Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Sometimes, a show comes on and you're excited to watch it. Sometimes while watching it, they play with your feels. Sometimes, when they're playing with your feels, they throw you something so shocking you don't know how to handle it. Yeah, that sums up Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. because they otally did that this week. Firstly, I love this show. I squeed when it came back on and was glued to every second. Maybe it's the Marvel nerd in me. Or maybe I've just fallen head over heels for the characters. Or maybe Agent Phil Coulson is just so utterly awesome, that I cried in The Avengers during his death scene. (True story! Mattie was there, she can provide first hand account to this.) So, when you take one of my favorite characters and abuse them, I get emotionally violent. Thankfully, so did Phil's Team. This week the Team banded together and worked with Agent Hand and S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives to hunt down and find the kidnapped Agent that is Coulson. First, Skye gets kicked off the Bus; impersonates Agent May, but she kicks butt and finds a money trail that leads them to where Coulson is being kept. Meanwhile, Ward's been pushing himself physically trying to beat up every Centipede goon they come across. Fitz is bossy and angry, Simmons is melancholy. May? Well, she's May. Don't mess with her Team. Hand doesn't seem to be too keen on finding Coulson. However, she's supposedly been on the phone with Fury and Hill as all of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be up in arms trying find Coulson. Since Hand is more concerned about finding Centipede bases, the Team meet up and hunt down their favorite Agent themselves. Phil, on the other hand, is busy being beaten by angry Centipede operatives. Mostly just this one guy from that jail a few episodes back that knows our girl in the flower dress. (He hurt Phil, so his name isn't important to me.) That is, until he get's a call from Clairvoyant…and dies. Leaving Raina (girl in the flower dress) to give her hand at getting Coulson to cooperate. She's not much into violence… She ends up talking Coulson into willingly using this device that will help him remember what happened to him. So what really happened in Tahiti? It is a magical place, after all. Brain washing? Super Soldier Serum? (Whoa, say that three times fast!) Well…let's just say, Phil was better off not knowing. I think we were all better off not knowing. Seriously? I'm not a Nick Fury fan right now. Not after what he ordered to be done to Phil. As it turns out, Phil remembers being on a table. But he's not in Tahiti, he's not getting a massage. He's screaming from pain and begging them to let him die. All while some machine is working on his exposed brain. What in the name of Thor!? After being reduced by Skye, May, (and the others)), Phil's returned to the Bus and acts like he's fine. Later he pays a visit to a certain doctor that was present at his surgery. Remember the guy from the first episode? Who was really Book from Firefly? Yeah. Phil pays him a visit. Turns out he had been dead for more than just a couple seconds…or days. And this surgery he remembers was the 7th. Who know's how many more he went through. All we do know is his memories were altered so he would have a will to live again. I have to say….this entire episode, all I could do was rage. Where were Black Widow and Hawkeye! They're S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents! Okay, so they're also Avengers…but in the comics, the three worked together! Well. All I'll say is Fury better pray the Avengers never learn of what he did to get Phil Coulson back to life. I'm pretty sure Iron Man of all people would be very displeased, to say the least. Just like I am.
