Written by John Edward Betancourt It is definitely safe to say that conspiracies are all the rage right now, and it makes sense as to why. After all, the Federal Government finally released footage of UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena), making it appear that all the theorists about such matters were right, and they are of course all over the news. Since there are certain grown adults, spouting them on national television as though they are gospel. Leading people to look into them a little more, and that means the time is right… to bring them back to television and film and explore their folly and what makes them so enticing to some. In fact, Apple TV+, is ready and set to dive into this world. For recently they announced that in January they will be home to a new conspiracy thriller entitled, Prime Target. Which will offer up an engaging and unique plot that will indeed draw us into the world of conspiracies and their power and perhaps… toy with what it might look like if the worst ones were real. And since you’re eager to know more about this series, we have all the details on the plot, the release date and some first-look photos for you to enjoy, as we prepare to plunge into a strange world where nothing is what it seems. ‘Apple TV+ announced the premiere date for the new conspiracy thriller “Prime Target” starring SAG Award winner Leo Woodall (“The White Lotus,” “One Day”) and Quintessa Swindell (“Black Adam,” “In Treatment”). If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world. Soon he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent (played by Swindell) who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians' behavior. Together they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of. The cast also includes Academy Award nominee and BAFTA Award winner Stephen Rea (“The Crying Game”), BAFTA Award nominee David Morrissey (“Sherwood,” “The Walking Dead”), Emmy Award winner Martha Plimpton (“The Regime”), BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Sidse Babett Knudsen (“Borgen”), SAG Award nominee Jason Flemyng (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), BAFTA Award nominee Harry Lloyd (“Game of Thrones”), Ali Suliman (“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” “Paradise Now”), Fra Fee (“Rebel Moon,” “Hawkeye”) and Joseph Mydell (“The Eternal Daughter”). Truly, Peacock has established itself in 2024, as the premier place for powerful documentaries and docuseries. Because this year, they’ve not only released a bevy of them, but every single one of them have featured thoughtful points, objectivity and they work to educate over sensationalize, and that is a big deal. Because that’s what a documentary should do. It should offer facts, and be opinion free, and well, Peacock is showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to releasing these types of shows and films.
Simply because they recently unveiled the trailer, key art, and release date for another powerful docuseries entitled, Making Manson. Which will indeed examine the life and times of Charles Manson, one of America’s most infamous people, and ponder upon his life and his crimes like never before. And well, since you are undoubtedly curious to see what this has to offer, here are all the details on this series, and that trailer and art, to help you prepare to learn more about the mind of a true madman.
ABOUT MAKING MANSON An explosive series offering unfiltered insights into America's most notorious killer, Charles Manson. Through 20 years' worth of never-before-aired conversations, those closest to the case have their views challenged as Manson talks openly about his part in the infamous crimes, as well as his upbringing, criminal youth and his true feelings about "The Family." Manson reveals the cruelty he suffered in reform school and the childhood experiences that made him who he was. Former "Family" members listen to the exclusive conversations and are taken back to the time when they "would do anything for Charlie." Manson recounts the early crimes that led to the murder spree in the summer of ‘69, laying out an explanation of loyalty and brotherhood that pushes against the accepted motive: his desire to incite Helter Skelter. In the final moments before his death, Manson reflects on his life in prison and shows rare tenderness for the man who spoke to him across the decades. ABOUT THE DOCUSERIES Premiere Date: November 19 Director: Billie Mintz (The Guardians) Executive Producers: Max Welch, Kate Maddigan, Tim Withers, Duane Jones for Renowned Films Produced by: Renowned Films Format: Binge, 3 episodes x 60 minutes Written by John Edward Betancourt One thing that fans of television can all agree upon, is that there are few producers out there as prolific as Dick Wolf. One compliant that often arises regarding trailers these days, is that they give away far too much information regarding the plot. To the point where in some cases, you already know what is going to happen in the story because the biggest plot points have been laid out. But slowly and surely, that’s changing, and trailers are going back to being the sizzle reels that they should be, and Prime Video is leading the charge on such matters, as evidenced by the last trailer for Citadel: Honey Bunny.

