Written by Scott EdwardsSeeing things out the corner of your eyes is nothing unusual, in fact we all have done it enough times and do double takes when it happens to make sure that what we are seeing is real. While sometimes what we think we saw was something completely different, there are some occasions that it was exactly what we thought it was. During these occasions, it takes us time to process what we are seeing and while we do not want to believe it, we trust our eyes over everything else. We may believe what we are seeing all of the time, but we must remember that sometimes our eyes have been known to play tricks on us. Turning on the news and sitting down to eat breakfast, Larry hears a frantic knock at the door. Opening it up and seeing his elderly neighbor Zach who is obviously upset, Larry is convinced to head over to his house to see what is disturbing him. Listening to Zach’s story about his wife being in Cleveland and upstairs at the same time, Larry takes it with a grain of salt, but when looking up the staircase, he sees the face of Zach’s wife peeking around the corner. Desperate to prove that his wife is not home, Zach calls her once again and she confirms that she is still in Cleveland. Being beside himself, Larry asks if the old woman is alright and she only has one thing to say. Telling her younger neighbor to ‘play’ with her, the old woman is not willing to say or do anything else. Telling Zach that he is going to leave due to the creepiness that he is witnessing, Larry sees the old man suddenly doing the exact same thing. Peeking around the corner in the kitchen, Zach wants his neighbor to play with him as well. Escaping the craziness of his elderly neighbors, Larry has no idea that this creepy game is far from over, in fact it has just begun. If you’re trying to find a short film that will make your skin crawl, there is nothing creepier than sweet old people acting out in disturbing fashion. I must admit that their actions gave me the chills and I will never look at old people the same way again. Just the look on the faces of those peeking around the corners is creepy enough, but when you add in that they want to play and not tell you what the game is, well, damn. Playing a game with someone that does not know the rules is just not fair, but if you explain everything to them and then they want to play, well, I guess that means that all bets are off the table. Stay Scared.
