Written by John Edward BetancourtTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...It seems to be a new tradition for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to completely blow us away episode wise in the month of April. Last year they rocked the house in April when Hydra revealed themselves to Coulson and the crew and this year, season two brought forth one amazing episode with the incredible and moving "Melinda", which aired last night. Obviously last night's story revolved around the baddest agent out there in Melinda May, but Skye also played an important part as she learned how to use her powers through the tutelage of her mother, Jiaying. Of course, she didn't quite know this was mom just yet and everyone in Afterlife was pretty stunned by the fact that Jiaying, the leader of this community was even taking the time to personally teach anyone how to use their powers. Of course, eventually Skye found out Jiaying was her mother in some incredibly touching scenes, one that even included Cal acting like a dad and not a jackass, but while all of this was awesome, it pales in comparison to Melinda's story, which oddly enough tied into the Inhuman storyline. Since Jiaying told the tale of an Inhuman that disobeyed the rules and quickly found herself dead because of it...in the city of Bahrain. Yes, it turns out this incident is where Melinda earned the nickname "The Cavalry" and did so in badass fashion, but not before we learned how nice of a gal Melinda was before this incident. She was ready to start a family, was friendlier than we have ever seen on the show and it all changed because of one little girl. A kidnapped child, and a silent S.H.I.E.L.D. team led Melinda to go in and kick some ass as only she can to discover that the little girl was an Inhuman, one that could control people with the mere touch of her hands and after battling her super strong mother, Melinda was faced with a choice. Let the little girl touch her and succumb to the mind control, be dealt with in brutal fashion by her fellow teammates, or put the little girl down. Sadly, she chose the latter and was never the same. She rejected her husband, took a desk job and became the icy agent we know today. Hands down, I was absolutely blown away by this episode. I love how everything tied in, and while they tried to put together a major revelation in the fact that it looked like Coulson was assembling an army of gifted people from the index...it paled in comparison to the brutal beauty of this episode. On one end we had Skye finally finding out more of who is she and who she could be and the joy of all of that, compounded with the heartbreaking story of Melinda May and her loyalty to S.H.I.E.L.D. and duty costing her so much. Seriously, Ming-Na Wen needs to be considered for an award for this episode, she was absolutely fantastic in her performance and this truly was the finest episode of the season for this show, and if it's anything like how it went last year, we should be in for more incredible episodes as well. Until next time.

Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...It's been quite some time since this show has been on. The mini break left me wondering what exactly would happen with just 4 episodes left in the season. Last time we saw everyone, things had gone a bit down hill, to say the least. Alfred is still struggling from his encounter with his supposed friend Reggie. I think it's safe to say, that friendship is over. And to make matters worse, we know Reggie is working for members of the Wayne Enterprises Board. It seems he's taken some files from Bruce's stash and that can't be good. Selina does pop in to offer some condolences on the situation, which is some small prize. Gordon gets blindsided when Bullock turns on the case that had Flass in jail for the murder of a man and some drug smuggling. Bullock's confession and retraction make it so Flass is free, and Gordon is just a bit pissed off about that. So what's going on? Bullock is a loyal friend right? Turns out, Commissioner Loeb has some dirt on just about every GCPD cop, and he's got no problem throwing that around. In Harvey's case, that blackmail was strong enough for him to go against Gordon. With little to go on, Jim turns to Harvey Dent for help. If there's one thing Gordon is, it's stubborn. The plan is to find Loeb's weakness; because surely he has some. Thankfully, they don't have to look to far. Gordon eventually gets Harvey onboard, and sadly they have to go to the Penguin again, because Loeb has entrusted Falcone to keep his secret safe. The boys are expecting some paperwork of some kind, a stash with ally he GCPD blackmail, but what they find is far from what they were expecting. Nestled up in the attic of a farm house out in the country, lies a very important girl. The patrons of the home are a married couple employed by Falcone and Loeb to keep the living secret. They're not to keen on Gordon and Bullock snooping around. Penguin is just as suspicious of a this whole mess...mostly he's scared they'll figure out who he is. A gunfight ensues when the couple decide that these men can't be trusted. Low and behold, our good guys win. Cobblepot is left to watch them while Bullock and Gordon investigate. The person in the attic is Loeb's daughter. She happens to have a few screws missing, but has an affinity for making jewelry out of bird skeletons. It doesn't take long for Jim to figure it out from there. The mentally insane girl had killed her mother in a fit of rage. Loeb locked her away as to keep it all secret, and keep the girl out of Arkham. Gordon takes his new knowledge to Loeb, in exchange for Bullock's blackmail file. Jim is done