It is definitely safe to say that television fans everywhere were thoroughly intrigued when Prime Video announced that they were bringing to life, a grandiose story based upon the wildest heist to ever happen in human history. All six episodes premiere on December 6 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world. The Sticky follows Ruth Landry (three-time Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale), a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves. She teams up with the hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos), and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr) to carry out a multi-million-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus. In the deliciously devious trailer, the unlikely trio of maple syrup thieves are introduced – as they evade the long arm of the law, create mayhem in their quest for liquid gold, and potentially dabble in murder. Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode Seven of ‘Midnight Family’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
It is definitely safe to say that fans of the magnificent Apple TV+ series, Midnight Family, had quite the question hanging over their head after last week’s episode. Specifically… what was going to become of Marigaby? Because she was deeply rattled by the death of Nallely, and clearly had crossed a threshold as a medical professional. Because now emotion was thrown into the mix and that is indeed problematic and a reason that they try to teach doctors and paramedics to keep a level head and well, as it turned out… sour days lie ahead for Gaby following that harrowing death, and they came to bear in the next episode of this incredible show. Simply because ‘Goodbyes’ saw Gaby struggling badly with Nallely’s death, to the point where she was not herself. For at school, she was missing tests and class as she poured over the case notes and every possibility of what could have happened to her patient, and she was equally as chippy on the ambulance. To the point where she snapped when a YouTube prank star pushed the wrong buttons when he manipulated his way onto the truck. Because she was simply furious that he made an attempt to use an ambulance in that manner and went so far as to inflict pain when applicable and well, things only fell to pieces further from there. Mainly because at one point, they were called to a job involving a woman that was severely mentally ill. In fact, she was so out of sorts that she outright forgot to care for her sick son, allowing for him to expire, and that led to chaos on the truck. Since they had to transport this ailing mother across town to the only facility that would take someone in her state. But on the way, she caused trouble and damaged the truck, and of course… the family received no money for this job or the other one and that added to Gaby’s stress and pushed her to isolate further. To the point where she was finally able to figure out what went wrong with Nallely’s passing and that led to the most stunning moment of the episode, one that might change the course of the season. Because she truly believed that Nallely’s death, was her fault. For she missed the warning signs present in her chart, she ignored the core symptoms that spoke to a slow and painful brain bleed. So, since she was the doctor, this was all on her and that broke her. Broke her confidence and led her to believe that she was no longer qualified to do any of this. Which in turn, prompted her to call her brother and let him know, she was done. No more truck, no more late nights. No more Doctor Tamayo. Which was shocking to say the least. Because Gaby loved this work the most, and it just did not seem like her to do this and it does leave one to wonder what lie ahead for her. For she is deeply hurting right now, and not thinking straight. Thankfully though, Bernarndo pointed out when she rushed him with raw emotion and passion and tears over what happened, it wasn’t her fault. There were no reasons to look for this injury, and no reason to hold herself accountable for that which was out of her control. But she simply cannot hear that in the moment and that led to a powerful episode. One that truly showcased what can happen when a doctor or a paramedic does not draw the line emotionally, and it has us eager to see what comes next in this story. Because Gaby is a brilliant doctor and she is one of the best paramedics on the road, and hopefully she finds clarity before making a critical career mistake. Until next time. Watch ‘Midnight Family’

Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode Six of ‘Where’s Wanda?’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
