Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...This week brought back the great show for us Cosplay lovers, Heroes of Cosplay. This week kicked off with a visit to ComiKaze Con, and boy did they bring it! New faces, new costumes, and old friends. We followed Jessica, Holly, Jesse, Yaya, and Chloe as our returning stars. We also had the introduction of Indra, a friend of Yaya's and a veteran cosplayer looking to start her own cosplay costuming business. The task for this week was to bring some new, exciting, costumes to the infamous Stan Lee's ComicKaze Con in L.A. I'm not going to lie, kinda massively jealous. Minor spoilers for those who missed this weeks episode! Yaya doesn't actually go to ComiKaze, instead she hits up Argentina, as she was invited to their convention down there as a special guest. Before she goes, though, Indra stops by for some costume advice. The two go over just how many costumes each of them has made, and wow, is that list huge! Yaya has an entire room dedicated to her costumes alone. She calls it her 'blue room', and it is here where Indra let's Yaya talk her into competing at the ComiKaze costume contest. Indra will make, and present, her She-Ra costume for this prestigious convention. Yaya seems sad to be missing out, but excited for her up coming trip! It's not everyday a Cosplayer gets asked to visit an out of state con; much less one in another country, while this isn't Yaya's first, it's certainly the most exciting one yet! Meanwhile, Jess and Holly are discussing their plans for ComiKaze,. The dynamic duo decides to have a table at the Con to boost their company and get more recognition. Not only are they selling T-shirts, and some of their own creations, the two will have a cosplay repair station to help out fellow cosplayers. These two were a personal favorite for me from season one, and it's amazing to see them back for season two and sticking to their tried and true methods. No matter what, cosplay is about fun, and these two bring that to life. They've got some amazing skills and great talent, but they're the most inspirational cosplayers out there. These two decide to do a Pokemon cosplay. Holly will be the actual Pokemon while Jess will be a Pokemon trainer. They decide to invite Chloe into the group, and she does a human form of a Pokemon which turns out to be pretty amazing! In turn, Chloe convinces the two to join her girls cosplay group. They all get together and do Burlesque versions of internet websites. Jesse is back, still riding the high from his last con victory, he's determined to do something fun for this Con. With the help of his girlfriend and a friend, he decides to do Megaman! Sadly, there were no wins or runner ups for any of our Heroes, but that's okay. They all showed up and did a great job showing off their amazing costumes on the stage. While nobody won, nobody was discouraged by this. A lot of work goes into complying, and its all about fun. That's how they all chose to accept it this round. It was still a fun trip for all! What will the rest of this season bring us? Well, it's time to book your tuesday nights, because this looks like its going to be a fun show with some exciting cons coming up! And, after Heroes of Cosplay, the Wil Wheaton Project aired it's first episode (and as I write this, Mattie is working on her cosplay for DCC). This show with our lovable host is one that I can only describe as a slight more tame, far more nerdy version, of The Soup. It's fun, original, and entertaining. So if you get a chance, check that out too! Syfy has some amazing looking shows about to start, keep an eye out, and I'll do my best to review anything that catches my fancy for you guys! If there's a show you'd like to see me review/recap or just watch and Tweet with you about it, hit me up on Twitter @SoraLostSoul. While you're there, go ahead and tell me what your favorite Heroes of Cosplay moment was this week, or comment below! We love hearing from you guys, and I'm always looking for something to geek out about!