messing around, but he's still a loyal friend. What do we have to look forward to tonight!? Seems Zsasz is threatening Cobblepot, and really, I'm more interested to know what's going to happen with Jim and Leslie since Barbara is back in town... Written by ScottyI am not going to lie, but I am concerned about what is going to happen in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie. Now, it may be too early to voice what my worries are, since Age of Ultron has yet to hit the big screen, but there are several things that might not make this story as special as I have been hoping for. Here is what is bothering me with the upcoming movie. First, this is movie is going to be under the Captain America banner. Now, I will admit, I do enjoy the Captain America movies and I believe that The Winter Solider is the best Marvel movie to date, but there is so much more going on in the Civil War story than just Cap and what he is fighting against. With all of the characters that are going to need to be introduced into this story, there will not be the proper time to give Cap his dues, much less everyone else that will be involved in the battle and no offense to Chris Evans, but whenever Robert Downey Jr. is on the screen as Tony Stark, all attention is pulled to him. In fact one of my other concerns character wise is that if they do stay true to the comics and bring many of them into the the fold is that we may lose sight of what Steve Rodgers is fighting for. One of the other things that I worry about is that everyone that thinks differently than Cap is deemed a bad guy in the movies. Is this right? Do you want to have some of your favorite superheroes become hated because of the way they think about a new law that comes into effect? I hope not, and this is something that will have to be looked at very closely by the studio before they make some of your favorite heroes into villains in the Marvel universe. There are going to have to be more than the six Avengers in this movie to make it work and I know we will get a couple new heroes added into the mix after Age of Ultron, but will that truly be enough to make the story work? In the books, the team that works with the government and S.H.I.E.L.D. has to hunt down superheroes all over the country, but in all of the stories leading up to this, there are very few that are on the radar. And once you introduce a new character, don’t you want to have them get a little bit of a back story so the audience will decide if they want to like or hate them? This cannot happen in a Captain America movie since it will be pulling all of the attention away from the primary character. I fear that we will meet several new characters for one brief moment in time and have to forget about them in the end since there will not be time to form any bonds with them in the allotted time of the movie. Next, secret identities. There are none in the current Marvel universe. Everyone knows who the Captain is, who Iron Man is, all of New York knows who the Hulk is and so on. There has been an outcry to get Spiderman into this movie and I know there are still talks about adding him into the story, however, do you really need him now? Since the world knows who their heroes are, this part of the story and Spiderman’s importance has pretty much been shot out the window. In the books, Spiderman is the first masked hero to stand along with S.H.I.E.L.D. and has to be won back over by those who do not want to comply with the new government regulations. Now, since there are next to no secret identities, this part of the story line is dead and we don’t need to web slinger to be one of the most important characters. I can see the story playing out a bit differently than what happened in the books, with more of a registration type of program and the heroes being trained how to do their jobs right, but I don’t know if this will be powerful enough with the few heroes we know to make it an epic story. I have long hoped to see this movie come to the big screen, but I am genuinely concerned about what will happen with it being under the Captain America banner, when there is so much more story to tell than what he stands for. Once again, I am a Captain fan and will not take anything away from the films to date, I just believe that it is the wrong way to introduce one of the largest battles in the Marvel universe that will have hero vs. hero. I hope that I am wrong with my concerns about this, but I have the highest expectations for this movie and if something is not done right, it will be disastrous for me. Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Trying to help a stranger can lead to two things. One, they will be grateful and give you praise and thanks for all of your efforts. Two, they could be the person that you should not have saved and make turn your life onto its side and try to hurt you for your efforts. Either way, it is always a good practice to help someone in need, if you do or do not know them. It is in our nature to want to help those in need, but you may want to think twice about how far you are willing to go to make sure they are going to be ok. The masked Matt Murdock lies bleeding in a dumpster when he gets a good samaritan’s help. Not knowing who the man in back is, nurse Claire Temple wants to help bring him back to health, but Matt is not willing to allow it. Not wanting to tell her who he is and not allowing her to call the hospital for help, Matt does divulge the information that landed him in the dumpster. When trying to locate a boy that has been kidnapped, a trap had been set up for him by the Russian syndicate to get him out of the way. Using his senses, Matt is able to tell that he is far