Written by: ShaeMegacon my Megacon! Okay, that's not true, it's not mine. I've never actually been to Megacon, despite living in Florida for 5 years. But! That's okay! Megacon is held in Orlando, one of the most awesome places on Earth (and not just because of Disney World…but also The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!) and probably one of the most humid… On this weeks episode! Riki, Jessica, Holly and Becky make their way to Megacon while Yaya is busy making an action figure of herself…then she leaves to judge a cosplay competition in Denmark. Yep, Denmark. Chloe, Victoria, and Jesse don't make it this con…but they were in the recap from last weeks episode! Maybe that means this episode is drama free, right? Wrong! There's plenty of drama to be had as Holly and Jessica (best friends, cosplay partners, and business buddies!) compete against each other. Which is just kind of wrong. That's like Mattie and I doing separate cosplays…that aren't even related to each other! Or something equally more scary! But alas, it happened. To top it all off Becky's prop car for her Wreck-It-Ralph cosplay didn't all quite make it to Orlando. Apparently TSA was curious about what was in that massive box going through luggage and thought that replacing all the pieces to the car would be too much effort…so they kept a piece before sticking the rest back in and half-hazzard-ly taping the box back up. You win this round, TSA... Tensions mount between Jessica and Holly as they share a room, but don't compete in the costume contest together. They realize they have an almost debilitating codependent relationship on one another (which is not to say that all best friends are like that…) and that, perhaps, going their separate ways this time around was enough to make them realize just how much competing together and being friends really means to them. Riki, on the other hand, is relatively drama free as she get's her costume work together. She makes her sexy costume debut and remembers to brag about making everything from scratch. Which is enough to win second place. Jessica places third, and as always, some dude we never heard of, or barely saw on the show, takes first! Stoked and elated, both Riki and Jessica talk about how winning was a confidence boost to not just their self esteem, but to their work as professional costumers. Without the endless costume drama of Victoria, or the belittling of other cosplayers from Yaya, tonight's episode was slightly lacking in the nail biting drama that it normally has. But that's okay! All that drama can't be good for the heart! Next week, Yaya will return as a judge! Maybe we'll get a glimpse of Jesse? Will Chloe come back? And whatever happened to Victoria's unfinished Lulu costume!? Some questions may be answered next week…I hope.