It is definitely safe to say, that fans of the delightful new Apple TV+ comedy, Where’s Wanda?, have had quite the worry hanging over their head. Specifically, regarding Carlotta and Dedo. Because they’ve started to fall to pieces, and they’ve started to drift apart and that’s just not something we can stomach. Because they’re a loving and good couple, flawed sure, but who isn’t? And they deserve a chance to find some measure of happiness regardless of what is currently going on in their lives, and well… those worries only grew during the next episode of this magnificent series. Simply because ‘The Küchlers’ saw them at their breaking point. After all, they were trapped in the shelter and dealing with terrified preppers and they in turn were terrified and unsure if they were going to survive. So that seemed like the right time… to let loose. To be honest and say what needed to be said about the past few months, the past few years, everything. Which was hard to see happen. But necessary. Because they needed to know where they stood with one another and if they had a future together. And while we were indeed worried their love might collapse in the midst of trying to keep the family together, what mattered was that honesty would determine the future. But we still wanted to see them thrive, survive, and overcome this tough time. Thankfully, the show let us know… they would. Because that honesty allowed for apologies to come forth, for understanding to come forth, and they came to realize they were stronger together and should stay together. Which also brought forth the most awkward love scene ever, because well, you watched… you know. But what mattered most was that they were let go, because the mother of this prepper family, looked them up and understood their mistake and their desperation and gave them a fighting chance. Wherein they decided that perhaps a new path needed to take place, and perhaps acceptance that Wanda might be gone, needed to take place. But ironically, there was no need for that. Because we also caught up with Wanda in this story, and we learned that after some real friction between her and Chris they came to an understanding. In that, she had to stay away from Lukas because he was out to kill her, and Chris would keep her safe and together they would work on figuring out how to bring Lukas to justice so she could be free. So, for months now, she’s been living in that basement, working to put together the pieces regarding the King to finally see her family again, and well… that will be complicated going forward. Since the Lukas incident forced her and Chris to escape into the night and into the unknown. All of which brought forth another incredible episode from this series. For this one was endearing and moving, and really allowed for a couple in crisis to finally confront that crisis and work toward something better. Not to mention, it was handled in a unique and creative manner, one that allowed for laughs and offered up plenty for us to learn. But what matters most is that at last, the Klatts are unified, and ready to wait out the worst-case scenario that may not come. Since we know their daughter is alright and, on the run, and now it all comes down to how on Earth she can uncover the King and his machinations so she can go home at last and resume her life. Until next time. Watch ‘Where’s Wanda?’

Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 204 of ‘Shrinking’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
There is an interesting trap that we all walk into when we start our healing journey. In that, we believe that because we are going through therapy or doing the work needed to heal, that we are in a way… ready to handle anything. Because with our therapist and our new skill set at our side, nothing can rattle or shake us. We’ve got this, and well… that’s not quite right. For are in the process of healing, of learning those skills so that in the future we are ready. But thinking we are good to go can be problematic, and it can set us up for a fall, and thrust us into a storm, and that sense of invincibility was put on display in the next episode of Shrinking on Apple TV+. A feat that ‘Made You Look’ accomplished primarily through Jimmy and Sean. Who are truly in the midst of their healing journey but think they are further along. To the point where Sean didn’t fight all that much harder to get Liz back on the truck. He just rolled with it and hoped the for the best because he thought he had the skill set present to make magic happen. But his dad’s woeful lack of understanding of his condition and the fury of hearing about how his father failed him, kept pushing Sean to the brink. To the point where Jimmy had to step in, in unique ways to keep him calm. But Sean truly thought nothing was wrong, because he was in therapy, and he had support… so of course he could make it. Which brings us to Jimmy’s journey. Because in this particular tale, he continued to ignore his own pain and he continued to not think about the fact that his wife’s killer was hovering about, trying to make amends. He just stayed the course, thinking he was in a good place before Louis arrived, so now was the time to let it ride. But alas, that just meant Jimmy was oblivious to the fact that he needed to do the work, and oblivious to how he was starting to slip back into old habits himself. Such as advising Sean and getting him to open up. All of which also spoke to how these two felt a sense of invincibility because they started the journey, when they still had so much work to accomplish to find the peace they so desperately needed. Not to mention, Gaby’s desire to be free of connection and emotion for a bit, led to struggles untold. Since she kept dodging an opportunity to date someone that she deeply connected with, and she missed out on important family news. And Alice of course, battled her mistakes and her pain as only she knew how, alone. Because her father wasn’t there yet. If anything, the only plot thread that wasn’t concerning here was Brian’s quest to understand fatherhood since there was talk of starting a family. But otherwise, there was trouble brewing