Written by: ShaeTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...S.H.I.E.L.D. is back! After a week without this show, the anticipation of this week's episode nearly killed me! First the episode starts with a bunch of boy scouts around a fire, telling ghost stories. (What could possibly go wrong?) When suddenly, the scout master gives off a scream to spook the kids! And then, wanders off at some sound he hears…and then he's screaming for real, the kids are hiding in a truck, and we find the scout master, floating, above ground, and definitely dead. Enter, the Team. Agent Ward is still giving Skye the cold shoulder for lying to them last episode. Fitz and Simmons are still being painfully adorable. May's silent as always, and Phil? Phil's running a bunch of medical tests and blood work on himself; and we don't know why. (Or do we?) The Team investigates the floating man and discovers that when touched, (by Simmons) theres a zap of static shock, and he falls back to the ground. There's no explanation for what happened to him. Only an exit wound in the head… Isolated incident? Are they ever? It happens again. This time, it's a farmer guy, found in his barn in the same exact way. Is there a connection? Yes! The two worked as firefighter's during the attack on New York (during The Avengers, because references to the movie and other Marvel things are so wonderful!), which leads the Team to a firehouse! There, we discover that they firemen kept a Chitauri helmet. Anyone who touched the helmet, became sick with an alien virus that essentially fries their brain with a huge electrical impulse. One of the firefighters seems to be exhibiting signs. He's hearing some loud humming noise, and a metal pan starts to levitate near him. Coulson orders everyone out of the building and talks to the guy. We learn that Phil's been hiding a secret. That his time in Tahiti wasn't really a trip he actually took. He shares that he died, unsure of how long, and that he's scared to find the answer too. Sadly, the firefighter dies. Simmons is tasked with finding an antidote incase this alien virus infected others. In the midst of her explaining how the virus works, (transferred through a static shock) a metal instrument starts to float near her. Phil frowns, locks her in the lab to quarantine her, and goes to figure out what to do. Fitz finds out and decides to sit by the door and work on the vaccine while keeping Simmons company. In the meantime, HQ contacts Coulson, tells him to dump any contaminated cargo. Coulson decides this is a stupid thing to do, so he ignores it. Simmons grows discouraged when all of Fitz's vaccines fail. In a desperate attempt to save them, she locks him in the lab, lower's the hanger ramp, mid flight, and jumps. Fitz screams. It turns out his last vaccine did work on the lab rats (poor rats!) and he attempts to go after her. It's Agent Ward, though, that get's the vaccine, and the parachute, faster and dives after her. Simmons is safe. The helmet is handed over to HQ. Ward is still angry with Skye, and Fitz is clearly smitten with Simmons. Coulson reveals to May that he feels like something's wrong with him. In a shocking turn of events, Coulson's scar is revealed! Proving that he was indeed stabbed by Loki. That he's not a clone. And that what happened, him dying, was more real than anything. How did he survive, though? That we still don't know, yet. We also don't know anything about Agent May and her background. Or who Skye's parent's or. Or if Fitz and Simmons will ever end up together. What we do know is, this Friday, November 9th, Thor: The Dark World will be released. Will this tie in with the show? Absolutely! November 19th we get the tie in episode! Also, earlier in the episode, Coulson was demanding the help of a certain Dr. (Banner?) to help save Simmons. Cameo's maybe? Who knows! But I hope they do more like they did with Nick Fury!
