‘The Witching Season’ Recap: ‘Killer on the Loose’

Halloween is supposed to be a great time for ghoulies and ghosties and goodies to be hitting the streets, and it should be free of those unstable people who are hoping to make a scene to become famous in one way or another. While you are able to put on a mask or paint your face up to act a fool for the night, you should always be mindful about the future generations, as this night should be for them as well. It does not matter if you are looking to get scared out of your boots at a haunted house or get a massive sugar rush by eating handfuls of candy, it is a night that should be enjoyed by all. Just make sure when you head out for the night that you are on the lookout for those who may be trying to ruin it for the rest of us, because that is what some people like to do.

While running through the woods with only a flashlight, a young woman is looking for some sort of safe haven after being chased by someone. Seeing a house in the distance, the woman is able to make it to the property line and sees a Halloween Graveyard, showing that the family inside really likes Halloween. Despite the scares frightening her just a bit, she makes her way into the house and rests a bit while looking at her bruises from being restrained in the past. Thinking that she lost the person following her, she is shocked when she hears a knock at the door and runs into the living room to find a good place to hide.

Seeing lights flashing in the upstairs window, a man in a hockey mask decides that the house is the next place he is going to check for his prey. Entering the house and finding it quiet, the man looks around and finds the television in the living room has been paused, causing pause for him as well. Looking around more on the main floor, he hears the television come back to life and knows that his prey is somewhere near. Making his way upstairs, the man takes a brief look around, but turns his focus to the flashing light in the bedroom. Opening the door, the man is shocked to see he was the not the first one there, and someone is about to change his life forever.

Interesting little story here, as a twist makes sure you will question what you just watched. As the woman moves around the house, she appears to be fearful for her life, but comes to find out that she is not the only victim as the house had a previous visitor. The man seems to have an idea about the house and while the television is set to pause on a great scene from Night of the Living Dead, his search for the woman comes at a great price. With a Halloween Graveyard, some bruises, a kitchen knife, a machete, a hockey mask, a great black and white movie and a twist, this episode really gets you wondering what would happen if someone thought you were following them and they took it a step too far.
