Written by John Edward BetancourtTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...I'm not sure what it is with my favorite shows as of late, but it seems that all of them are out to give me a heart attack and last night's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was no exception. It was a thrilling hour packed to the gills with surprises and tense moments that made you thankful for a commercial break, so let's look a little deeper at "...Ye Who Enter Here". Last night was all about the hunt for the Alien City as our good friends at S.H.I.E.L.D. close in on the location, beneath the coast of Puerto Rico. But before the entire team can land there to begin finding the entrance to the sacred temple, a surprise pops up in the fact that Hydra is on the hunt for Raina. It forces Phil to split the team up, with one half continuing on to the city and the other half securing Raina and bringing her to safety. Hydra has made a point of sending their best after her, since Agent 33, who is still stuck with a disfigured version of May's face after their last encounter, is leading the charge to bring Raina to Whitehall. Thankfully S.H.I.E.L.D. gets to her first and they're off into the sky as Coulson, Mac, Bobbi and Fitz/Simmons find themselves above the entrance to the temple via a deep shaft. The way in seems simple enough, but in order to play it safe, Coulson sends down drones to scout the city beneath them, to no avail. The drones fail and Mac is sent below. As he investigates why the drones went down, Raina and Skye have some quality time aboard the Bus to learn more about Skye's wacko father and more about the Diviner in general. It turns out the aliens that came to earth with it are known as the Kree (Awesome!) and that only the worthy can open the door. This of course means bad news for Mac, as the Kree technology at the bottom of the shaft activates and turns Mac into an insane killing machine who is intent on beating up the team shortly after they rescue him. Eventually Bobbi brings him down and sends him back down the shaft with a thud. Is Mac dead? We don't know, but with the Kree and their technology in play... Either way, as the team deals with Mac, Hydra has used the tracking device implanted in Raina to find the Bus and they board the plane. The Hydra representative, the always "classy" former Agent Ward, offers a deal. Raina and Skye come with him and no one dies. Skye begrudgingly agrees, but Whitehall gets wind of Ward's surprising decision and orders the plane shot down regardless. That's where we end this week. The Bus is in danger of being blown to bits, Mac might be dead and Hydra knows where the city is, and sadly we won't find out what happens until next week on the midseason finale and man, I really cannot wait. This show is simply amazing!