from out of trouble when one of the henchmen is going from door to door, trying to find the masked vigilante. Karen has decided to work as Matt and Foggy’s secretary in their emerging law firm. Since they have done so much to help her, it is the least that she can do, but she is still not comfortable walking around the city, even though they think that she is in the clear. Being a friend, Foggy offers to take the young woman out for a drink at his favorite watering hole and breaks down what is actually happening with his first client. Karen is afraid to go home, even afraid to walk around the city any more since all she can see now is the blood from a friend on the floor of her apartment and the darkness around every corner in the city. Knowing that she needs to calm down and enjoy the city once again, drinking is Foggy’s plan to get Karen to lower her guard, if even for the night. The two converse and get stinking drunk and come up with a plan to get Matt involved with the fun, but when he is not home, they have plenty of time to kill before their next exciting venture takes place, the fish market. While Claire is unsure about the man she is taking care of and keeping out of the lime light, she wants to know more and comes clean about the reason she is helping him. There have been stories coming into the ER where she works about a man in a mask helping the needy out when being attacked by criminals around the city. Knowing what her masked stranger is capable of, she may be able to help the cause, especially if he is to fall back into a dumpster, bleeding and in need of medical care. When Matt interrogates one of the Russian henchmen that was sent out to find him, Claire jumps in and tells him exactly where to cut. Not believing that Matt really enjoys hurting the wicked, Claire knows that he is the man that Hell’s Kitchen has been waiting for to help clean up the streets from the vermin that have been scurrying around for so many years. While being tended to on the couch in Claire’s apartment, Matt thinks back to the early days of being with his dad. Matt was very good at patch work for his boxing father, but when he lost the ability to see, he had to help his father in other ways. Jack Murdock was a very proud man, proud of himself and even more so of his son for being able to combat the loss of sight. When Jack gets word that he will be able to fight against one of the top names in the boxing game, he has to wait and hear the catch. Being told to take a dive for more money, Jack agrees so he can get enough money to help his son in the future, but he gets a change of heart when talking to his boy the night before the fight and is ready to turn things around. Wanting to have his son hear the praises of the fans, Jack bets on himself to win and will have all of the money put into the bank under his son’s name, since he has a notion of what will happen to him after the fight. Still getting to know your characters at this point in the series, but you still get a couple great action sequences and a taste of torture. Only battling a small part of the Russian syndicate, you get to see and hear what they have planned for the masked vigilante that is making their lives difficult. I did enjoy meeting Claire in this episode, she seemed to be holding back early on in the episode, but then when she found out who the masked man was, she started to let her guard down, along with trying to help him with his cause. Looking at the flashback sequences, I fear this might be the last one with Matt’s father since they have decided to show his death already, but I am far from a story teller and might be surprised to see what other aspects of his life can be shown to help unlock the secrets behind Matt’s devotion to the cause. Keep watching and let's see what unfolds. Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Watching this at work was probably the wrong thing to do, since I literally just had to cover my mouth and scream. Holy weasel biscuits you guys! This episode! Seriously! What did we just watch!? What happened??? I'm sitting here like 13 kinds of both amazed, stunned, and angry! So many emotions going on at once, can't be a good thing. Like, okay. Let's just sit down and talk for a moment. Right, Emma is still violently pissed off at her parents for lying to her. Who can blame her? They do admit to knowing the author, and blame him for going down this path. Emma has a few good points, however, that nothing was worth forsaking another soul over. It's a sad truth...our author, Walt, is busy running away when he stumbles into Gold, who convinces our stupid author to come with him. Because, manipulative reasons. So they vanish, and that plot point gets put on hold while Regina wakes up and Gold has a chat with her. So, we have Robin and we have Marian and they have Roland, and it's all dandy. He chose to go with her, because Marian is his wife. He's been struggling since the beginning with all his life choices over love and what not. Because, the heart is fickle, and fate is a thing, and all this leads up to Robin leaving with Marian and Roland. But what about Regina? She matters too! Of course she does. Robin can't get over her. His once true love and his now true love existing at the same time is just too much. How did this all even happen? In the past we see Robin and Marian running a tavern together, but the Sheriff of Douchery is demanding money Robin doesn't have. A deal is struck. Rumple will give him the money, in exchange for a potion that can mend any heart. This potion is in Oz...Robin agrees and goes! We get to meet Will. Zelena is awful...and Robin makes a choice to give the stollen potion to Will instead of Rumple