comes again, and he spots a faint outline of something standing before him and swings with all of his might, knocking the figure down. Turning on his light and seeing that he has successfully taking out his coat rack, Kyle needs to find a way to get his wits back. Going into the bathroom and splashing some cold water on his face, Kyle is forced to come to terms that he must have imagined the entire thing. Heading back to bed without a fear in the world, Kyle lies his head back and tries to go to sleep. Unbeknownst to him, there is something in his room with him and it has a far more nefarious plan for the night. While this episode feels really fast, it does everything right when it comes to a good foreshadowing. Plus, you get a little treat with the radio show talking about the previous episode that had to deal with a stuffed animal possession, and here you learn that mother and daughter got out alive, along with a little piece on UFO stories from an ex Air Force General. But back to Kyle. Because it was good to see that Kyle was conscious enough to think that there was trouble lurking around his room, especially since it is difficult to get your bearings when you are violently woken up in the middle of the night and if I was in his shoes, I would have just gone back to sleep. With a story of a possessed stuffed animal, a shaking room, some lights from out of this world, a baseball bat, a coat rack, some questioning of one’s sanity and an entity that may or not be of this world, this episode really hammers home that there are more than a few things that go bump in the night. Stay Scared.
