Written by Scott Edwards Once in a while an opportunity presents itself that is too good for anyone to pass up. Being able to change your life for the better makes everyone think twice about what they are doing, but when we are able to make it happen, it is a load off of our shoulders. Needing to keep your eyes open for such an event, it is easy to watch it pass by when it seems too good to be true. With all that happens in our everyday lives, just making sure we are making the most of it and looking forward rather than looking back, is the only way to live. Sarah and Ed are looking for a change in their lives and Ed is very unhappy with his current position at work and needs to do something new. When driving into Scotland to see a house that is well within their price range, they both get to see how beautiful the Scottish countryside is and that is why they are on this endeavor. Arriving at the house, they find that it is far off of the beaten path but will not let that deter them from their goal of starting over. Hearing that the locals are not able to afford the price, it is the couples for the taking if they want it and Sarah has to do some heavy convincing to get Ed to bend and buy the house. Selling their flat in London, the couple moves into their new home without a care in the world. Knowing that the house is full of history since the land has always had some sort of structure on it since the early 1300s, they expect to hear some strange things now and again. While Sarah is able to build a new plug for her lamp, she winds up shorting out the fuse box leaving the house as dark as night. Even though she is not traditionally afraid of the dark when the night moves in, she is starting to hear strange things outside of the house. Waking Ed up, the couple head out to investigate and find that there is a wild pig in their yard making the strange shrieking sounds. Knowing that there is nothing to be afraid of, Ed continuously torments Sarah by playing afraid of the dark gags on her, but she is visibly shaken over what has already happened. Waking up a couple hours later, Sarah hears the door downstairs open and footsteps on the floor. Waking up Ed once again, the couple walk through the first level of the house to find nothing again, but now Sarah knows that there is something strange happening in her new home. When Ed is sent downstairs to get some candles, he is able to repair the fuse box restoring power but does not come back up to bed. Sarah believes that her husband is just messing around with her again, but when she sees strangers walking around her house looking for her, she knows that he has been taken and needs to find him before something really bad happens. With time against her, Sarah finds places to hide around the property while the masked men try to locate her, and when she finds out where Ed has been imprisoned, all bets are off on what she will do. There are movies out there that have a minimal cast that blow you away and this is one of them. With only the two main characters to follow for a majority of the story, you get to see how they grow up close and personal without a break in the story. I liked how Ed was never one to give up on who he was and even after being taken is more worried about his lovely bride than anything else. Even though Sarah was more on the run when her house was broken into, she has enough power to take care of herself and to follow what is most important to her, her husband. This is just a solid movie, one that features two good characters fighting for their lives against an unknown number of stalkers that are looking to do something sinister to them, they just do not know what. Stay Scared.
