Written by ShaeLet's be honest here, none of you are shocked that this is even a blog. You're kind of like "I expected this". And that's fair. You should have. Listen, I'm an easily obsessive person. Or is it that I have an addictive personality? I'm not sure which. I just know that sometimes things excite me more than they should. Maybe that's the whole part of being a geek that can't be avoided. I should profess my undying love for Assassins' Creed II, and I love that game more than life, but Rogue has just been magical. Maybe it's the nearly year long break I took from gaming, or that I haven't played much past Brotherhood, but this game caught my attention in so many amazing ways. We still get that third person limited point of view we're used to. This time we're an unknown person working at Abstargo, but one of our memories triggers a virus that shuts down the building. The difference here is our main character starts as an Assassin but ends as a Templar. Yes, big spoiler, but it is called Rogue. While Black Flag had us as an un-accepted Assassin, Rogue takes it a step further. It seems Shay had had a change of heart once he discovers that the pieces of Eden are dangerous to go after. It just takes the entire city collapsing and thousands of people dying for him to question the Assassin Brotherhood. When Shay decides to steal an important artifact from the Mentor, he has been declared a traitor. It's a bit weird playing an Assassins' Creed game where we go from being an Assassin to a Templar. Maybe it's my hate for them still holding over, but I can't seem to wrap my head around that concept. Still, it's fun to play. Shay is set in his convictions of not hurting anymore innocent people. While I think Ezio would be disappointed in how some things have turned out, I think think it's a great game. Granted, I haven't remotely finished playing it. And I am dying to play Assassins' Creed Unity. But I love how these games tie into each other. It's really weird playing a game where my name is being yelled, but it's also kind of cool. Then again, having the TV yell orders at me is also disconcerting. Still, the Flare of Historical moments are fantastic. It's exciting! The change in game play is different. I like the various new weapons and how certain controls are different. Hunting is a bit hard for me, but I don't mind it. The sleep dart gets used more on poor animals than anything else. Their little cries break my heart otherwise! Killing people on the other hand, eh! They're all baddies anyway. I recommend this for any Assassins' fan. I also just love this game. A lot. So. You know, that's my Shae-opinion. It's different, but also nice to see how the events previously and the events yet to happen are all tied together.
