Written by ScottyTHIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...The women in Matt Murdock’s life are far from simple, especially his exes. With Elektra back in the picture, she has plans for herself and Matt to battle the Yakuza and find out what her holding company is really up to. Although he is reluctant to the idea, Matt is thrust back into his Daredevil suit since Elektra has known all along. Finishing off the last of the soldiers, the two discuss terms on how this mission will work and Matt wants nothing more than for his ex to leave the city as soon as possible. The public defender for Frank Castle has made his way to the offices of Nelson and Murdock to get a signature on Karen’s statement on what happened in the hospital. Seeing that several facts were left off of the statement, Karen is sure that there is something being hidden and now Matt is starting to see it as well. Convincing his friends that trying to protect a man’s life is worth the battle, the group heads down to have a face to face with Frank Castle. It is a media circus surrounding the hospital, but the group is able to make it up to Frank’s room and convince him to hire them as his legal team. Not going unnoticed, District Attorney Reyes is not too far away and tries to throw out the legal team, but when she hears that Frank has retained council with them, she is forced to leave in a huff. Trying to find more about who Frank Castle is, Foggy starts the questioning, but Frank will not speak to him. As Karen is left in the room, alone with the mad killer, she is able to open Frank up to be a human once again. Talking about his kids and the silly things they do and how much he loved them, but then is able to recount what happened that day at the carousel when he lost his family. As Foggy is working outside of the room, he is able to get a great plea deal for Frank, but when the judge and DA come in to hear the official plea, "Not Guilty" comes across Frank Castle’s lips. Now entering the biggest trial they have ever been a part of, Nelson and Murdock have one week to get ready and Matt must be involved. Being called away from the hospital by Elektra, Matt is now going to fulfill his one job that he promised his ex-girlfriend. Needing to find the ledgers from the Roxxon Corporation, Elektra has devised a plan that will go off without a hitch. But when arriving at the gala event, Matt notices that their mark is much more protected than they expected. Being able to acquire his keycard and making it to a sealed off floor, Matt and Elektra are able to use their skills to locate the ledger, but then they are quickly discovered. Making it out the front door in one piece, the two start digging through the ledger and find out that there are encrypted entries, leaving them to wonder what exactly the company is trying to hide. These episodes just keep getting better as the season moves on and the story takes another couple steps forward. I am dying to see what District Attorney Reyes is hiding and how she will benefit from the death of the Punisher. There is no love between these two characters, and even less after their latest conversation. Once again, Frank Castle opens up a little bit more about his past and how it is his fault that his family is dead. When seeing the look on his face when being read the police report about how his family was killed, I thought he was gonna burst out of the restraints right there and go to work. Karen has to be the unsung hero in this entire series as she has a way of making people feel comfortable around her. She is so nice and determined to find the truth, it is next to impossible to stop her when she knows what she is looking for. Well, on to episode seven, I cannot believe that the season is already halfway over.