after sad story times. Cool, right? Now, I did not actually watch the 3rd season. I'm sure this makes me a bad person, but listen, it happens. Sometimes you just need to take a break from a show. I'm slowly working on getting better at it, but it happens. I figured out that Gold kills Zelena once he finds out she killed his son. Annnddd from this moment on, the shock of what happened next...wellll. I'm still wanting to yell. When Gold was pushed out of Storybrooke, before he found Ursula, he went to Neal's old apartment. Which was given to Robin and his family by Regina. Gold suffers a heart attack in front of them, and gets Robin to steal this magical potion that can still cure hearts from a store. However, the potion he drinks isn't the one he asked for, but cold medicine. Marian switched the vials, because she wants him dead. Okay, totally out of character from what we've seen all episode! And then, then, she changes. Marian isn't Marian. Marian is Zelena. And Zelena wants Regina to never have her happy ending. It doesn't matter how she does it, she just wants that to happen. It's Zelena who killed Marian and took her form. She's stowed away with Emma and Hook into the past. Only to kill Marian and become her....she tells Gold about the Author, and they have a deal. She'll give him the potion for her happy ending. All this time we were being deceived. In the end, in present day, Gold gives Regina Robin's number. Zelena answers and....well...that goes bad. And it gets worse. Gold tells Regina he can have Robin killed if she doesn't help turn Emma's heart dark. And that's how it ends. Guys! What even right now! I'm both shocked and angry!!!! I said that before, but it hasn't changed! I can't wait a whole week for more!!! Sadly, we have to... Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Trying to do the right thing can be costly to yourself and those around you. Even though the laws we are all supposed to abide by are to keep us safe, there are plenty of people above them who will never be punished for their crimes. It may seem far fetched, but it is something that happens every day and if the law will not take care of the problem, who will? Vigilante justice is a way to go, but know this, if you are caught enforcing it, you will be branded the same as the actual criminal that has been taken off of the street. It is a thin line to straddle and if there is a person hurting someone for their own benefits, who says that you should not be able to step in and help. Matt Murdock and his partner Foggy Nelson are in the market for an office for their new law practice. Matt does have a standard to who he will be defending at this practice, while Foggy is, quite simply, foggy about who they should stand up for. Being lawyers, the end goal is to defend the innocent while making a ton of money, but not all of the innocents that need help can afford to pay. Jumping at their first case and first client Karen Page, the two will be diving into something much more dangerous than they could imagine. Karen Page wakes up holding a bloody knife over a former co-worker, but does not know what has happened. Working at Union Allied Construction as a secretary, Karen has uncovered something that the company does not what her to know, something that would compromise the integrity of the office. Trying to be persuaded to not go forward with her concern, Karen does not give up and tries to tell one of her friends about what she has found, but he ends up dead and she is the only suspect. Being attacked in her cell by a guard, Matt and Foggy are able to get her released and take her back to Matt’s apartment. Knowing that she has lied about what she knows, Matt uses Karen as bait to gather the information she has taken and find out what is really happening behind the scenes at Union Allied Construction and discover exactly who is trying to kill her. Jumping into Matt’s youth, you are able to see where he got his ethics from, his father. Learning so much from the old man and admiring him for everything that he has done, Matt knows what kind of man he wants to be. While putting on a black suit and mask over his face at night, Matt is able to combat the people that are looking to harm the innocent, despite the fact he has been blinded from a chemical spill. His latest bout of vigilante justice has taken place at the dock where young woman were being trafficked in a storage container and Matt was able to free them. But little does he know that the new top man working behind the scenes will be seeking him out, not only for his loss of money, but to end the fear of vigilante justice while he tries to conduct his own business in Hell’s Kitchen. A new boss has landed in Hell’s Kitchen and it has everybody wondering who he is. With his right hand man, Wesley attending all of his meetings, the lack of face time is disconcerting to his associates, but the mystery is keeping the fear of God in them if they do not comply. Wesley is the current face of the new regime that is taking over the city and knows everything that is happening on the streets. Trying to set up the first hit on Karen, using the debt owed by the guard, he hears about a masked man running around the streets at night who is costing his employer money. Wanting to know more about this vigilante, Wesley is also very keen in making sure that nothing else will be disturbed when it comes to his business. Working with his older counterpart, Leland, another hit is placed on Karen when she returns home to collect the jump drive she downloaded from work, but there is someone else following her. As the masked man is able to take out a professional hitman, the crime syndicate in Hell’s Kitchen has