Written by ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...Sexbots….just let that sink in for a few seconds. Weird? Little bit. But, we kinda saw it coming. It's a futuristic show with Androids…how could this not happen. I certainly didn't think they'd pull that card on their second episode. They did though, and as far as second episodes go? Not too shabby! Alright, so, we start with a very attractive woman, a nerdy guy, and a hotel room. Surely, nothing will go wrong. Except when two other guys show up, kill the one nerdy guy, and leave with the hot chick. Normal, everyday, stuff that cops see, probably. No DNA was left behind by the murdering duo, except for a handprint left by the girl.who was a Sexbot…the handprint, however, was registered to a girl who was decidedly blonde and had been missing for some time. Not the redheaded Sexbot that left with two murderers. Sexbots with human DNA? That, apparently, is illegal. Who knew!? In the process of the investigation, a mother is taken, leaving her kid alone in a car. The kid, Victor, saw the whole thing. Kennex and Dorian get the chance to question the kid. And after Dorian gives Kennex a hard time about the cop's inability to connect with children (and strangely cats), the Detective takes the opportunity to prove the DRN wrong. Not to mention Victor get's this cool toy Giraffe on Kennex's desk! I want the giraffe toy! Victor is able to tell them the type of vehicle his mother was taken in. As it turns out, these Sexbot makers are kidnapping women, taking their skin, and putting it onto the Sexbots. Synthetic skin doesn't compare to the real thing. And really, go big or go home, right? That's what these guys think too. The nerdy guy from the beginning of the episode? Turns out he was a Sexbot maker himself, only he found out what these guys were doing. Partnerships fell through, and well, he ended up dead. As did the redheaded Sexbot. Kennex and Dorian get their hands on one and take it down to Rudy (The police departments chief expert on anything android…and, apparently lab work and all that) in order for them to find where these girls are being kept, her memory needs to be accessed. In, fantastic timing, the do save the young mom, and kill (or maybe their guns were set to stun) all but the major bad guy behind it. Sadly, though, the Sexbot, in their custody has to be deactivated because she has human skin. Dorian decides he wants to be present for this…and it's utterly sad. Also, do people not watch what happens when we treat robots and the like badly? Remember The Matrix or I, Robot? I mean, come on! The moral of this episode? Karl Urban is number 2 on my top 10 actors list; always be nice to robots; and there are still no flying cars in 2048.