here. Because everyone else thought they were far enough ahead when they were not, and that sense of invincibility really did brew a storm. One that even Paul acknowledged was on the horizon, as he battled through memory issues and writing problems because of his own affliction. Which made for another bittersweet episode. One that reminded us of how complex the healing journey is and how hard it is. Because we make mistakes as we work to heal, and we stick with this kind of thinking, simply because we want that peace, and we want a normal life again. But a storm is coming, plain and simple, and it may relate to the keystone of this mess, since he was within inches of knocking on Jimmy’s door, and it will be interesting to see what the storm looks like when it arrives, and how these flawed individuals will handle it and pick up the pieces. As season two of this brilliant series, continues along. Until next time. Watch ‘Shrinking’

If there is one particular emotion that truly makes us do irrational things, that The Irrational on NBC has explored on several occasions, it would be love, and rightfully so. Because love really does shake us up and make us take part in wild acts. Some of them are good, albeit horribly embarrassing and silly. While others… can be in that grey area or scary. If we have to say… do something brave to keep our lover safe, such as when Alec risked his own life to keep Rose safe, and the rest… are certainly bad. Because love can prompt us to hurt people emotionally or physically, if our heart so deems it and that particular aspect of it is top of mind today since that was put on full display in the next episode of the show. A feat that ‘Formal Ties’ accomplished by bringing Professor Mercer and Riz to a diplomatic wedding at the Italian Embassy. Which took place there because it harbored a powerful Romanian fugitive, named Cosmo, who sought asylum there, and well, if he left the compound, he would be extradited so the wedding had to happen within its walls. Which seemed to be the only major hiccup for what looked to be an innocuous evening. One where Riz was eager to use this event to learn about non-verbal cues and for Alec, it was going to be an evening of catchup and relaxation. Since Marisa dropped by in an effort to just have a nice night out free from FBI stuff, so she could ponder upon whether or not she was taking that promotion. But alas, this was not to be the sweet evening that everyone hoped for. Simply because a guest died from a food allergy mix-up and that opened the doorway to an assassin sneaking in. Who went after Cosmo hard. Which of course, prompted our heroes to spring into action and take part in a fascinating murder mystery complete with secret passages and a genuine whodunit. One that eventually came down… to love. Because Riz came to learn that the Italian Ambassador and his closest male aide were a couple, through those non-verbal clues no less. And well, it was that aide that was responsible for the chaos. For he thought his love was nearing the end of his term, and that the exit of Cosmo would allow for that to happen. But he learned Cosmo was staying and that his love was thinking more and more about staying in government, even if that involved getting into a heterosexual marriage. So… he panicked, thinking he would lose his other half… and acted brutally, out of the belief that somehow that the end of Cosmo would keep his relationship afloat. Which spoke deeply to how… love simply makes us do crazy and ugly things sometimes. Especially if we think we are going to be denied it, and jilted lovers have before… caused harm to others in the desperate hope they will be seen again, loved again because of how badly they crave what it gives them. Which was a fine lesson for certain, one that was broken up in this story by more growth for others. Since Phoebe worked with Kylie to find courage to do what she knew would be tough, which was to turn her professor in. Thankfully Kylie discovering the professor was laundering grant money in addition to stealing student’s work helped Phoebe to make the call. Plus, Marisa finally realized… that if she became the boss, she would lose out on field work, and she could not have that. So, she passed on the promotion for now and opted to be where she worked best. Which showcased that Phoebe is becoming a bolder and stronger person, that Kylie is becoming a leader in her own right and Marisa… knows where she wants to be right now. All of which added to a refreshing and fun episode. One that once again, surprised us. Because normally, there is a structure to this show and the cases our heroes’ work. Which is not a bad thing, because we love that setup. But this… this felt like an old school detective story. Complete with a grandiose setting and minimal resources available to the gumshoes, and that was just a real treat. Mainly because it led to an engaging mystery. One that really did let our trio shine with their detection skills and intelligence and well, all this episode does, is leave us eager to see, what other kinds of surprise episodes lie ahead as season one of this magnificent show continues along. Until next time. Watch ‘The Irrational’
‘You Would Do It Too (Tú También lo Harías)’ Recap: ‘Three Dead on a Bus’ & ‘Pact of Silence’10/30/2024 Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for the Series Premiere of ‘You Would Do It Too (Tú También lo Harías)’.