to take notice of what they will be in for if they continue their evil ways. Not a bad series opener at all. You get a ton of background on Matt Murdock, his roots and what he is striving to be. You also get a feeling of what the tone of the series is going to be, as you have a little bit of light hearted banter, along with plenty of dark images of the future. I must say that I am intrigued by the villains in this series already as they seem to have people everywhere around the city and are able to have someone killed at a moment’s notice. This shows the power of whomever is in charge of the crime syndicate and what he is able to do and that makes it out to be a very dangerous situation for anyone that dares cross him. Looking forward to the second episode, and since it is on Netflix, I am more than happy to start my binge watching. Keep watching and let's see what unfolds. There are few hobbies I have as girly as this one. I've always been a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to weddings and whatnot, I guess my inner girl comes out. What person doesn't want to feel special on their wedding day? For brides searching for their perfect dresses, I've got a few picks today, that may just take your breath away. I've been in love with Alfred Angelo's work since I found him. His Disney inspired wedding dresses have taken it all to the next level. Especially for those of us who wanted to be a Disney princess growing up. Now, there's a chance to truly shine on your wedding day. While many of his dresses are inspired by the gowns we love on our fictitious ladies, some are being made as exact replicas. The ever growing collection has welcomed several new dresses into the family lately. Most notedly, Queen Elsa's dress from Frozen has been translated into a true work of art. Made out of satin, organza, and of course tulle, this full length gown comes complete with a train. The detailed sequin beading gives the most gorgeous detail. The dress can be found in three colours; white and silver, Ivory and silver, and ice crystal. I'm not even sure what colour that is, but I want it! There's a size for every bride and this dress won't break the bank. At just $1399.00, I find this to be competitively reasonable for a bridal gown. Not that I spend my time watching television shows where people show for wedding gowns. Or anything. Because I totally do.... I have to say, I was stunned to find this Disney princess inspired wedding gown. Particularly the color! Now, I'm not one to look at traditional gowns; in a sense I want something different and unique. Colored bridal gowns have become a popular trend over the years, but they're still few and far between. I was a bit shocked to see Alfred Angelo had done a gown in red! Yep, inspired by Snow White, this fairy tale gown can be found in a scarlet red. Of course, if you like this full length ball gown, but aren't in love with the color, fret not! It also comes in Ivory and white along with the silver accents. This strapless, sweet heart, drop waist gown comes complete with crystal beads, pears, sequins and rhinestone detailing. And, let's not forget the cathedral length train. Princesses need trains! While I wasn't expecting a dress representing Snow White, this gorgeous red will make any bride the fairest of them all. Last for today is a gown I was really excited to see. It's a limited edition and I'm not sure how much longer it will be available, but this dress zooms past inspiration and pops straight out of the movie! For any Cinderella fan out there, this dress is a replica from the exact gown our beloved princess is seen wearing at the end of the newest live action film. The dress is made with sheer organza yoke, and like the last two, has that crystal beading and sequins for detail. The long sleeves give an elegant look to any lady, and the satin and tulle layered skirt is stunning with a chapel length train. This gown will be featured in white, Ivory, and light gold. It's not available for purchase now, but will be released mid April, which has to be soon, right?? While the glass slippers are not included, this dress will give any girl that fairy tale, princess, feel. I know for a fact a certain friend of mine might be geeking out over this one. Written by John Edward BetancourtTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...I'm starting to see a deep rooted theme this year on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it's one I'm starting to see more often, especially with these transitional episodes that are popping up between the big storylines, and that theme is fear. I'd love to say that it is a specific kind of fear, but it's not. Every single character on this show is terrified right now and last night it was front and center in "Afterlife". This episode split our attention between two major storylines this week, what happened to Skye after Gordon took her and the fallout of the coup d'teat at S.H.I.E.L.D. and while the scenes with Coulson and Hunter on the run from the group they were trying so desperately to heal were both fun and fascinating, especially their decision to go after Ward...Skye's story was the best part of the night for sure. But, the civil war in S.H.I.E.L.D. had its important moments as well. After all, Simmons for the most part seemed to finish her transition to the darkside by agreeing to help out Bobbi and the "real" S.H.I.E.L.D. crack the code to Fury's toolbox. A decision that essentially seemed to completely end her friendship with Fitz in heartbreaking fashion since he decided to leave the organization altogether. But it was nothing more than a ruse it would seem since after he left, he found the toolbox stashed in his