When we last settled in, to enjoy the amazing NBC series, Found, we were left stunned by that ending. Because we truly thought the worst of Jamie. After all, Gabi discovering that cigarettes were on her lawn, that the missing person from her last case ended up in her basement, along with Jamie’s decision to meet Hugh ‘Sir’ Evans and talk with him… was all foreboding for certain and spoke to Jamie being Sir’s pawn in this whole mess. Which of course, left us eager to know the truth and eager to know if evil was going to collapse M&A, and thankfully… after a short hiatus for the show, those answers finally came to light… the long way round in ‘Missing While Manipulated’. Simply because, before Gabi and the team could further investigate Jamie and potentially confront him, a man named Monty stormed into the office with a gun in hand. Which he made clear, was his bargaining chip, one that he expected Gabi to cash in. For she sent him to jail years ago, as part of a case in her former career where all signs pointed to him harming his son, and well… he expected her to now help him find his baby boy. Because he and his mother had gone missing, and that led… to a tense cat and mouse game at M&A and at Zeke’s. For Monty expected no one to help on this case but Gabi and slowly but surely… she had to chip away at his anger and gain his trust. So that the team could be involved, so this case could be solved the right way. Which led to a messy manner in how the case played out. Because despite Gabi figuring out a way to slowly gain his trust, others outside of the building were ready to charge in and save her. Which added tension and slowed things down, and Gabi continued to fight against that. But with the help of her team, she finally figured out how to break the tension and work with Monty to get his son home, safe. Which involved letting down walls and being good to one another, and because of that, and because Trent stood down when he made a one-man army attempt to end this in the only way he knew how, eventually… it became clear that Monty’s son was hidden away safely. And that his mother did so to get some real help and eventually, the family was reunited, and another lost soul came home. But, in between all of that, the story inched toward all kinds of important answers. The kind that revealed that Jamie cared about Margaret and wasn’t a monster. He was just a broken soul like the rest of the team and did bold things to get answers and understand the life his mother and her close friends were leading, and his desire to do right by Margaret added trust to his actions and besides… there was no way he could be the problem. Since Margaret’s decision to visit Sir and confront him about Jamie’s visit, led to the surprise reveal of Sir’s real accomplice. For a short chat with Heather made it clear, that she was Sir’s sister and that her career was perfect cover and made it easy for her to blend in and handle chaos in the shadows and that discovery… is bad news… for Heather. For the truth galvanized Gabi and gave her a fine understanding of how best to handle this mess. Or at least, begin to plan how to, and all of this brought forth, just an amazing episode through and through. Simply because this story really took the time to showcase a few things. One, how this show can do it all since it was a straight who-done-it this go round, with just hints of growth for the characters to keep the message of healing alive and two… it knows how to straight up drop our jaws. Because that was not the reveal we expected, and Heather’s involvement changes so much for this story and truly… we are now super engaged and ready to see where all of this is headed next. Because now, Gabi and her team are on the offensive, and they’re ready for more surprises from Sir and that is going to make for some amazing stories as we inch toward the end of season two of this brilliant series. Until next time. Watch ‘Found’
