Written by Scott Edwards It is always good to take a quick trip out to be with nature, even if it is only for a couple of hours. Being able to shut out the noise that you cannot get away from in the city is a good time and something that more of us need to try. With no cell phone, no television, no internet, it makes for a peace that we would not normally get when staying home for the weekend. Just know however, that nature may have its own plans for you when you get there, as the wildlife and other creatures may be looking to have some fun with a newcomer. Pulling onto the backroad that will take him into the woods, a man and his dog listen to the radio and hear that the meteorite storm is a little heavier than normal this time of year. Thinking nothing of this, especially since it will just be himself and his dog for the weekend, the man continues on to find the right camping spot. Passing a sign that says that they are entering Bigfoot Country, the man pays the sign no mind, since there is no such thing as Bigfoot. With a fire set in the middle of camp, the man and his dog have a great time telling stories and taking selfies and when bedtime comes, they are both tuckered out and ready for a great undisturbed sleep. While the two are asleep in the tent, a meteor falls from the sky and the dog wakes up and is acting kind of concerned. Pawing at his owner, the dog knows that there is something in the woods and a large growl lets the man know that they are not alone. Not knowing who or what is outside of the tent, the man is shocked when a large woodland beast takes him from his humble confines. Screaming all the way to the Bigfoot’s camp, the man is quickly able to escape, only to find that he is lost in the woods and stumbles upon an old graveyard that slowly comes back to life. Being able to find his tent and his dog, the man begs his best friend to get to safety, as an invasion is taking place, but little does the man know what this really means. Okay, this horror short made me laugh a little too much and I am not ashamed to say it. With some old school special effects, it is just a joy to see that some filmmakers are not afraid to make something silly for the masses to see. I really liked how it took a crashing UFO to make the forest come to life and while the man is the overall target of everything that is taking place, the dog steals the show hands down. With a meteor shower, a crashing UFO, a Bigfoot, some aliens, some zombies, an abduction, a weak tractor beam, and an owl who seems to know what is going on, this is just a fun little alien/Bigfoot/zombie movie that will leave you wondering what is really going on in the woods when no one is around. Stay Scared. See ‘BEINGS’ on Amazon Prime.
