It is definitely safe to say that everyone’s San Diego Comic-Con Experience has been vastly different in 2023. For the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have changed the dynamic of how shows are presented this year, since no stars or creative writers were present to speak about their upcoming projects and rightfully so. Since they’re on the picket lines fighting for better wages and better job security, which they absolutely deserve. But it did mean, that announcements and news regarding shows, and movies had to be handled differently and, in this instance, a great deal of what we learned this year about what’s coming up and what’s changing came about via simple presentations. The kind that featured trailers and graphics and quick hit videos and those came at fans at SDCC and on the internet in a rapid-fire fashion, and one particular franchise that offered up a bevy of quick hitting video announcements, was The Walking Dead Universe. For AMC Networks had a lot of good news to share with its fans. Such as the fact that The Walking Dead: Dead City, has been given a second season order, as has The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, well before the show has even aired. And that news was followed by a full-length trailer for season one of Daryl’s new solo show… and the news and announcements didn’t end there. For we also came to learn this weekend the release date for the back half of the final season of Fear the Walking Dead, which will happen on October 22nd, and of course… we finally came to learn a little more about the forthcoming Rick and Michonne spin-off series. For instance, it will not be titled Rick & Michonne as originally expected. It instead, will be titled The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, and it will indeed be coming to the airwaves in 2024, and that announcement… also had something more for the fans. Courtesy of a powerful teaser that spoke to a powerful TWD show and well… in case you missed those trailers and teasers or you’re like us and watch them an unhealthy number of times, here they are for you to enjoy, as you work to process all this news from the world of The Walking Dead. ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Season 2 Announcement