We are taught from a very early age, that everything about the justice system is supremely black and white. Wherein the police are the good guys and will always do whatever it takes to protect us from the bad guys. Who are always eager to cause harm and will stop at nothing to do so, and their ranks include anyone that chooses to commit a crime, regardless of the circumstances. And they will of course, be caught and go to jail because our justice system is sound, and we hold to this so tightly that we believe it for years on end and it serves as the structure for most of our crime themed entertainment. To reinforce the point. But what’s fascinating is that we learn quickly in adulthood, that such lessons are nonsense. For not all police officers have the interests of the public and the innocent at heart, and that injustices run rampant all the time through a system that needs reform. Plus, we also learn that bad guys in the traditional sense aren’t the constant. For there are people that break the law to feed their families, and some become heroes by breaking the law through vigilante acts. Which are truths we are now seeing come to light in popular media instead, and it just so happens… that Apple TV+ is home to a series that truly reflects this and uses that truth to present us with a fascinating case. Which are feats that You Would Do It Too (Tú También lo Harías) accomplish in ‘Three Dead on a Bus’ and ‘Pact of Silence’, by plunging us into the midst of a stunning crime. Wherein we meet Officers Fran Garza and Rebeca Quirós as they arrive at quite the call. For three people on this night, worked to rob everyone on a bus, and they were mostly successful. Since they managed to steal everyone’s bank information and personal devices. But in a grand twist, the three robbers on the bus, are the only dead individuals in this heist. Mainly because eyewitness accounts inform the police that a guardian angel was on this bus. One that took those monsters out before escaping with their gear, presumably to get them their money back.
A strange reality that forces this duo to push the witnesses like never before to fess up as to who the good Samaritan was on the bus, to no avail. For they believe that he committed no crime. He stepped up when no one else would and deserves awe for that over punishment. But the police of course, disagree and are eager to bring everyone involved to justice, no matter the cost and what comes next… will be an intense cat and mouse game to find the shooter and piece together who happens to be in charge of stealing all that money, in a story that is clearly grounded… in the grey over anything else. Which is a plot that gives rise to a breathtaking story that is full of surprises, and where nothing is what it seems.
Courtesy of the fact that no one is inherently good in this story, nor are they evil. They are just people, struggling to figure out balance in this story, to no avail in these opening two episodes. Since those stolen from really want the police to leave their hero alone since he did nothing but stand up for them. Not to mention they are traumatized and scared and want their peace. Not to mention, the police, or at least Rebeca, are hell bent on justice and eager to use scare tactics to get there. Which does bring about a story that plays at all sides of the equation and never once lets us know if there are heroes in this story or not. We merely know that this is a tale grounded in chaos and a brutal crime. Which brings forth, a brilliant series premiere. One that truly shatters all the tropes and all the norms to bring us a story grounded deeply in reality. Because there are people out there some would rather see walk than face trial for the heroic yet criminal things they’ve done and there are cops like Rebeca out there. Eager to scare the hell out of people to close a case. But above all, we are now in the midst of a fast-paced, intelligent story that in its first two episodes, offers more questions than answers. To compel us to continue the journey and see how this unfolds and learn all the facts, and it will indeed be interesting to see what lie ahead in the grey as this magnificent new series rolls on.