bag, courtesy of Simmons. We also learned a lot about Gonzales last night, mainly that his heart really is in the right place, and he does believe in the core values of S.H.I.E.L.D. but his fear of seeing it all fall to pieces once again has him pressing for a different and dangerous direction. But all that aside, let's talk about Skye and her new temporary home in the middle of nowhere. She has been transported to a safe haven for people with her abilities and the plan, according to her new found friend, was to allow her time to explore her powers and learn to control them. But all of that went to hell when she discovered that Raina and Cal were in the same complex as her and well...Skye damn near killed Raina after confronting her. The only thing that saved the monster in the flower dress? Skye's mother. Yes. We all thought she was dead, but here she was on full display, badly scarred but willing to try and help her daughter, even though Skye doesn't quite know who she is yet. But, like I said, this was an episode filled to the brim with fear. Gonzales' motives are driven by the fear of watching S.H.I.E.L.D. fall once again, specifically at the hands of "Power People" as he calls them. Coulson is afraid for Skye's safety and the future of the organization and well, Skye is absolutely afraid of the unknown. All that terror made for some fascinating character development and I have to say I'm intrigued by the twist of Skye's mother returning from the dead and who didn't enjoy the return of Mike Peterson last night? But at the same time I'm hoping the show doesn't start sliding into a mix of action and then transition every other week. This is a show that found its groove with breakneck storytelling and I hope it gets back to it soon so it doesn't lose any momentum. Until next week. Written by John Edward BetancourtTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...After last week's giant and sweeping set up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. regarding the "real" S.H.I.E.L.D. and their sheer disdain for Coulson, we were treated to a grand payoff this week as the battle for this storied organization came to fruition and of course it happened in explosive fashion in the fast paced and surprisingly grim "One Door Closes." But before we get into the mess that played out on our television screens, we did spend a lot of time with Skye last night and her painful journey in solitude at a house that was revealed to be a retreat and safe place for Bruce Banner to deal with the Hulk. During her stay, the mysterious Gordon arrives to explain how he and his band of Inhumans can help her understand her powers and help her grow them. But with Skye clearly hesitant toward his offer, Gordon lets her know she can call upon him at any time and leaves her be, a choice that pays off at the end of the show. But while Skye considers Gordon's offer, the battle for S.H.I.E.L.D. is about to begin and we were treated with a lot of backstory in this episode. We learned that on the day S.H.I.E.L.D. fell, Bobbi, Isabelle Hartley (in an awesome Lucy Lawless cameo) and other S.H.I.E.L.D. remnant did their best to complete a mission that Fury gave to Bobbi aboard the very carrier they now call their home base. It turns out that Gonzales was the commander of this boat, Mack was the chief engineer, and this is also the day that Bobbi decided there would be no more lies in this agency and rather than follow her original orders to scuttle the ship...they fought to re take it. Why was this relevant? Because putting an end to secrets, and the fact that Coulson has them all in Fury's toolbox is the "real" S.H.I.E.L.D.'s goal and as Bobbi returns to the base to find the toolbox, Coulson confronts Mack, letting him know he found the scanner in toy Lola and wants to know who he is working for. Alas he doesn't get to discover the truth from Mack, since Gonzales and his team assault the base with Bobbi's help. It leads to a confrontation between Gonzales and Coulson after the dust has settled and the base is seized where Gonzales reveals his distrust for Coulson thanks to the alien blood in his veins and that he wants the toolbox to put an end to threats like Skye and possibly Coulson once and for all by getting Fury's secrets out into the open. It gives May a chance to send Coulson away to keep S.H.I.E.L.D. alive and a chance to warn Skye, since they are headed to retrieve her as well. But she manages to escape in impressive fashion, sending a controlled shockwave into Bobbi and Gonzales lackey Calderon before asking Gordon to take her home. The episode ends with Hunter meeting Coulson in a bar in the tropics where the two of them form an alliance to take care of business like only they can. Have to say that I'm quite intrigued with the back half of this season becoming so incredibly xenophobic toward characters with Skye's style of talents and last night in many ways brought it to a head. After all Simmons has been building up that fear for weeks but to see that the Gonzales led portion of S.H.I.E.L.D. is like this as well is nothing short of shocking. I'm not quite sure yet what it is building toward, but it is clear this theme will be coming to a head on the show for sure. Plus as I mentioned before the dark cloud surrounding this show is back since the whole episode had a heavy feel around it, and well...I loved it. Yet, despite the awesomeness of this episode, in many ways it felt like a part one of a big time story arc. After all, Coulson is on the run from his own organization since they have seized the base and well...Skye is in one strange place and I'm dying to see where the story goes from here. Until next week my friends. |
