Written by ShaeOn my many ventures into the public this weekend, I had the opportunity to stop by HotTopic and was lucky enough to find the there was a few new POP! figures to be found. One of them being a Supernatural must have for any fan, the infamous King of Hell, Crowley. And yes, I bought him. I also finally bought Sam too! Right now HotTopic is having an in house sale on their POPs of buy 3 get the 4th free! I might have bought my sister one, TinkerBell! It was really hard to choose which to buy, but this all lead me on an Internet search of new POP! figures. If you're a fan of Guardians of the Galaxy you may have seen their various figures. Well, if you're obsessed with Groot then you are going to squee when you find out that the long awaited Baby Groot POP! figure has been released to the masses. While I haven't found one in stores, I did notice they have it on ThinkGeek and it is on back order. There is hope! Amazon has them, in stock, and ready to ship! I may know this because I may have just ordered mine...because I need it. They also have the LootCrate exclusive Glowing Hand Groot, for a price. Funko has also announced more Guardian of the Galaxy figures, such as Ronan, Nebula, The Collector and even our beloved Thanos. Howard the Duck is already a POP! and he's kind of adorable. Ever expanding their universe of POP! figures, Funko is also releasing more Frozen characters. Rather, different versions of our favorite characters. They're doing the same with the X-Men, however you can pre-order those as a 6 figure set! Also, looking out for this month is the Cthulhu figure and a new Deadpool! (Don't tell Mattie about that one. It might just have to be a birthday gift). A new trend with POP! figures, I have noticed, is the massively large ones. I have two POP! figures that are relatively big, and I love them. Currently I have Armored Baymax and Smaug, but I've seen some others. Stay Puft comes in two versions, happy and mad, and Baymax has a non-armored version. These POP! figures are truly larger than life and I didn't think POPs could get any cuter. Turns out they can. I even saw an Attack on Titan large POP! today! It seems Funko is expanding their genres to include many a figure and fit in many a fan. Which is good news for Bronies, since they do not have a collection of POPs just yet. If you're not into the bigger POP! figures, that's okay. They have a few minis to choose from, as well as key chains. They also have a few key POP! figures with cars! So really, there is a POP! for everyone. I would say I have an addiction, but I can't quit loving POP! figures. With many variations of the figures we love and a collection spanning several nerd genres, it's not hard to see why POP! figures are so fun to collect.
