This is something I've been mulling over for quite some time. I've been struck with the idea of a Geeky Wedding ever since I came across a few pictures of geek weddings via the internet. Sometimes you're searching through hilarious meme's and up pops an awesome geeky wedding party. Well, I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't mind having my own geek inspired wedding some day. But there are varying levels, many types, and of course, the 'where to even begin' part of all that. So today, let's talk rings, shall we!? You've probably read some of my various Geeky Gifts blogs, of which I talk about geek jewelry quite often. So, say you have a special geek lady you want to pop the question to. It's all about finding that perfect ring, right? That's true for just about any relationship, when it comes time for the engagement. For a geek, however, the ring has to be absolutely perfect. Where does one even begin to look for such a thing? Like anyone else, I took to the internet and I found some fantastic wedding rings that I'm about to share with you. Finding a geeky wedding/engagement ring isn't terribly hard to google. For me the challenge came in finding where to buy them. There are lots of pictures of these rings, but not many places are actually offering them. I came across a few on tumblr, but sadly none lead me to a place to buy. Finally, though, I found a few sites, and figured that if I was looking for geeky inspired rings, someone else surely was too! First is this stunning Superman inspired band. With a modern design, this ring is sure to make any geek girl squeal with joy. This ring is made with 14k white gold and rose gold, a genuine cut diamond, and a sapphire. It's estimated value is between $3,000 and $4,000. It is a bit pricey, but it is beautifully crafted. This ring can be customized to fit any size finger; shown above in standard 7. I found this at Custommade.com. Of course, if she's not a Superman fan, there are Batman inspired rings. What girl doesn't love Batman? No, scratch that. What person doesn't love Batman? The answer is nobody, because Batman is utterly amazing. With the band in the shape of the bat-symbol holding up a diamond, this is pretty amazing. Also at Custommade.com is this stunning Iron Man inspired Arc Reactor ring. In 14k white gold and black rhodium, this ring has both diamonds and aquamarine. Add a custom engraved message in the band, and your lady will love this. In similar styles are also R2D2 inspired rings from Star Wars, in white gold, diamonds, and even sapphires. There is also a Star Wars Imperial insignia ring, in white gold, white topaz, blue sapphires, and diamonds, similar to both styles. In the range of $550-$4,500, these rings are genuine, beautiful, and also size adjustable. Finding a place that will size the ring just right before sending it off is key, especially when it comes to engagements. Of course, these rings are just a few in the many I have found. Here at Custommade.com they work to ensure the highest quality of metal, craftsmanship, and in accuracy. After all, it not only has to look beautiful, us geeks are all about accuracy when it comes to our fandoms. There are so many different geek inspired rings. Star Wars has a wide selection of ring types that are sure to impress. Zelda has several different types of rings on Custommade.com as well. In various shapes, sizes, and styles, there's a ring that any video game gal will love. A stunning heart shaped ring, in white gold, lined with rubies, diamonds, and a custom engravement in the band is worthy of any princess. But the best part, is in these collections, there aren't just rings for her, but also for him. Here, I'd like to think I'm an equal opportunity offender, so while I was looking for engagement rings for gals, I was also looking for guys. Guys like to feel special too, regardless of the situation. with the Triforce, in gold and diamonds, there are ring styles for men and women. This set can run anywhere from $500 to $15,000, demanding on the metal, gems, and if you want them as a set. You can also find more guy style rings in Green Lantern style, Lord of the Rings, mimicking the One Ring, and even Star Wars. Depending on the intricacy, and the gem's you're looking for, Custom Made has several types of rings for both guys and girls, so take a look! My personal favorite anything Star Trek related but I'm also drawn to those unconventional rings, like this 'Horde' inspired ring, show below. Made with black rhodium, heart shaped ruby, gold inlay, and diamonds, this ring is in both men's and women's style and ranges in price from $250 to $4,600 depending on the size, style, and gems. Either way, it's a unique ring that caught my attention immediately, and what I liked was the matching men's ring. There are several men's style wears, and couples sets on this site. Along with a Star Trek insignia ring for both him and her, and stand alone her in a different style. Many of the rings here are also liked on a site I found called Whengeekswed.com. Which has several helpful tools for geeks looking to tie the knot. Of course, whomever you're proposing to might not want a geeky ring, or if they do, maybe a geeky box is also required. Here is where I turned to Etsy for my Geeky Ring Box finds. Here is where I found the most custom geek boxes for holding rings, including this TARDIS inspired box that holds both rings. There are so many to choose from, so all is really the dealers choice. I do have to say, when looking for these types of things I was so ecstatic at what I found. a few years ago, custom geek rings were unheard of, and now they're all around and covering many different fantoms. Well guys, I hope you enjoyed this new special segment. I'm hoping to do more and find some local options for you guys!
