Written by ShaeHello my fellow geeks! Mother's Day is right around the corner, and I don't know about you, but I am excited! I have to give a huge shout out to Mattie who sent me some great ideas! She stopped by ThinkGeek and sent me the link to their Mother's Day section! Is your mom a geek!? Does she love Doctor Who? Does she like cookies?! Okay, who doesn't like cookies….Guess what! ThinkGeek and Barnes & Noble have the TARDIS cookie jar! It may seem a bit unconventional as a Mother's Day gift, but believe me, they're awesome. Oddly, my mom got Mattie one for her birthday and she couldn't stop playing with the box before wrapping it and handing it over. When opened and closed, the TARDIS' top lights up and plays the iconic 'whoosh' we all know and love. But, if that's not the type of thing you'd like to give to your mom, then check out their other Doctor Who things. There's a TARDIS necklace, bracelet, boots, dresses, mugs, and of course, shirts and robes. Now, I strive to always get my mom something she doesn't expect. She's not remotely nerdy, but she does have a few things she likes! For instance, she's a huge Star Trek and Walking Dead fan. Thankfully, Walking Dead has a few novels out there. This is particularly helpful for the, not so nerdy, mom out there, like mine! She's not willing to read any of the comics, she's not a fan of nerdy t-shirts or anything like that, but she does love reading and she does enjoy The Walking Dead story line. Barnes & Noble has three novels out that I plan on exposing my poor mother too. The Road to Woodbury and The Fall of the Governor parts one and two. While I can't get my mom to fully express her nerdness publicly, I can get her to indulge just a bit! Also, I recommend taking a look at ThinkGeek's jacket and Mother's Day section. They have a few jackets and cardigans that are stylish! What makes these jacket's so special? Their pockets. Cardigans have zipped pockets, there are plenty of hidden pockets to go around within these awesome looking jackets! And lastly, my always go to pick, mugs. I found one that said "Worlds Okayest Mom." and I really need to just buy it for my mom. Mugs can be any and everything that you want them to be. ThinkGeek, Amazon, and most stores you go to will always have a mug that might catch your eye. Mugs can be as nerdy, or not, as you want them to be. ThinkGeek has an amazingly large selection, and right now they have some great deals going. And of course, microbes. The Metro University Bookstore has them, they can be found online, and my mom's collection is growing so large, when they moved a few weeks ago, her microbes got their own box. They're always a favorite gift of mine to give. When it comes to moms, just remember, whatever you give them, they'll love. If you're still strapped and looking for a last minute gift, check out Pandora's charm bracelets. They're something that your mom will love, and you can always add a charm for any special occasion. Everyone in my family (Included the adopted Mattie) has one, and they're amazing. I wear mine every single day, as does my mom. And remember, moms always love flowers. Whatever you chose to get your mom this Mother's Day, she'll love it! I hope you all like my gift picks! If you find something I recommended from here, take a pic of your mom with her gift and tweet it to me @SoraLostSoul! I'd love to see their reactions and your gift choices!
