Written by ScottyWith everything that has happened to date in Pretty Lake, it is a wonder that there still is hope for the surviving residents. As Chuck has asserted himself the town sheriff and half of his hockey team are his deputies, they are running the town as they see fit. But it is noticeable that things are not getting any better, in fact they are getting worse and there needs to be a change of heart when it comes to surviving inside of the quarantined town. Wiley is being asked to do something that she would normally refuse, but since she has been allowed to stay in Ronnie and Pat’s house for a couple nights, they need her help. Their cousin has a massive cut on her leg and is starting to feel the effects, she needs antibiotics and Wiley is the only one not attached to the family that can go into town. Knowing that it is the right thing to do, she heads on her mission, but when confronted by Chuck, she comes clean about why she is there. Chuck will not allow her to pick up anything until Ronnie returns all of the drugs he stole when the town was initially blocked off from the world. Ronnie is battling his own inner demons after his sister helped to open his eyes. Calling him a monster, Ronnie comes to terms of what he has become and needs help in changing back into the person he once was. Pouring out his drugs and going through a massive withdrawal, the voices in his head are getting louder and he is not able to combat them with anything other than the pills he no longer is in possession of. Nobody can help the delinquent, he has to help himself first, but when Wiley’s baby does not stop crying, he puts the fear of god into his sister, hining that he will kill the baby to make it be quiet. Pat will stop at nothing to save his cousin's life and will head into town with Wiley to pick up the drugs she needs to survive. Although Wiley had the opportunity to leave the house, she came back because it was the right thing to do. Taking some responsibility for her actions now, she is the only one in the household that is not on Chuck’s hit list at this time. Fearing for someone other than herself is something new and wants to confront her sister about something, but is on the road before she is able to conduct her thoughts. Heading back to the house after finding the drugs that they needed, Pat takes his attention off of the road for a spit second and hits Chuck’s little sister Amanda. Knowing that no one in the town will listen to what really happened, Pat flees back to his house and needs to prepare for war. Gord is having problems on the farm with the cows starting to get sick. With help from his old friend Hanna, he is going to try a new remedy on the cows that he has never tried before. Being the only one in town that has any medical training, Chuck’s boys find him when Vince gets sick and nobody knows what it is. Finding out that the young man’s appendix exploded and it is only a matter of time before he dies from it, Chuck and his friends decide to fly their boy to a hospital, but the plane barley gets off the ground before it is shot down by an unseen gunner. Gord is fed up with how Chuck has been running the town into the ground and blames the recent deaths on the rich boy. Trying to stand his ground, Gord is quickly knocked down and decides that he will no longer be a part of the town since the leadership has taken a turn for the worse. Chuck knows that the town is falling apart, but is trying everything that makes sense to him to put it back together. Even after being victorious over the fight with Gord, Chuck’s eyes have been opened to what is really happening and it is starting to take its toll on him as well. With his new friend Samantha testing him, he has found someone that he is comfortable in opening up to. When he is sulking in his own despair, he allows Amanda out of his sight for a few hours and when he gets word from his friends that she has been killed, he knows that Gord was right and the deaths in the town are all on his head. This was a pretty emotional episode and I did not even hit the Adam storyline. So just really quick, he finds a clue that leads him to the prison, he is shot at by the lady guard and is about to be privy to information that no one was intended to find out. I don’t know what is going to happen in the finale since there has been a battle looming between Chuck and brothers Ronnie and Pat since the get go, but it has not killed anyone yet. The ex-convict Mark is still running the bar and who knows what is going through his head. Gord and Hanna fall for each other, but Hanna has something that she is hiding from her new friend. The power is back on in the town, but communications are still down and there are surface to air missiles around the Pretty Lake that will take anything that gets fifty feet off of the ground out in a blaze of glory. One more to go, I don’t know how I am gonna take it when it ends.
