Written by: ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...I'm not going to lie to you guys, this week's episode totally made me cry. And I'm not one to cry, often (or really ever), so that's saying something. The upside of all the tears is we got to learn about Russell's past. Once thought as just the loyal sidekick to John and Cara; it turns out his past is the one that broke my heart the most. Russell had a loving family who pushed him to pursue the piano. Of which, he's insanely talented at. As he's playing at a competition, something strange happens. The keys start playing by themselves. He tries to explain this to his father afterwards, but the man will not pay it any mind and brushes it off. Being smart, he figures out most of his powers pretty quick. Telepathy gets him to win some pretty big stakes private poker games, with some less than reputable men. Russell's luck runs out, however, when he's accused of cheating and nearly killed for it. He manages to teleport away in the nick of time; just a few feet. Grabs the roll of cash he brought with him, and runs. Flash to present day and we see that Russell and Stephen are in a pool hall, hustling pool for cash. Until some hot chick challenges them, hustles them, and takes off. In their per suite they find this mystery girl, is one of them. She's not willing to cooperate though, kicks their butts, and runs. Time to call in Jed, right? Nope, he's out of town. Leaving Darcy (Stephen's 'partner') in charge of this one. Darcy is a Tomorrow People working for Jed, but unlike Stephen, she's dedicated to the cause. She is nice enough to hide the fact that she ran into Astrid (Stephen's best friend) on their last killing spree (last week's episode). Willing to withhold information from Jed seems to not be her style, but hey, maybe she's got a soul after all? In the meantime, Cara and John are still at odds, since Cara can't forgive him for keeping secrets from her. Russell finds out that his dad has died of a heart attack thanks to their super computer (who reminds me a lot of JARVIS from Iron Man), TIM. As Russell sets out to head to the funeral, John decides to accompany him; leaving Cara to hold down the fort. With John gone, Stephen convinces Cara to help him hunt down the girl from the bar, Piper. One thing leads to another, she gets away, Ultra agents are about to swoop in, and Stephen decides to kiss her. It stops them from getting caught, good plan, right? Eventually, they find Piper again. Cara helps save her and they convince her they're out to help her, not kill her. TIM makes a startling discovery; Piper is really Darcy's little sister. Russell starts a bar fight in some small town near his home one. John helps him, because that's what bro's do….and then they're arrested, sorta. With no ID's on them, John offer's Russell's real name and his father's. The cop buys it, after checking into it, lets them go. Russell's not sure he's ready to face his mom…it turns out, the night he came home with the money, the thugs followed them. He's in the midst of telling his father off when they nearly bust down the door. Russell hides, per his father's request, and watches as two thugs burst into the house. They search for him; dad offers their money back, but it seems they're not out for just money. They want Russell. When his father refuses to give him up, the thugs result to breaking his hand…with a hammer (cringe moment). In the end, they leave. Russell does one more piano concert. His dad waves to him from behind the curtain across the stage after he's finished; cast on his broken hand. Russell waves back and then teleports out and away. Never to see his father again. That having been the last time he saw his father…It's understandable why he wouldn't want to see his mother. But, with John there to support him (as friends do) he goes, talks to her…and plays one final piano piece. Cry worthy? Maybe a bit…but it gets worse. Meanwhile, Stephen arranges a meeting between Darcy and Piper. It's a happy reunion…until Ultra cars start showing up. Cara warns Stephen, who warns Piper and Darcy. Turns out Darcy called them in. The plan is to have Piper's powers taken away. Thankfully, Stephen talks some sense into Piper (who almost agrees to this) and Darcy and they make a break for the back door. Stephen and Piper hide while Darcy tells the agents to stand down. The kill squad, however, isn't buying it. Just as Piper and Stephen are about to be discovered, Darcy teleports a gun into her hand, and starts shooting out kneecaps (you go girl!). Seconds later, she's shot, several times, left to fall, dead before Piper and Stephen's eyes. That's the part when I started crying. Thankfully, Mattie wasn't here to judge me. Stephen takes Piper back to their HQ. Later, he converses the story to Cara…and confesses that he thinks about her all the time…she confesses the same. They kiss again….then they start to strip one another. It seems, for all intense and purposes, that Cara's moved on, without telling John. Love triangle? Sure, why not! It doesn't end there. It turns out, Jed's been off spying on some girl, a Tomorrow People in her own right. Well, more like a Tomorrow Woman. He confronts her about using her powers; the two have a history together, apparently. Then things get steamy for them. Her names Morgan and she doesn't mind using her power's on Jed…who also has no protests. What's going on!? All these weird crazy hookups; not to mention Cara's cheating, Piper and Russell's loss. What's going to happen when John get's back? (Seriously, what's Cara thinking? Hasn't she seen John's abs!?) So many questions! This show manages to play with my feelings so violently!
