"The Librarians" Return for Season Two

New television shows can be their own scary experience for fans when they come to love it, simply because the unknown awaits us when that critical first season comes to an end. Sometimes the experience ends in sadness as a show that we made time for weekly ends up being cancelled, and sometimes, we experience nothing but joy when the network lets us know our favorite characters will be coming back for another year.

The latter of that happened last week when after an excruciating wait, TNT announced that The Librarians would be coming back for a second season. I saw the news on Twitter myself, and being a massive fan of this new and exciting show, I had to make sure I calmed down before writing this article or I would have ended up writing "OMG" about seven hundred times over and over again.  

Yes, I was that excited simply because we will be getting more of this unique television series, and quite frankly I can't wait for the new season to start. We will undoubtedly be moving on to a new and exciting story arc since "And the Loom of Fate" wrapped up so many neat little ends in so many ways, minus a few. We still have more of the mystery of Jenkins to look forward to and what he seems to know about the Library, the Librarians and well...fate as a whole, so I'm sure that will be an important piece to look into, story wise. 

But more importantly, as we saw at the end of that first season finale, this is a team that finally trusts one another, knows what to expect from each other and well...that's going to make for some fine storytelling. With trust in place, this is a team that can now work seamlessly together, and quite frankly accomplish greater wonders than they already have. Not to mention, I'm sure the show will continue to slowly reveal all the details about these complex characters as it did last season, a little bit at a time, which is something I thoroughly enjoyed since it kept the mystery of each librarian going, giving us just enough to want to know more. 

I really have to thank TNT for giving this show the chance it deserves with a second season. The first season of any show is all about discovery and figuring out what works and what doesn't.  What made The Librarians so unique is that so much worked in that first season that we can expect the folks behind the scenes to stick with that and enhance it, undoubtedly making this upcoming second season, all the more incredible.  Either way, the wait is finally over, this awesome new show is coming back, and I know I couldn't be happier.
