Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...This week's Gotham kicks off with just as much action as the pilot. Not dropping the ball, the show is determined to win fans all over. As a Batman fanatic myself, I was excited about the prospect of this show. This episode follows the first with little delay, with Gordon still pretending he killed Penguin. This earns him some respect from Bullock, but not a whole lot. Still, the two find a way to work together. Now that Bullock thinks Gordon is one of the many corrupted cops, he listens a bit more. Don't get me wrong, he still likes beating people, but now he listens when Gordon tells him to cool it. So what's going on? The episode is named after my all time beloved feline inspired villains. Selina Kyle isn't Catwoman yet, but she is not to be discounted. A crafty kid growing up on the streets hardens anyone. Selina, who prefers to be called Cat, is a crafty, smart, kid. Having already witnessed the murder of the Wayne's, she seems to run into more trouble. A man and a woman appear from a "food truck" offering snacks to the street kids of Gotham. When the kids take some, the woman stabs them in the back of the neck with a pin. The kids pass out nearly immediately. One kid runs and so does Selina. Both get away, but the kid who ran crashes through a window of a restaurant. The police take him into custody, which means Bullock and Gordon get to interrogate them. Things never work out well then Bullock is involved. The kid is sticking to his story of the crazy people trying to abduct kids by stabbing them with drugged pins. Gordon believes the kid, but doesn't know what to do, so he tells Barbara...who calls the news paper with an anonymous tip about these people stealing street kids. Of which the Captain didn't want to happen. I kind of like this future Mrs. Gordon. Meanwhile, Alfred catches Bruce playing with fire. The kid claims its no big deal, but the butler doesn't believe him. Considering the kid witnessed the murder of his own parents, it's safe to say he's going through some stuff. I'm really not sure how I feel about Alfred saying "mate" and "bloody", but I think there's potential there. Gordon and Bullock track down all three places that supply this magical knock out drug. One company in particular catches their eye, and the two find themselves in a deadly shoot out with our kidnappers. As it turns out, they work for "The Doll Maker". Heard that name before? That's good, because he appeared in the CW show Arrow. Sadly, we don't see his face in this one, but that doesn't stop the episode for being any less creepy. The kids are rescued and the mayor vows to help the kids get help. Three bus fulls' are sent "upstate" to a juvenile facility upstate. Among them is our Selina. On the bus, you guessed it, our man and woman Doll Maker workers. They take the bus to a shipping facility to shove the kids into a shipping container. Selina barely escaped from their inspection, but makes it further into the docks before she's caught by the girl. Gordon saves her at the last second. And in order to stay in Gotham, she makes a deal to give information on the Wayne murder case. With all this going on, the Penguin finally finds a ride and murders one of the men on the car that picks him up. He finds a trailer and rents it. Ransoming the other boy to his parents. Whom don't intend to pay. All while Detective Montoya and Allen investigate the disappearance of young Oswald....Mooney and Falcone have come to an understanding....and by understanding, I mean Falcone is wise to her antics. With so much brewing in Gotham, the show can only get more interesting.
